buy more appliances and vehicles that are more energy efficient. if passed, the legislation would establish more than 100 different programs that would doll out $369 billion in tax incentives to reduce the impact of climate change. one program would give low income house-holds rebates of up to $8,000 for a new heat pump, $840 for a new electric stove or drier and $225 to update the old electrical wiring in their home. democrats hope to pass the inflation reduction act next week amid the opposition from republicans. there are other provisions in the bills designed to reduce inflation which is something we all have felt whether in the grocery store or behind me, at the gas pump or at your local coffee shop. case in point, cbsnbc recently visited alamo square cafe in san francisco where its owner hiked
