i'm kira klapper. meteorologist vianey arana joins us with your microclimate forecast, and i am so happy to see you. >> i'm happy to see you too. >> i haven't been here in almost a month it feels like. >> i'm happy to see you too. welcome back. we've got the weekend squad back together, and just in time for the rain, kira. so if you're going to be out and about, probably within the next 30 minutes, you'll still see some of this wet pavement, but today's just the beginning of a pretty much unsettled weather pattern that we're going to head into over the next couple of days. we're going to get a little bit of shower activity right now. we've also got fog. you can see that system just to our north. this isn't the strongest of the systems, it's going to bring us more of a spotty shower chance. look at the fog in through hayward, about a quarter of a mile down to about livermore. you can see san jose, morgan hill down to about 4 or 5 miles. and your current temperatures in the 50s to start but we do have this warmer air mass. we're actually a few degrees warmer right now compared to those cold 30s that we've seen. here's a look at what we're

happens. now to developing news. a heartbreaking discovery for the family of alexis gabe who's been missing for nearly a year. oakley police confirmed gabe's remains have been found. this revelation coming in a press release from the oakley police department and the gabe family's post on their facebook page. forensic scientists examined the remains and dental records confirm it is, in fact, alexis gabe. the time line coming from antioch police begins on january 26th, the last day alexis was seen alive and it ends on june 2nd when police announced alexis's ex-boyfriend was killed by authorities in washington state where they tried to arrest him for her murder. according to oakley police, it was thursday afternoon when a plymouth resident discovered something suspicious. the person believed they came across human remains. plymouth is about 80 miles away from antioch, the last place where alexis was seen.

in a press release, police say, quote, due to the nature of the condition of alexis' remains and lack of her full body, we do believe her remains are scattered in various areas and that there will never be a full recovery of her body. . there have been countless searches for gabe over the last ten months. her family determined to find her. we reached out to them. they are asking for privacy at this time. a news conference is set for early next week. we continue to follow breaking news overnight on the peninsula where at least two people are dead in a crash that may have resulted from street racing in redwood city. the fiery crash happened just after 8:00 last night not far from the border with san carlos. fire crews say seven people were involved in the crash. crews rescued at least one person from a car that was on fire. two others were rescued by bystanders and were taken to a

nearby apartment complex to be cared for. police say one car was being driven by a 17-year-old who had two passengers. we're told they all have nonlife-threatening injuries. the driver and the front passenger were trapped inside and killed. police have not confirmed how the crash happened, but witnesses say they saw two cars racing down el camino rial and at least one of them hit another car trying to turn onto the main artery. >> i was in my car, and i guess two cars sped past driving really fast, and this other car came out and was like boom, just shattered. i feel bad for those people in there. >> reporter: again, the cause of that crash is still under investigation. today community members in san jose will hold a march in response to the recent tragedy of an 8-year-old boy killed in a crosswalk on his way to school. that accident you may remember

happened in september near castlemont elementary school. the boy's baby-sitter also was hit and injured. the driver did stay at the scene. alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the accident. the march will start at 3131 cadillac drive around 10:15 this morning: it will end at st. lucy church at 11:00. only on nbc, a violent armed robbery and assault in san francisco's mission district caught on camera. you can see three armed men beating workers in a convenience store. those workers are still terrified and fellow merchants in the mission say they are fed up with the crime and unanswered calls toll make the neighborhood safe "today in the bay's" gia vang is
