hello, friday, good morning. i'm ginger conejero saab in for laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington, one of the many people shopping for last-minute gifts. >> true story. >> mike has a look at the commute coming up but first the forecast. how is it looking? not as much fog around the bay area and it's not as cold, but we are starting out with heavy jacket weather with temperatures in the low 40s in livermore. we're seeing mid-40s for much of the north bay. we are starting out with cool conditions and a lot of humidity. take a look at where we're headed today and tomorrow with temperatures reaching into the mid-60s for the south bay and low 60s for the inland east bay. so we're going to have a nice, quiet start to our holiday weekend. we'll talk about what's ahead after that. mike, you are watching several issues out there on the roads. that's right. we start with a called fire, a report of a pickup truck.

there are chemicals on the back of the truck, and they're having trouble putting this fire out. wildcat canyon is the closest cross street. no one is reportedly in danger. i don't hear about anybody even near the truck except for the crews trying to put the vehicle out. 24 is fine. near sfo an issue of a crash. concern for anyone heading to the airport but that just cleared. from the bahamas to federal prison, ftx co-founder and fraudster sam bankman-fried is headed home to the bay area. the man known as the devil in nerds clothes was released on a record $250 million bond yesterday. >> he'll be under house arrest at his parents' palo alto home. gia vang with what's next for the disgraced king of crypto.

>> reporter: a federal judge set strict terms. he'll be on house arrest at his parents' home. the barricades remained well into the night with a police officer watching guard. just shortly after sam bankman-fried, or sbf, was released from federal custody wearing an ankle monitor. he's awaiting trial for misusing $8 billion deposited into ftx, the collapsed firm he co-founded. >> it was unregulated and has no oversight. >> reporter: tom also lives on the stanford campus and is learning the details of sbf's release, that he posted a $250 million cognizance bond, secured by his parents' home in stanford, the largest ever pretrial bond they're aware of. >> he's not free. he's on house arrest which is

essentially jail. just jail at home. >> reporter: two of sbf's top business partners pleaded guilty to fraud charges and are cooperating with the investigation. >> hopefully there will be new laws and guidelines for how crypto is supposed to function. >> reporter: the next court date is january 3 where he had enter his plea and be arranged. a devastating robbery for a family owned robbery store in san jose. someone or several people broke into alpull co-jewelers on post street downtown. the owners dispatched police, but officers got there too late to catch anyone. they say it's the first in their 40 years in business. the place was gutted and more than $100,000 worth of merchandise stolen. a granddaughter who works at the store says she's thankful no one got hurt.

good friday morning. at 4:47 we have a lot of things we're watching including the coastal flooding that will continue today due to king tides. all of these areas highlighted in green including the inner bay and parts of the coastline will be under the coastal flood advisory from this morning and again the next couple of mornings due to king tides bringing the tide further inland. as we take a look at the radar we had a couple of very spotty sprinkles earlier this morning. now that's already starting to

clear out. our temperatures are headed for the mid-60s. gradually the sky will start to clear today with martinez staying cool. upper 50s there as well as much of the north bay in the upper 50s. the fog lingering longer that's been coming through the delta and into parts of the north bay. san mateo will head for 630 degrees, we'll reach 64 in los gatos as well as san jose and in morgan hill today. as we go into the day tomorrow slightly warmer in some spots in the south bay and then on christmas day it gets even warmer with some spots near 70 degrees. it's going to be really nice on christmas day. even christmas eve if you're spending time around the bay area going to the 49ers game. really perfect weather with upper 60s throughout the afternoon. but we've been talking so much about how cold it's been for much of the rest of the country with a look at those high temperatures in the teens and 20s and those morning temperatures below zero in a lot of spots.

early next week we'll see several storms coming in. several rounds of rain throughout much of next week and the possibility of several inches of rain running the computer model all throughout next week with 3 to 5 inches of rain and a lot of snow for the sierra, the potential up to 45 inches of snow at some resorts. we're looking good through christmas day and then after that we'll be watching a lot of wet weather coming in. mike, you are watching a crash in san jose. >> not a major issue but the off ramp south 880 at montague expressway. crews there at an earlier crash, there was no one in the vehicle. i don't think they found anyone around the vehicle. some may have been borrowing a vehicle. 880 is fine.
