deadly tornado leveled much of mayfield, kentucky, the community is working to rebuild. lee si rse ya y has the story. >> reporter: we see a community starting all over again. and it sure has a long way to go but the town is getting advice from another city that knows exactly what they're going through. joplin, missouri a monster tornado killed more than 160 people there in 2011, and nearly 13 years later, they're still building back. >> they tell us ten years. so i'm not expecting anything shorter than that. >> reporter: right now, mayfield's mayor says city and county leaders are devising a long-term plan for basic infrastructure, like housing and transportation no doubt, that's important but some tornado survivors miss what can't be built.

it's not too late, though it seems like artemis is back on earth the orion capsule splashed down in the pacific ocean yesterday the 26-day mission is the first step in eventually getting astronauts back to the moon. nbc's lindsey reiser has more. circumstances well, this was a big test for orion's heat shield, making sure it could withstand 5,000 crease fahrenheit, taking in at 24,000 at 500 miles per hour. also a big test for the parachute. let's show you the flight path of where orion has been. orion first did a close fly-by of the moon. then went into distant retr retrograde this is farther than any vehicle built by humans have gone. then orion did another close fly-by around 79 miles away interest the moon and used help from the moon's gravity, a lunar gravity assist to slingshot it back on a trajectory back for earth. there are obviously a lot of
