seen an suv investigators say is tied to an intricate robbery in foster city. nbc bay area spoke to the victim, the 85-year-old man tells us he was shopping at costco 5:00 p.m. wednesday when a man approached him and struck up a conversation. the man ended up following him home and that's when a man and woman confronted him in his driveway, putting him in a headlock and ripping off a $30,000 rolex watch from his wrist. the victim chose not to show his face on camera. >> and i could have punched her, you know, but i thought wiser, because he may be armed and i don't think it's worth my life. >> last night police released this image of a white suv they believe is tied to the robbery, if it looks familiar, contact the foster city police department. nbc bay area exclusive, another death investigation involving an elderly resident at the atria assisted living

facility. this time it's a location in walnut creek. >> a man died after he ingested something. candace nguyen has the inside information. >> reporter: the coroner's office confirms the 94-year-old passed away. his son tells me he believes what happened to his father was similar to what happened at atria park of san mateo. although quiet outside atria park walnut creek, an internal investigation is under way after 94-year-old resident constantine canown ingentlemened a substance last week. the investigative unit was alerted to the case after covering the recent death of another atria park resident in san mateo. in that case the senior living facility said staff gave 93-year-old trudy maxwell cleaning fluid to drink because they believed it was fruit juice. two other residents drank the fluid and were hospitalized.

in response to our questions about canown's walnut creek death, the officials released a statement saying "on august 23st days before the san mateo incident a resident appeared to suffer a negative reaction to something they ingested." they go on to say "it is unclear whether the resident ingested anything harmful. we were informed he passed away due to unknown causes." the facility says the staff members involved have been suspended pending the results of their internal investigation. walnut creek police say they were consulted on this latest death but did not initiate a criminal investigation. police say the coroner's office is investigating. in their statement, atria park told us the health and safety of their residents are their highest priorities. mr. conown's son is meeting to figure out next steps. candace nguyen, "nbc bay area news." the cdc authorized the new covid booster one day after the fda approved them. the updated shots are meant to

weekend, b.a.r.t. is going to be having a weekend track shutdown between south hayward and union city, so they'll be running free buses in place of that during the construction over labor day weekend. a reminder, too, a lot of our mass transit will be running on a labor day sunday schedule headed into monday. now let's get a check of the very hot weather we're anticipating for the weekend. kari? >> at least we have still some mild weather today in comparison to what's ahead for the weekend. as we start out this morning, a live look outside in oakland. it is foggy and we'll see that low clouds and the fog sticking around for a couple more hours, as we go into today, we'll see temperatures headed for 77 degrees there. notice that it's not extremely hot just yet, but still pretty warm and san martin reaching into the upper 90s and low 90s for santa rosa and in fairfield 98 degrees, while dublin heads for 89 today. tomorrow is when the excessive heat warning will be going up starting at 11:00 in the morning

and for all of these areas in the inner bay, that's included in a heat advisory, won't get quite as hot and some of the areas, this continues through tuesday, so let's go through the temperatures. on saturday we're up to 81 in oakland. 91 in napa, and 101 in brentwood. and then on sunday, it's reaching up to the low 90s for san jose, and over 100 degrees for the tri-valley, interior parts of the east bay, as well as the north bay, and then here we are on labor day, where we see temperatures as hot as 112 degrees in brentwood and los gatos reaching 100 degrees and we're staying in the 60s and 70s near the coast, even as we go into the start of next week, with people headed back to work. it's going to be very slow to cool off so we're still seeing low to mid-90s headed into wednesday. after that, it's looking much better. when we compare what we'll see on labor day versus what's the all-time record high temperature, gilroy reaching 105
