drive. we're starting off with fog as you showed me earlier at the golden gate bridge. that's what is going to keep san francisco and coastal areas cooler even as the inland valleys heat up today. it's 52 degrees. we will see the temperatures staying in the 50s through 9:00 and then reaching into the mid-60s at 11:00 today. the 7-day forecast is now coming up at the bottom of the screen as we talk about possible near-record highs for today. doesn't look like we will see any widespread records but we are headed for 90 degrees today in concord and the record is 94. in 2004, widespread records were set across the area. we are only up to about 92 in fairfield, only up to 92. it's going to be hot. once again, not setting records

across the bay area. mid-70s in san francisco. tomorrow the temperatures do start to come back down just a little bit, especially for the coast. inland valleys are still in the upper 80s and low 90s. by saturday it's feeling much more comfortable, but we are still in the mid to upper 80s. going ahead, we will see big changes. next week we are going back to winter. are you ready for that. it will be significantly cooler, you will see spotty showers and widespread rain and sierra snow in the forecast by the end of next week. just crazy. we will see a lot of changes here with livermore going from 90 to low 60s by the beginning of next week. it will stay in the 60s for much of next week. the blast of heat will not be with us long, and we are also going to see the potential of some rain chances ahead starting next tuesday and wednesday, while san francisco will be in the upper 70s today. we will bring you back to the upper 60s for the weekend, and then in the 50s for next week.

now in our climate in crisis, the supreme court will allow cities to sue oil companies to hold them accountable for the affects of climate change. the supreme court on monday refused to bail out oil companies that want to have their cases heard in federal court and avoid trials in state courts where they have a better chance of losing. so the cities of santa cruz and richmond, san mateo said communities across california continue to experience the accelerating climate in crisis every day through extreme precipitation and floods, wildfire, impacts on public health and vital infrastructure and more. the defendants in our cases knew these catastrophic impacts were coming and predicted it with precision but deceived and failed to warn consumers about
