the morning i write s-a-n j-o-s-e, i'm like it doesn't look like. >> you've been delivering the last day. >> don't blame me when it gets hot but i'll take credit for the nice weather. [ laughter ] >> i'm reporting in the newsroom on that day. >> this is part of the reason why. take a live look outside in san francisco, you can't even see the top of the bay bridge. the tower is there, because the fog has descended on the bridge and at least the visibility is clear for the most part as you're crossing from the east bay into san francisco, but yeah, we're going to see more of the coastal fog keeping our inland temperatures cool. first day of school for martinez, and it's going to be in the low 60s as you're heading out the door, drop-off time partly cloudy sky but at pickup time it's in the low 80s, a little bit warm but still pretty nice compared to what we've had recently, and we're headed for 84 degrees for an afternoon high

there. for hayward expect a high of 77 degrees and 71 in san francisco and low 80s for much of the north bay, while you head to the south counties in the upper 80s, and then 90 tomorrow, so you'll see the trend. it starts to heat up each day with fairfield reaching 92 degrees, and then we're still looking at some hot weather headed into friday, although some spots like where we get a little bit more of an ocean breeze in san jose, it will come down a degree or two, so it will all depend on where you are, but we are looking at a warmup ahead, really no significant changes as far as pressure systems, but we will have a slight shift in the wind direction and take a look at napa, we go from mid 80s for today to low 90s for the weekend, and then mid-90s early next week, with those temperatures peaking on tuesday. we are once again looking at some hotter weather ahead as we look at the seven-day forecast, we go from upper 80s in our warmest spots to low 90s, and it's not a significant change,
4:49 am
but you will notice that it will be slightly more uncomfortable for the middle of the day, but san francisco's keeping it in the 60s throughout the seven-day forecast and mike, you're also looking at the going going and the fog. >> kari, that's exactly right. you showed the fog that had come down across the tops of the towers of the bay bridge but the drive was okay. the drive of the golden gate bridge for the last couple of minutes has seen a little fog. we notice the caution signs, the cones and slowing sensors because the crews are still out there on the northbound direction headed up toward sausalito. that's standard so that little bit of fog is not a major problem. we talked about santa rosa schools kicking in today and that will be the case, also we have new haven and newark over in the east bay. over in the same area we do have the niles canyon area which still has the overnight roadwork as well so keep those things in mind. this roadwork should clear up soon, the school year just getting started. mountain view and los gatos starts school today.
