that's what i have. the left side you see all headlights have stopped. a big rig crashed along with two other vehicles. the update from chp telling us there was a death as a result of this crash. we'll go westbound heading over to foster city. eastbound coming back. all lanes are blocked. they stopped traffic but we have a lot of folks along that flat section stuck here. that's from foster city to the east bay. do not use 92. tell your friends if they're expecting to take that route in the next few minutes. dumbarton bridge, 84, it's a little further south on 101. you can spare the time because it's very light traffic across the bay. avoid eastbound 92. the rest of the bay looking pretty calm and clear right now. vianey, the green highlighting, as you know, on our roads, means the road weather index says it might be damp in some spots because of that rain and it's not done quite yet, right?

it does coincide with your map where the rain currently is coming down. we still have the last of these storms to push through the bay area into the next couple of hours we'll continue to see and monitor the possibility of some isolated thunderstorms. they've been offshore. you see the rain pushing through parts of san francisco. we'll see the showers continue with the possibility of seeing some brief thunderstorms. and that's mainly going to be in inland areas north. looking ahead we're going to see some warmer temperatures and clearing skies with the arrival of a high pressure system and i'll talk about how that will impact us into the remainder of the workweek ahead. we have the first day of fall tomorrow. we're saying farewell to summer today. at least over the next couple of hours we're going to see still some looking ahead when it comes to those temperatures. kris, over to you. >> i'll take it from here, vianey. new overnight a warning on

the peninsula after two mountain lions were spotted hunting down a deer. the residents in the laurel wood park area saw this from the backyard at about 1:00 a.m. san mateo police are warning people to stay inside of their homes of the resident managed to scare the lion off using a flashlight but the deer did not survive. police are also saying that officers later located the two cats but did not euthanize them because the animals at the time posed no danger. breaking overnight vladimir putin upping the ante in russia's invasion of ukraine. he is making the call for hundreds of thousands of reinforcements in a new televised address to russians following a string of defeats on the battlefield and new blame on nato for misfires. president biden will try to galvanize more help and support

for ukraine. good morning, drew petrimoulx. >> reporter: good morning, kris. this is the first time in three years the meeting is being held face-to-face. addressing crisis on multiple fronts from the war in ukraine to rising prices. >> i have a number of meetings while i'm there. >> reporter: president biden will address the u.s. general assembly as war continues in ukraine. >> he'll offer a firm rebuke of the unjust war in ukraine and make a call to the world to continue to stand against the naked aggression we've seen these past several months. >> reporter: the speech comes as russia mobilizes additional troops for the war and as votes are scheduled in ukrainian territory seized by russia since its february invasion, a major concern for u.s. officials. >> if russia purports to annex

ukrainian territory, the united states will never, never recognize it. >> reporter: the impacts of the war are felt far beyond europe, triggering a food crisis in developing countries and spiking the cost of everyday goods in others putting pressure on the u.s. and its allies that are supplying war aid to ukraine. >> you have to stay the course to support ukraine and what we see now is the most dangerous at times we have seen since the second world war. >> reporter: the speech aims to garner support from world leaders including those on the fence. >> we have encouraged other countries to rethink their neutral positions but there are still others who believe that it is important for them to remain neutral. >> reporter: climate change also on the agenda today as the president and his counterparts from across the globe gather at u.n. headquarters in new york.

now as the annual meeting returns to in-person speeches there is one exception. ukrainian president volodymyr zelenskyy was granted exception to give a prerecorded speech. reporting live from washington, kris? >> thank you so much, drew. happening today the federal reserve is set to meet and raise rates by three-quarters of a point for the third consecutive time or by an unprecedented one full percentage point to 3.25%. but what happens after that is anybody's guess.
