alright, here we go. it is our fashion celebration. welcome to the weekend edition of "access hollywood." i'm scott evans, here with our guest co-host, the always stylish courtney lopez. >> thank you for having me. >> come on. so good to have you here. now, listen, the entire show is dedicated to fashion and the stars that helped make it big this year. 2022, big year for it. >> yeah, this year brought the red carpet back big time. so it wasn't easy choosing our top five looks of 2022. but style expert zanna roberts rassi made the tough calls, beginning with timothée chalamet at the venice film festival. >> timothée chalamet always pushing boundaries on the red carpet. he's a major risk taker, and this was one of his most incredible looks. it was a backless haider ackermann blood red jumpsuit. timothée channels the sexy men's wear movement, which is not aggressive men's wear. it's more feminine, soft looks seen on guys. >> while his risky red look

takes our number five spot, timothée also blurred gender lines at the oscars, where he wore shimmering louis vuitton women's wear, complete with 15,000 sequins. making the ensemble a bit more daring, he opted to go completely shirtless underneath before switching things up at the vanity fair afterparty. >> he wears denim and leather in this fantastic mcqueen suit? he never does the expected. he's always going to twist it up. blake lively literally transformed in front of our very eyes on the met gala steps. this versace two-in-one dress was an homage to the most incredible new york city iconic architecture. >> this is the constellation from grand central station. this is architecture from the empire state building, statue of liberty. >> it's got an incredible bow around the waist, which when she stepped onto the steps, was undone and it fell down into a train that was like 20 foot behind. the idea that she went from a copper dress into a green dress was representing the oxidization of new york city landmarks, specifically the statue of liberty.

this was quite the process to watch. blake didn't do many red carpets this year, but when she did, she really made a splash. lake showed up at the forbes power summit to announce her fourth pregnancy on a red carpet wearing a shimmering valentino dress in six-inch stacked heels. the girl knows the power of a moment. >> and coming in at number three, zendaya's voluminous valentino gown paired with bulgari jewels at this year's emmys. >> zendaya channeled old school hollywood glamour in this grace kelly-esque dress. a couple of nights before the emmys, i was texting with a stylist, law roach, who told me they didn't even have a dress yet. this dress came together very last minute. valentino created three dresses for her. i'm very glad they went with this one. >> break down this fashion. this is a great exclusive. >> oh, my socks. >> oh, my goodness. >> and my shoes. >> yes! >> i love it! >> i have, like, my shorts on. >> yes! >> keeping it comfy under there. >> zendaya's worn some of the

most incredible looks this year. the emmys afterparty in the julia roberts red valentino, and the oscars, breaking all red carpet rules in a white shirt and a silver sparkly skirt, a la sharon stone and the valentino show wearing a crystallized bodysuit. zendaya can even make a great monochromatic pantsuit look fantastic at the "euphoria" event. with all eyes on florence pugh, she definitely delivered at the venice film festival. show this incredible valentino couture dress. she had hot pants underneath, acres and acres of tulle covered in glitter. her stylist, rebecca corbin murray, told me that she wanted to lean into the old school hollywood drama, but also be super playful with it. >> doubling down on sheer styles, florence also dared to bare in this pink tulle gown by valentino while attending the designer's haute couture show in rome. >> it was pretty sheer and risque at the top, and she was not one little bit nervous about wearing it, which she's very open about and she absolutely delivered when it came to the fashion.

kerry washington is the fashion risk taker we never actually saw coming. she's working with law roach and she has been killing it on the carpet. point in case, this dresses by celia kritharioti. it's couture, and it was walking optimism. not many people can carry this neon color off, but kerry absolutely does. >> i remember we put that gown on and we were like, okay, this is the one to be. nothing stood up to that one. >> where are the roller skates? >> i was going to roller skate here. if i fall here, it's in front of a lot of people. must give an honorable mention to the fully beaded gold zuhair murad look that she wore for beyoncé's roller disco party. the turban, the jacket, the miniskirt, the fringe. wow. >> well, that is a well-deserved honor. alright, scott, what is this about a lizzo surprise? >> oh, courtney, i got you. okay, so we all know that she is a style icon wearing some incredible looks, right? well, she also came to the rescue after a fan

