lingering showers in parts of the north bay. we're going to be watching out for rain chances farther to the north as we go into today. but overall it's cloudy and it's a little bit damp out there as we take a live look outside in san jose. it's in the upper 40s now and we're headed back to the sunshine, after some morning clouds. we'll see our temperatures staying on the cool side today, but eventually it's going to warm up and we'll talk about that in a few minutes. mike, you're starting out with a look at the golden gate bridge. >> between the music roll for our show and now, they just cleared the last of the vehicles. you can still see the glowing lights from one of the crews that's still there. we still have the cones as well. we'll have damp roads around the bay, but the slowing i saw on the northbound side of the golden gate bridge has mostly cleared except just after the toll plaza. the east bay, we have wetter damper roadways, so keep that in mind. we have a crash affecting the off ramp for the next couple of minutes, no injuries for this

two-car crash. 880 moves smoothly. we have the road work 680, the closure continues. we have one crash by grant line road that might be affecting slowing, but it looks like easy speeds through the altamont. >> the dubs lost their cool in game two and ultimately lost the game. draymond green was ejected after stomping on kings star sabonis. green was upset that sabonis grabbed his leg. >> while the game and the latest drama was in sacramento, the heartache was felt here in the bay area. "today in the bay"'s terry mcsweeney spoke with some of the disappointed fans at chase center. >> reporter: despite an early lead, it was not the warriors night. >> what! >> reporter: a fourth quarter comeback, not enough to overcome turnovers and sloppy play. >> it's disappointing to see them lose, but i still have hope, you know. i think that they'll be able to

come back. >> reporter: a rough night for the warriors. fans were talking about the rough night e-40 had in sacramento. the super fan got booted in the fourth quarter and said a mild dispute with a white fan got him kicked out because of racial bias. some witnesses say e-40 would not sit down, a number of fans complained and he had been warned. >> i think it's a little unfair, but let the facts get hashed out. but i feel like it's unfair. >> reporter: a kings fan also staying objective. >> it's a shame it had to happen to e-40. you know what i'm saying? it wouldn't have happened here at the chase center. it's tragic that it had to happen there. >> reporter: warriors fans we talked to, with the team down 0-2 in the best of seven are sounded gold-blooded. >> we've still got it. watch it, game six is us. we're going round two, baby. you see the 30?

game six, baby. >> reporter: the golden state warriors have never been in this situation before, down 0-2 in a playoff series. they're coming home where they've got a great record. they'll be here thursday and maybe e-40 will join them and that will make a difference. we'll find out. terry mcsweeney, "today in the bay." happening this afternoon in antioch, outraged community members plan to march from the police department to city hall demanding reform and accountability. it comes in wake of racist text messages first released in the report last week by contra costa county district attorney's office. the prosecutors yesterday released a second investigative report containing more text messages. many of those texts were sent and received by police department members who the chief says are no longer working on patrols in the streets. 17 officers are named in the two reports, and the fbi also taking part in the investigation. one neighborhood in san jose's willow glen is becoming a

hot spot for intruders and thefts and some are arguing that a growing homeless encampment may be the culprit. >> reporter: this is willow glen, also known as san jose's local treasure, and according to residents, the current destination for thieves. >> in the videos you see people coming in your driveway, checking the house doors, checking the car doors. >> i've been here 20 years, this is the worst i've ever seen it. >> reporter: families say it's become a daily problem. in fact, both of these residents were hit this weekend. luckily, neither had anything of value stolen other than sunglasses. >> the people that go up and down our street are frightening, they're frighteningening. >> reporter: if you scroll through the neighborhood app, you can see the problem for yourself. jody says not too long ago, she was confronted by a woman armed with a rifle. >> this area has been really bad lately with everyone living on

the creek. >> definitely it's an uptick in the homelessness that's going on on willow street. >> reporter: a growing homeless encampment is taking up the bike trail near willow street. they wonder if this is connected to what they're seeing in their ring cameras. >> right now there's nowhere for people to go. this is the problem. and we have -- our approach has failed us. it has been too slow, too expensive. >> reporter: san jose mayor mahan says he's concerned about the situation but the encampment abatement is not the solution. >> we need to end the era and the only way we're going to do that is putting dollars into building basic safe shelter. >> reporter: with no short-term solution in sight, these residents say they'll keep alerting each other or considering a more significant move, one that will take them out of state. stephanie magallon for "today in the bay." this morning scientists are raising concerns over a potential new covid subvariant being reported in more than 29

