feels spooky in downtown san jose. now, as far as temperatures go, we have more fog than yesterday. we have limited visibility down to a quarter of a mile in san to -- santa rosa. what does that mean for temperatures? right now, chilly spots in the 40s and 50s but because of the blanket of fog, we're running a few degrees warmer than yesterday. look at this, areas in san carlos nine degrees warmer, san jose ten degrees warmer. coming up in the forecast, i'll guide you through the important holiday forecast in a few minutes. >> thank you. >> we have breaking news from overnight. san jose police investigating two shootings, the first one on kaufman court. multiple people were shot before 11:30 last night. two people taken to the hospital there. then, about an hour later, one man shot on madeira avenue near a halloween party. the man there has life

threatening injuries. >> she is heartbroken and traumatized, these are some of house speaker nancypelosi's first words descriing how her family feels after a man attacked her husband. thursday's attack highlights attacks towards officials nationwide. federal law enforcement is taking action. >> we actually saw cars pull up to the pelosi household and we saw lights go on upstairs for the first time since we've been here and while we don't know who is inside, we do know what happened at the pelosi home on friday morning has tapped into deep seeded fears among leaders in san francisco and across the country. for the first time since her husband was violently assaulted, house speaker nancy pelosi is responding. she described the attack on her 82-year-old husband paul as life threatening and noted the attacker demanded to confront her specifically.

>> this is the speaker of the house. this is number three in power and she's a woman and that means something, you know, in terms of male violence towards women. he was not even targeting her husband. >> reporter: university of san francisco political science professor sees this as a tipping point. it seems law enforcement agencies think so, too. this week a pennsylvania man pleaded guilty to kill eric swalwell. the u.s. capitol police report that it opened around 1800 cases in just the first three months of the year due to concerning statements and threats against members of congress. the annual case numbers have more than doubled from five years ago. state senator scott weaner who received numerous threats sees a through line. >> this is a very intentional effort to get people to demon

school bus while riding an electric scooter near campus. his team played the first game since his death. they honored number six in several ways including standing together to form a six on the field. staff and family also wore shirts with the number six or photos of camdan and when the family asked for noise instead of silence, the stadium erupted with cheers.