made a tiktok plea for lizzo please to help with a fashion emergency. >> [ laughs ] >> did you ever think that lizzo would actually send you this dress? >> no. i mean, i'm a stranger. [ sobs ] >> an emotional fairytale moment for lizzo fan aurielle marie. >> can i please, please, please, wear your dress from the 2022 emmys? please? >> the writer and poet reached out to lizzo ahead of one of the biggest moments of their career, "out" magazine's out 100 event honoring influential members of the lgbtqia community. and aurielle explained finding a plus size gown for the occasion had been difficult. granting their wish, lizzo sent the stunning gown she wore while performing at the 2019 amas. on tiktok, lizzo explained that the emmy dress aurielle initially requested wasn't in the best condition. >> i was so emotional and drunk the night of the emmys that i completely destroyed my emmy's dress. my ama's dress was very similar to my emmys dress and just as cute, honestly. >>not me in lizzo's dress! i keep telling myself, aurielle,

don't be silly. it's just a dress. i'm really grateful because i think that everyone deserves to feel this beautiful. >> well, listen, she is right about that. >> now, as we celebrate fashion throughout the show, we will also take a look back at some memorable looks with our fashion flashback. and first up is carrie underwood. zuri hall sat down with carrie. >> 2018 cmcma award. i think k this mightht be mymy favorite look. >> it can be hard when you're relatively pretty pregnant to like -- you stitill want to f feel good a about yoursrse. but it -- i remember putting that dress on, and i was like, "this is it." like, it wasn't a maternity dress. so i probably stretched it outu. i'i'm sorry toto the desigigner. >> the 2016 cma awards. >> i feel like when i put that dress on, i felt like a princess. i mean, it's pink and it was poofy and lots of sparklkles. you can'n't see quitite how muct sparklkles in thisis picture,, but it was very sparkly.

were the most iconic couple in the '90s before calling it quits in '97. >> i know, but it was back when she was dating brad that it seems she really found her own sense of style. >> and now she is taking us through a few of her most memorable '90s looks. >> we just need to get into this iconic moment. >> it's a good one. >> what do you rememember most about this. rocking a red velvet pantsuit paired with a blue button up to the 1996 mtv vmas, gwyneth reveals she styled the memorable fashion moment all on her own. >> so this was like whwhen tom forord took ovever gi and it was like the biggest thing that hahad happeneded to the '9'90s. and these were like before the days of stylists or anything, so i just liked it and i asked if i could borrow that. and thenen -- there e it goes. >> and gwyneth liked the look so much she donned a reimagined version of the ensemble just last year while attending the gucci love parade in november. there's nothing i love more than a converse. what d do you rememember aboutut ththis night p putting thisis look togegether? >> that's another gucci shirt. i remember that.

>> attending the 1996 premiere of "from dusk till dawn," gwyneth complemented her gucci shirt with a matching black skirt, elevating the laid back look with a long leopard print coat. >> it was cute.. >> yeaeah. it's c cute. >> you k know, it's s like the , i guess i i was, you k know, it w was my thining. it wasas working o out. >> and we've got this one. this might be my favorite. it's such h a big nighght. ththis was "shshakespeare e in " >> that's right. that was a premiere of "shakespeare in love" in new york city. >> for the film's 1998 debut, gwyneth stunned in a sheer giorgio armani gown, embellished with beaded embroidery. >> i had actually worn that inin a photo s shoot a fewew wes before, anand i was lilike, i realally -- thinink i can bobw this foror the premimiere. soso they sent it to me. >> oh, no. you don't say no to gwyneth. >> no, you do not. not me. well, since we are having some fashion flashback fun, i figure we can't overlook natalie portman. so let's start it all off with "star wars: revenge of the sith," the premiere at cannes in 2005. >> okay, this is just so

bad ass. >> thank you. i had just shaved my head for "v for vendetta." and so that was kind of the first time anyone had seen it, because it was before the movie was out. i loved having a shaved head. >> would you ever return to it? >> you know, growing it out, i hate because i have really curly hair. and when it's short, it's like really complicated, but the shaved head was awesome. >> this is one of your first red carpets ever. >> yes. >> 1994. >> that's the premiere of "the professional." and my mom got me that cow print faux fur jacket right before, and i loved it. and the dress is like betsey johnson, which is just the most '90s. like, i love it so much. >> this. >> i mean, can we just take a moment for the oscars. >> aww, thanks. there was a dress made by my dear friend kate and laura mulleavy who designed rodarte, and it was so special to wear something made by people i love.

