possible chances of rain this week. that's not too scary. this is "today in the bay" streaming live on roku, amazon fire, apple tv and online. well, good monday morning to you. here we go getting started with the week. thanks for allowing us to be a part of your spooky halloween morning. >> don't say that. it will be safe and fine. we'll check in with mike in just a moment. first, we'll start with the forecast. would you call it spooky? >> yeah, we're going to have some clouds moving in. we're going to see a little bit of fog. we'll do what we can. as we take a live look outside in san rafael we're starting out looking good for you just bone chilling cold with temperatures in the mid-40s to start. as we go into the rest of the morning into the afternoon, we'll see more clouds moving in and we're only headed for 64 degrees today with hayward reaching 62 and 66 in novato, san francisco staying in the 50s this afternoon.

and we are getting ready for rain by tomorrow holding those temperatures down even more, so it looks really great that we are seeing this pan out for us. and there could be even more as we head into the weekend, so i'll have more on that coming up in a few minutes. mike, you were looking for a hazard on the bay bridge. >> i didn't find anything just yet. i need to look at the one shot to get oriented. i will show you there's no sensors slowing here out of san francisco. so it's the lower deck because there are two decks on the san francisco side rising up just after they exit treasure island heading back to oakland. in fact, no slowing shows up around the bay bridge or the north bay. we see that in vallejo. a smooth drive out of antioch. your first longer drive, the first shows the commute, not a problem. the one consistently showing the commute, the altamont pass. no major closures on the grid and that's great news to start your week. back to you. >> thanks so much, mike. now to a developing story

this morning. we're getting clarification about the attack on paul pelosi. >> "today in the bay's" alyssa goard on what police found inside the san francisco home. >> reporter: after a long day of waiting at san francisco general, a motorcade and law enforcement detail left the hospital. it's presumed that house speaker nancy pelosi's husband, 82-year-old paul pelosi, is still recovering after a surgery for a skull fracture he sustained when an attacker assaulted him with a hammer. we ran into one of the pelosi's children, paul pelosi jr., as he was leaving the hospital. we asked how his dad was doing and he told us, quote, they're rebuilding him carefully. on the other side of the city san francisco district attorney brooke jenkins was at a halloween event. she told us she expects to file state charges against the suspect, david depape. >> at this point anticipate filing attempted murder charges as well as residential burglary and several other felonies. >> reporter: federal agencies

are carrying out a parallel investigation to determine whether depape will face federal charges. as this unfolds more details on the attack are coming to light. san francisco police say zip ties were found at the scene, though they did not say how many or the intended purpose for them. the district attorney says investigators want to clear up a few things.
