yesterday. we are headed for 60 degrees in fremont and 59 in san martin. still overall a cool day where you may have to keep that jacket on. mike, you were hearing about a overturned big rig. >> yeah, out of the altamont pass things are jamming up. this is apparently on its side on the shoulder, and a couple other vehicles on scene there as well. no major injuries reported, but chp did call for an ambulance. it's a distraction at the very least. the rest of the tri-valley only has the construction on north 680, and that's the only issue the chp is reporting. back over to you. >> thanks, mike. the search begins this morning for oakland's new police chief after the mayor fired

welcome back, folks. let's look at the traffic flow, and we have the paving work going on until just after 5:00 when they will finally clear northbound 680 of overnight roadwork. and over here we don't have a closure. no lanes are blocked. just got that confirmed by chp, and even the slow lane is open but the big rig on the shoulder overturned on its side, that's the problem, a detraction. a lot of slowing out of the altamont pass. it's right before the exit. if you get on at carol you should be okay moving towards the dublin interchange. and highway 4 and 160, that's

the antioch bridge, and they are repairing potholes so there could be some distractions. watch for crews in the next few minutes. kari, we saw part of the crews clearing across the golden gate bridge. the temperatures are dropping. it's a cold start this morning as we are below freezing right now in parts of the north bay. look at santa rosa, 30 degrees. 32 in napa. 31 in livermore. 32 in san martin. hopefully you did have a chance to cover any sensitive plants and also taking care of any animals that are left outside. for today our temperatures will head for the upper 50s and low 60s. it's about the same temperature wise as yesterday but we're not going to see as much sunshine. in fact, we are seeing clouds move in ahead of the next system that will be dropping down the coast. we are not expecting any rain out of this, but we are going to see at least some high clouds

filtering the sunshine for us for today. we can see that all of the rain staying offshore. for tomorrow we are looking at clear conditions and much warmer temperatures go into the weekend. then i am stopping it for next week on wednesday. we will see our next chance of rain coming back into the bay area. looks like scattered showers and it just lingers in the area and may continue into next sunday as we will see a big change in our overall weather pattern that may bring in much more rain. the possibility of rain is right now totaling about half an inch for parts of the bay area, but higher for the sierra where there could be several feet of snow next weekend. we will definitely be watching that beyond the 7-day forecast, but the rain chances do start to increase heading into the middle of next week. for this weekend it looks so nice out there. mid to upper 60s and sunshine. hopefully you have plans to get outside and you also will have a chance to enjoy president's day.