>> yeah. >> when i was also like -- i was so pregnant and just wanted to... >> is this like the uncomfortable phase? like, all you want to do is not be at the oscars? >> i definitely -- i definitely would have preferred to have been anywhere. just being in front of people when you're pregnant, you just kind of want to like, make a nest and, like, stay in your nest. that was in venice. >> 2018. >> yeah, and it's such a beautiful dress. as a small woman to have shoulders. >> yeah. >> like today, i have shoulder pads, is very, i don't know. you just feel like bigger. >> yeah, stronger. >> like in the space. >> yeah, like, get out of my way. >> yes. >> yeah, i'm here. >> yes. >> move. >> yes. >> that is supermodel paulina porizkova at the spring 1988 calvin klein show. she dominated the runway in the '80s and the '90s and went on to marry one of the biggest rockers in music, ric ocasek. she writes all about it in her new memoir, "no filter." and it turns out that is the perfect title because she is telling it all. kit hoover and i sat down with her. were there parts of that you

as you were getting ready that you were like, i don't know if i'm going to be able to tell this part of the story? >> no, i am completely unfiltered -- "no filter" -- >> right. >> about myself. >> in "no filter, paulina traces the highs and lows of her career, opening up about her struggle with anxiety and her love story with cars frontman ric ocasek. >> i saw a video of him on mtv long before i met him, which was a solo video, so it only said his name, ric ocasek. i thought he was so beautiful in sort of an alien looking way. >> ♪ when you fall ♪ >> at 19, paulina went on to star in the cars 1984 music video "drive." >> i booked the job. i had no idea that the cars had ric ocasek in it. >> oh, come on. >> and the door open, and then ric walked out and i -- >> lost it. >> well, i started hyperventilating, actually. >> what? >> well, yeah, i couldn't breathe. i was like [panting]. oh, my god, it's the guy from the video. you said you knew in that moment that was your husband. >> when i saw him across the room,

like coming out -- walking out of the door, i was like, that's -- that's it. that's him. that's who i've been waiting for. wow. >> yeah. >> the couple married in 1989 when she was 24 and he was 45. they had two sons before separating in 2018, but even then, the two stayed close until his death a year later when paulina found him unresponsive. she later discovered she was taken out of his will. he passes away and you get the will, and what happened? >> well, the will that i got a couple of days later said there was a little amendment to it that said i will not provide for my wife because she abandoned me. it didn't make any sense to me because we were still living together. i was taking care of him while he was recuperating. >> was there ever any sort of understanding of how or why that would have been a note added? >> i'm never going to get that moment, and this is where i make a real conscious choice on just in being grateful

all the love we had. >> you know what i love too, paulina? you've made such a conscious effort to make sure that it's great for your two sons and their view of their father. >> it was really tricky at times because there were times where i raged at my husband and not -- i couldn't successfully keep it in myself at all times, so i think -- >> nor should you, honestly. >> well, you know what? he was a wonderful dad to our children, a wonderful dad. and they miss him every single day. >> now, at 57, paulina is modeling her natural beauty and is open to finding love again. >> is there a world where paulina is on the apps? >> no. >> paulina is on the apps. >> yes! >> i think dating in middle age is a little bit, like, it's a breakfast buffet table in a hotel. whatever is left it's because somebody -- because nobody else wanted it. >> right? >> selection is not grand,

but my hope is that, in fact, the thing that's actually really good and healthy for you might have been overlooked. >> oh, she is amazing. "no filter" is available wherever books are sold. well, supermodel iman had a very happy marriage to music icon david bowie, who passed away almost seven years ago. and now she tells us about their first meeting where it was love at first sight for david. but as for her? well... >> first of all, it was a blind date. i was apprehensive. do i want to start a relationship with somebody so public? but, you know, he moved wooed me like a gentleman. and then one of my favorite memories is my first week that we were walking down the street in l.a. and my shoe laces came untied and he got on his knees and tied my shoes. and nobody did that for me since i was two years old. so i was like, "oh, he's the one." >> that shoe tied led to tying the knot. iman and david wed in tuscany

in 1992. the pair remained married until david's untimely death in 2016. >> i wore his fragrance for the past five years to have him close to me day and night. >> and her memories of their love story inspired her new fragrance love memoir. >> it was part of him and part of me. it has bergamot and black currant that is inherent to tuscany. and we got married in florence, so all those memories that we shared, it's in this bottle. >> in 1995, the couple was all about romance. gazing into each other's eyes at the bulgari gala in versailles, france. iman rocking a bold leopard print dress. >> i'm wearing azzedine alaia. i wooed him in a azzedine alaia. >> in 1991, the supermodel wasn't afraid to try on a new style. >> the tall hair braids, and then i'm wearing a platinum blonde wig. i think i was channeling madonna. > a vision n in gold. imanan hit that t 2021 met g gaa in the s showstoppining dolce and gabbana and harrison