countries. it is a subvariant of the powerful omicron. the world health organization says they've been monitoring the variant since last month after an uptick of the variant in india. dr. peter chen hong explains the variant stands out for bringing a new covid symptom that many associate with allergy season, pink eye and dry mouth. >> red eyes, not a lot of pus in the eyes, it looks like pink eye, more common in kids than adults, and then a propensity to high fevers. >> doctors say if your eyes are feeling itchy, it may be a good time to take a covid test. many don't believe this variant will cause a major surge like we've seen in the past. this morning excitement is building as 30 rock is coming to the bay area. >> today we'll broadcast from sonoma county later this week. i got a chance to go one-on-one

good tuesday morning. right now as we head out in santa rosa, it's in the upper 30s. it is mostly clear, after some very early morning showers and we have a light northerly wind. as we go into today, mostly sunny and staying on the cool side. eventually it's going to warm up. we'll take a look at some temperatures in the upper 70s, maybe 80 coming up in a few minutes. over here we're looking at 65, that's the speed limit and you're able to drive that on the nimitz just north of tesla.

the headlights heading toward the south bay, you'll find wet pavement from overnight rain through the area. so far, no major problems. we'll see if there's anything major developing with silvana. good morning. i'm silvana hanao at cnbc headquarters. wall street is set to open a touch higher after the markets rose yesterday to kick off a week full of earnings. the dow gaining 100 points, while the s&p 500 and the nasdaq were up about a third of a percent. in focus today, data on housing and building permits, plus earnings from bank of america, goldman sachs, and united airlines. ford has unveiled its lincoln nautilus at the shanghai auto show. the company will import the vehicle from china to the u.s. it's currently produced at a plant in canada, but ford is converting that factory to make electric vehicles. importing cars and trucks from china to the u.s. isn't

celebrate what? >> oh, you're going there. >> traffic tuesday. hopefully light traffic. >> you were thinking taco tuesday. let's get out to the roadways. we're thinking green because we're mostly at the speed limit. a little concern, i saw this pop up just before we came over to the set here, this cluster of exclamation points. it turns out there's a disabled vehicle but they've marked it for both directions at mission boulevard at 880 because chp doesn't know which direction it is. they're headed over and it shouldn't be a major issue. we'll follow that, of course. we're still following this, north 680 where this is still closed for overnight construction just north of 84. we don't have any major issues as you're coming out of the altamont. the crash at grant line looks like it's out of lanes, commute toward the dublin interchange. it's a smooth drive through the area of the maze at the bay bridge. we showed you how empty that

was. the view from mount sutro, we're seeing a few cones out there and a little glow with some overnight rainfall. we might have damp roadways. >> it's still a little wet after the early-morning showers pushed through the bay area. over the past few hours, we're seeing a couple of spotty showers in parts of the north bay. other than that, we're seeing the leftover raindrops, even now as we take a look at our walnut creek camera. early this morning the rain moved through and most of us got about a tenth of an inch of rain or less. it's now 46 degrees there, and as we go into the next several hours temperatures will hold steady in the mid-40s. then at about 9:00, it's 50 degrees and some mid-50s by late morning. it's going to be another cool day. this is cooler than what we typically see for this time of year, only reaching 59 in hayward and oakland, 59 in napa and novato and 57 in san francisco. for tomorrow, it's just a couple of degrees warmer, but we're

making progress toward warmer temperatures. even about what's normal for this time of year going toward the middle to end of the week, reaching 71 in morgan hill on thursday. we'll see 71 in santa rosa. and some low 60s in san francisco. going through the next several days, no more chances of rain after this little bit moves through, and we'll continue into next week with some dry conditions as high pressure builds and our temperatures go up. check out napa over the next few days. we're going from upper 50s today to mid-60s tomorrow, low 70s thursday, look at the weekend. what are you planning to do? it's going to be nice out there. especially with temperatures peaking on friday at 82 degrees. then we'll head back to the low to mid 70s through the rest of the forecast. it's going to be very nice as we go into the next several days and also looking at a cool start to the week that will gradually start to warm up the closer we get to the weekend, as the dry

conditions continue and we get more sunshine. turning to our climate in crisis, black and brown communities are often hit hardest and take longer to recover from the impacts of climate change and our neighborhoods were historically developed in areas that are prone to poor air quality, flooding, extreme heat, sea level rise and wildfires. and as the impacts worsen, organizations like the west oakland environmental indicators project or woiep, preserve communities by using research and data to take action in mitigating the effects of climate change. margaret gordon from woeip tells me these communities continue to level the playing field. >> some of the things we have done is about emission reduction, how do we work to
