lunar new year that celebration, though, obviously quickly turning to horror and heartache >> all unit reese quested. multiple victims gunshot wounds. >> reporter: a spray of gunfire cuts through a packed monterey park dance club, the scene complete chaos as police first arrived. >> my young officers did their job, searched for a suspect, and then came back and had to deal with the carnage that was inside and it was extensiveextensive. >> reporter: ten dead, ten more wounded. the suspect, according to police, on the run, showing up at a similar ballroom in nearby alhambra 20 minutes later where he was confronted by people inside the club. >> he was disarmed by two community members who i consider to be heroes because they saved lives. >> reporter: as he escapes, witnesses get a glimpse of his vehicle. >> they have this white cargo van completely surrounded now.

>> reporter: police tracking it down 12 hours later in torrance. inside, 72-year-old huu can tran, the man responsible for the killing spree, dead. evidence inside the van ties tran to both location. what it doesn't do is help to explain how or why it happened and it does little to ease the concerns of this frightened, grieving community. >> hearing this happen now is very shocking, very sad, you know, because it's just confirming there's no safe place anymore. >> reporter: officials haven't released the name of the victims. police tell us there are five men, five women, describing them as, quote, probably in their 50s, 60s, and beyond

in an unprecedented move, the fbi found more classified documents. brie, good morning what do we know more about what was found? >> reporter: this bombshell was dropped by the president's white house itself the justice department conducted a 13-hour search or the delaware home on friday and says six additional items, including documents with classified markings were found. some of them date back to president biden's time in the senate and when he was vice president. mr. biden's legal team points out that this latest search was done without the need for a warrant unlike the fbi seedure at former president donald trump's estate >> he's not resisting an investigation. he's not stonewalling.

a nightclub early sunday morning. three officers were outside of the club when the gunfire began and were able to immediately respond and administer life-saving aid until emergency responders arrived they believe the shooting was a targeted attack. all of the victims were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition. police ask if anyone has information torsion please come forward. the doj has launched an investigation into abbott laboratories almost a year after it shut down the michigan baby formula plant due to infants becomingle that shutdown contributed to a nationwide baby formula shortage a spokesperson told nbc news that they are fully cooperating. this comes after a report from "the wall street journal" reported that the company was under a criminal investigation nbc news has not independently confirmed this. >> today marks the first day of jury selection in the jury trial
