we will show overall the bay showing a lighter volume of traffic. the section on the lower left, that is highway 9. we heard from caltrans and they will have to keep that section closed for a while because of the storm damage. and they won't have a chance to repair all that work. there's repair work going on for highway one in the north bay, and there was major potholes through the area. the pavement work for north 680 coming up through sunol, that should be finished shortly. the altamont pass is moving smoothly. here are your travel times. construction on 680 is counter commute. your commute direction, kari, is moving smoothly with a clear view there and a clear view across the bay bridge. let's head to the north bay with a look at san rafael right now starting out with cold

temperatures right now. we're at 45 degrees right now. the wind is calm and we will see the temperatures going down a few more degrees right around sunrise. then starting to go back up for today, but we will keep the jackets on all throughout today as we only make it into the 50s for this afternoon. we are also going to be watching more rain ahead. as of now we can see the next long line of clouds and also some rain further to the north, but it doesn't get here until saturday, so in the meantime we are warming up and seeing high pressure over us and our temperatures reaching into the upper 50s across the bay area. going into tomorrow, we will bring it up a couple more degrees for some areas, but pretty much the same. 59 in san josé and concord. on saturday it will be cooler. as we look at our outlook for the next week to ten days, it's going to be much colder than normal as well as wetter than

normal. i think this is the kind of weather we have seen recently. there's no change even taking it almost to the middle of march, all across the west and even for parts of the south they are going to see a lot more rainfall. the next storm system arrives right around 11:00 on saturday for parts of san francisco, the peninsula. it will be earlier for the north bay starting throughout the morning and then quickly sweeping through, and then looks like there will be clearing saturday afternoon. if you have outdoor plans, looks like it won't be raining all day. we will see another wave of rain coming in as we head towards sunday. the sierra will get more snow. right now the snowpack stands statewide at 189% of normal. if even we don't get more snow in the forecast, we will end the season with above average snowfall. there's a few more feet of snow
