will be going into detail in my next forecast. there's a lot of instability. because this is a colder system we are talking about the possibility for hail and we'll talk about the gusty winds and the timing of it, how this could impact not only monday night but tuesday. more details on that, of course, coming up in a few minutes. we have to check in with mike. an alert that will take time to clear and moments later they did clear it. an 18-wheeler involving a crash north of the carquinez bridge. we'll track it, of course. the crash just past happy valley road looks like it may be cleared into the center divide, blocking your fast lane.

we'll continue to track those. a little bit of slowing on a monday morning and the green highlighting over here in the east san jose hills. >> you can track the rain with us on air or find us online or take us on the go. another social media giant appears poised to make cuts after twitter lays off about half of its staff. >> kris sanchez with a look at how soon this could happen. meta could lay off dozens of employees as early as this week and mark zuckerberg seemed to hint at it at an earnings call. he said in 2023 we will focus our investment on a small number of high priority growth areas.

that means some will grow and others will shrink over the next year. >> i think he's realized his broader vision will not pay off in the short term and he needs to regroup when projects he will put money into. >> now we talked with an analyst at san jose state who said the bay area tech companies are bracing for enduring inflation and the result of tomorrow's election. meta's news comes days after elon musk and twitter laid off half of the workforce including 900 in the bay area. ad revenue is down and just overhiring. several companies are realizing this now.

there was a hiring boom just before the pandemic and facebook meta doesn't include 2022. look at the hiring curve, the amount of employees throughout the year, they hired and hired and hired. they just weren't prepared for the downturn. >> thank you, scott. you always get us into the nitty-gritty. laura, back to you. happening today former mixed martial arts star cain velasquez is due back in court. in january they say he shot into a pickup truck carrying a man accused of sexually assaulting one of his relatives. they later arrested him in gilroy.

democracy, and praised job gains under democratic leadership. this weekend was filled with last-minute campaigning by mr. biden and past presidents in the keystone state. poised to make another run at the white house putting the blame on those in power now for americans' economic woes. >> if you want to stop the destruction of our country and save the american dream then this tuesday you must vote republican in a giant red wave. >> reporter: the final nbc news poll shows president biden's approval at only 44%. >> this election is about the biden agenda. people don't like high inflation, high crime, open borders, fentanyl. >> reporter: abortion is also on the ballot and is among the key issues democrats are focusing on. >> we're going to defend our mainstream democratic values against the threat to our democracy. we're going to protect women's

really big impact. this will be fantastic for the sierra snowpack. about one-third of california's water supply and we would love to see that replenished in this initial storm and next week's storm we'll get a good amount of that. a check on gas prices. talking about water and trying to replenish them. gas prices in the south bay, your best price in cupertino was at cupertino car wash. car washes sometimes are better at conserving the water so consider that. just a note, a consumer note. the car wash is the cheapest in the city at $4.89. san ramon ties the low at $4.79. safeway also $4.79. some equal time there. san rafael, the arco has the same price, $4.79. that's a popular price. do your bargain hunting there. over to the rest of the bay.
