you. 4:30 right now. thank you for starting your day with us. i am laura garcia. >> i am marcus washington. we will look at the commute in a minute, but first let's look at the forecast for you. >> we are seeing temperatures in parts of the north bay as part of the tri-valley dipping into the mid-30s. it's cold there, and san francisco starting out the morning at 48 degrees. we do need the layers through the start of the day, but look at this afternoon. this will be the warmest day of the week as we head for 68 degrees in fremont. 69 in san josé. low 70s for morgan hill and san martin. for the north bay, mid to upper 60s. we will talk about big changes for the weekend. that's coming up. so far it looks like a smooth commute. focusing on the bay bridge, from the east bay across i-80,

no delays. no problems with the toll plaza. getting to that area, also a nice drive through alameda county and the maze. we do have a disabled vehicle west highway 4 around the 242 interchange. it should be in the center divide, and there's debris so watch for that. we do have northbound 680 with the overnight road crews still going on through sunol. there was an emergency roadwork through niles and looks like that has cleared. the clock is ticking for rescuers to find survivors following the deadly earthquake in turkey and syria. >> that death toll exceeded 17,000. here's a live look with the

are. let's take a live look on the bay bridge toll plaza. the cars are getting started with the day and so are we. we will get you started with the forecast this morning, but before we get to that, the roads are looking good. >> my forecast is cold. we are going to start in the south bay because we have potential hazards. i talked about it being cold, but there's a fire reported near

monterey road near tully. it's on state route 22, which is monterey road. we heard about another hazard, a possible disabled vehicle and it's not a big deal as far as the speed sensors are concerned. and 580 out of the altamont pass, so far no major interruptions for the commute. the golden gate bridge, the cones are standard operations with the overnight crew. if you have a little time this morning, call somebody up and say, hey, can we carpool today? we are going to have unhealthy air quality for some and moderate air quality across the bay area, and some of the worst will be in santa clara valley. we talked about how high

pressure pushes the air back down to the surface and that's when we have to breathe due to the conditions. for tomorrow we will be much cooler. we could see a dip of at least ten degrees in some spots. the cooling trend continues into saturday, but let's talk about why. we will see a cold front coming in and it could briefly bring in spotty showers late tomorrow night. we see the wave of rain coming in and then it falls apart. not everybody will see the rain chances. i think the highest chance will be in parts of the north bay and then it clears out on saturday but there still may be spotty showers at least for saturday morning before it all clears out. as far as how much rain we could see, it's really not that much. it could be trace amounts for most spots, and no measurements in other areas, and then up to a

10th of an inch. initially we were seeing rain chances. looks like as of now things are drying up out there. we are going to see temperatures cooling off significantly, going from the upper 60s today to upper 50s for saturday. also, breezy out there and then a gradual warm-up for the beginning of next week as the sunshine continues. at times, gusty winds with our temperatures still going up and down. now let's turn to our climate in crisis. valentine's day is fast approaching but you may be looking for a more ecoway of showing your love. they could help purify your air and last longer. and if you are looking at fresh-cut flowers, look where they come from.
