good tuesday morning. at 4:41, you need the umbrella. the rain will be off and on and most of it is on for the north bay while lot spotty elsewhere. we'll be tracking the showers the next few hours before it starts to wind down. i'll have more on the chilly temperatures ahead in our next storm coming up. and you can kind of sheen see the sheen here. and we still have the wet roadways, so watch those speeds. this is as you are traveling north, a little slowing out of fran. but first, let's check in with silvana henao. >> good morning. wall street is set to open a little higher after the market sold off yesterday. the dow you will taking nearly 500 points while the s&p 500 dropped 1.8% and the nasdaq by nearly 2%. stocks coming under pressure

welcome back. we are looking over here at the golden gate bridge where the crew stationed here moving north getting ready to pick up all the cones. still a few here as you travel north from san francisco and a little slowing across the span as crews travel north there. also another crew here where we've been telling you about it for weeks. and you see the wet roadways dominating. and through the south bay as well. over toward the tri-valley, a mild build here out of the altamont pass. no real issues as far as the timing. we're looking at minimum brentwood from marsh creek basically down to 580.
4:48 am
same thing for the altamont pass. no slowing but we'll have slicker roadways here this morning. >> yeah, looks like a sloppy commute through the north bay as we take a live look outside. we can see those taillights there. and most likely the windshield wipers on as we see the rain moving through the north bay. we'll see the wet weather continue for a little while longer and we've also seen some pockets of some heavy rain that we're dealing with especially as you move through santa rose as well as petaluma, the rain getting always lighter there compared to san rafael, as well as the richmond/san rafael bridge getting a heavy down downpour. toward danville, showers starting to taper on. and 280 is looking like that is a bit of a headache there, sloppy commute as well. and then we head over toward the south county where you are getting a break from the rain now, but it is about to head back in as we see more of the heavy downpours move over the santa cruz mountains and off
4:49 am
towards the east. so we'll continue to see this pattern as least through 8:00 to 9:00, but then it becomes a lot more spotty in terms of where we're seeing the rain. at noon, we're not seeing much at all, but there still will be a slight chance at even the south bay could see some rain into the 5:00 hour while other areas are seeing some sunshine today. later on tonight, the sky clears and then we're dry for at least a couple of days before the rain comes back late thursday and continues into friday. so as far as temperatures, we're in the upper 50s for today. much more of the same tomorrow and thursday and then the next storm am is moving in. and we're looking at additional rainfall on top of what we're already measured. some spots could get another 2 to 3 inches in the north bay. 1 to 2 inches across much of the rest of the bay area while the sierra gets more snow, there may be at least 2 to 4 more feet of
4:50 am
snow throughout the weekend. so we do have a bigger storm system that will be arriving heading into saturday and you can see how long that rain lingers. and then there could be another storm system behind that for next tuesday. so not letting up with the rain here and i think that we'll take it because we do need the rain so desperately. we are getting it as we go through this forecast. and temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. and for san francisco, we'll also be in the mid-50s in the forecast. cool temperatures and also very cool mornings. as we turn to our climate in crisis, giant sequoias are the largest tree on the planet found only here in california. but the majestic sequoias that are existed for thousands of years are nearing extinction as our lack of forest management have cost an overpopulation and as well as explosive and intense wildfires made worse by climate change has killed 20% of giant
