days. we have a lot of changes ahead. let's head over to the east bay, starting out in the mid-50s and heading to the 80s at noon. it will be 82 degrees in pleasant hill so be prepared for wearing a jacket in the morning and then short sleeves and shorts. you may be looking at the calendar and it's reaching up to 95 today in livermore. 92 in napa and in novato. 86 in san mateo and 91 in los gatos today. going into tomorrow it's going to be cooling off. take a look at these numbers starting to feel a little bit better but there are still going to be some 90s and then we'll struggle to make it to the 70s by the weekend. i'll talk more about that in a few minutes. mike, you've had several crashes. is it starting to calm down? >> things look like they're okay at the bay bridge, just starting to build up. this is the issue. something going on. off 880 and going to the second

recent deadly double shooting. >> bob redell live outside that courthouse in dublin and we're talking about devin williams jr. he's expected to enter a plea this morning. >> reporter: correct. good morning to you, marcus and laura. later at 9:00, alameda county sheriff's deputy devin williams jr. will be arraigned here at the east county hall of justice behind me in dublin. he has the choice of entering a plea of not guilty or no contest to the charges that he murdered a married couple inside their nearby dublin home earlier last month. williams jr., 24 years old, had been with the sheriff's department for a year, was working at the oakland courthouse when he allegedly broke into the home of maria and benison tran and shot and killed them. law enforcement confirmed the deputy was involved in a romantic relationship with maria tran for several months. four other people were also inside the home including the couple's child, none of whom were hurt. later that day after an hours

long manhunt, he called police in dublin. the police chief convinced him to turn himself in. he has been charged with two counts of murder with an enhancement of intentional discharge of a firearm. reporting live here in dublin, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> bob, thank you. new details for you that morning. antioch police hoping these jewelry items look familiar. it would actually help them solve a disturbing mystery. they're from a woman whose body was recently found burning in a small fire on a walking trail. the ring was on her right ring finger. the metal necklace has the letter k pendent that may have included additional letters. the woman was found monday morning. she's believed to be black, under 30, about 5'6" with extensive dental work and a gap tooth. if you know anything contact antioch police. new for you this morning women of iranian descent hoping to give a voice to the

voiceless. the recent death in iran, mahsa amini, she died at the hands of morality police after being detained for wearing her head scarf improperly. on the "today" show one group of iranian americans is leading the charge for change in iran. they're sitting down with hoda. >> could you tell me what kind of courage, what kind of bravery does it take for one of these young women to go out on the street and protest? >> it takes a tremendous amount of courage, resilience and it just shows the depth of desperation on the part of the iranian population. this is the culmination of 43 years, of a regime whose legacy today has been one of egregious human rights violations. >> you can see the full interview later this morning on the "today" show at 7:00 right after us here on "today in the

bay." happening today an fda advisory panel will vote on the future of a controversial pregnancy drug. regulators are considering pulling the drug makena from the market, a synthetic hormone used to prevent premature birth. some argue there's no benefit and it creates risk to mothers including blood clots and depression. the manufacturer says the drug should be allowed pending more study. the fda will ultimately make the final decision. also happening today san jose's valley medical physicians are promising to update the status of contract talks so the union has been threatening to walk off the job. earlier this month authorized a strike. the union also says salaries are not the issue here but rather working conditions and work loads. santa clara county leaders called the threat a bargaining tactic and insist a new agreement is within reach. it is 6:06 on your wednesday morning. taking a live, clear look at san francisco before the sun's arrival this morning. things will warm up inland.

kari has a look at how it will be in the city as well. >> it's going to be really warm there as we've been talking about our summerlike temperatures. i wanted to show you where it's been the complete opposite. in the eastern hatch of the country dealing with this first big blast of some winter air and a lot of spots are below freezing. you can see how extensive that cold air is even reaching down to the gulf as we have a tale of two types of weather systems setting up here. we have the jet stream dipping all the way down with this area of low pressure and cold air spilling down while we're under this ridge and very warm temperatures coming in. all of this is about to change. we'll talk more about that in our weekend forecast in a few minutes. mike, we know we have to get to work and hoping to find some gas
