then as we go into today, we'll be in the mid-60s at 9:00, reaching the mid-70s at 11:00, and then eventually making it up to 87 degrees. so almost as warm as yesterday. definitely well above normal. we'll have a trend towards cooler weather coming up soon. mike, you were tracking a closure near the bay bridge. >> it does continue from yesterday and i did warn you about this about 24 hours ago. we're looking at a closure continuing for west 580 over to east 80, so the curve, the mirror image of the berkeley curve heading into berkeley, there's an alternate in place until about 5:30. another hour until the crew clears the area. there's also construction around gillman and that may impede your traffic flow. so far, no problems at the bridge itself. richmond bridge, there may be a disabled vehicle. so far, just some fog. back to you. >> thank you very much. it is 4:32. developing, a shooting at a san francisco walgreens is under investigation. it happened last night at 4:00 and market right at the

westfield san francisco center. "today in the bay"'s gia vang has details. >> reporter: while people are still having to walk around this caution tape right here as officers are still inside that walgreens trying to figure out how it all went down. witnesses are telling us what they heard and saw. hours later, investigators were still at this walgreens on the 800 block of market. friends of the victim say she was 19 years old and visiting from sacramento. she was walking out of the store when she was shot. >> out of nowhere, she turns around, walking out of the store and you hear two gunshots. we turn around and she's on the floor bleeding out. >> people are running. i'm, like, what's going on? then i looked in front of walgreens and there's a girl's shoes on the floor, jacket, her bags are on the floor. somebody must have got shot. >> reporter: her condition right now is unknown. as for the person who pulled the trigger, witnesses describe him as security personnel who ran to the back after he shot. >> he didn't say nothing, even when we were inside the store.

all he did was pick up that gun and shot twice and walk to the back, because the people that were in the store started charging him. >> reporter: police have detained one person they say is possibly involved in the shooting. anyone with information is asked to call sfpd. angry a's fans plan to voice their feelings outside the first home game since the land announcement signaling the team's possible exit to vegas. the a's host the reds, and for a lot of bay area fans hope is fading for the team to remain in the east bay. oakland mayor sheng thao talked last night with raj mathai and said despite feeling jilted by the a's, she would set her feelings aside if the a's decide to reconsider. >> if they would call me, i would pick up. because it's not about me, it's not about just john fisher, it's truly about the bigger, more complex issues around, like, the fan base, what it means to drive

good friday morning. right now at 4:40, as you head out in antioch, it's very warm for this time of the morning. it's 68 degrees and it may cool down a few degrees as the wind continues to calm down. and then warm up again as we go

into late morning into the afternoon. we're headed for another hot day, but we do have some relief in the forecast. more on that coming up in a few minutes. taking a closer look, maybe too close here at the san mateo bridge, we'll give you context on the taillights. they're moving all the way across the span, including the high-rise, with no problems. no issues reported by chp. there may be an issue getting toward the bay bridge, we talked about the overnight road closure. things are moving slowly outside of that portion of the berkeley curve. let's check in with bertha. good morning. good morning. thanks so much. i'm bertha coombs from cnbc. it's a final trading day of april and we've got the futures pointing to a slightly lower start, after the dow and s&p saw their best trading day since january, both up for the month. the nasdaq, we'll see what happens today. this morning, energy giants exxon mobil and chevron posted

better than expected earnings. we'll also be watching for key inflation data, particularly the read on consumer spending. meantime, intel reporting the largest quarterly loss in the company's history, the semiconductor giant's first quarter results showing 133% annual reduction in earnings per share. they basically lost more than they made last year this quarter, but the loss was smaller than what wall street analysts were looking for, and that is actually giving the stock a boost this morning. >> meantime, sony posting a record annual profit, getting a boost from its chip division, and it announced playstation 5 hit an all-time record in terms of sales. they sold more than 19.1 million playstation 5 consoles during the fiscal year. that's a million more than they had seen and nearly twice as much as last year. they're finally getting through

we're going to keep it warm for one or two more days. we'll extend it into saturday. it's already cooling down in san francisco. this is a look at -- yeah, you can barely see it. we were looking at the fog in san francisco. some of the buildings kind of obscured by that fog. it's in the low 50s right now. we're going to stay in the low 50s for the next few hours, and then as we go into today, it's going to slowly warm up here. take a look at the difference from san francisco to hayward, another 10 degrees warmer there. and then we bring it up another 8 or 10 degrees for livermore. and then in fairfield reaching 92 still for today. it was just as hot yesterday, but we'll start a cooling trend for tomorrow. you can probably already see at the bottom of the screen, the seven-day forecast, that we only have a couple more days of this. by tomorrow it's reaching 75 in oakland and 85 in san jose, and for the north bay it's going to be in the low 80s tomorrow

afternoon. look at how much cooler it's going to be on sunday, low 60s in san francisco, and upper 60s for los gatos, san jose, 73 in san martin, low 70s for our warmer spots inland. a very strong cold front will be coming through. by monday night we could possibly see some spotty showers, especially in the north bay. off and on rain throughout much of next week. it is going to look so different. and we may see waves of rain coming in next week, along with gusty winds. a long at our long-range rainfall estimate, the color shows you how much rain we could see, possibly about an inch or two in parts of the north bay. for the south bay it's looking like a lot less. we are going to see scattered showers coming in, as temperatures go from low 90s to 60s next week. mike, you're seeing the patchy fog again at the golden gate bridge. >> we know that tends to happen, oftentimes during the warmer overnights, right? we're looking at these folks

getting ready to clear. you can see there's still cones on the northbound side, so there will be a traffic break. visibility all right, a little better than yesterday. we see the slowing as the crews start to move north. then we'll have the southbound traffic break as well. >> over here we have lanes reopening from west 580 over to eastbound 80 getting through berkeley. no far no surprises for the overnight. a smooth drive, even out of the altamont. back to you. >> thank you very much, mike. it's 4:48 right now. this morning we have an exclusive interview with the father of a 15-month-old oakland girl hit by a stray bullet. maya recovering after multiple surgeries. we have more from the family. >> reporter: the parents of little 15-month-old maya are still in shock and hoping for a full recovery after the little girl was shot while riding home from a laundry mat with her

mother, father and 5-year-old sister. he heard gunshots and cleaned over to cover his wife and tried to cover his daughters, but they were already crying. it happened in oakland at the intersection of 12th street on monday. maya's dad did not want his face shown on camera. he explains he didn't realize maya had been hit until they got home. video shows them franticly racing her to a nearby fire station for help. i saw blood and wanted to get her there as quickly as possible. we called 911 and didn't get a response and at that point went to the fire station to get help because the bullet hit her side. the little girl, who they say is known for her smile and dancing, is still sedated and recovering. she's already undergone two surgeries to repair internal organs damaged by the bullet and doctors tell the family more surgeries may be needed. we're trying to stay strong and wait to hear more news.

jose explains he never got a good look at the gunman because he was too busy trying to shield his family from the gunfire. investigators say video shows a man at the corner of 11th avenue shooting at vehicles and says it's clear maya's family was not the intended target. he says he wants them to get whoever did this. as jose waits for his daughter to recover, he says he's already making plans to move out of the city and refuses to raise his kids in oakland. i'm frustrated, you call police and they don't show up or get there late. you can't do anything in oakland anymore, he says. maya's family tells me doctors are waiting to see how she responds to the latest surgery to determine what recovery will look like. they say it could still be weeks until she's released from the hospital. in the east bay, celina jones, "today in the bay." an update on the confrontation between an unhoused man and a san francisco

former fire commissioner. the unhoused man is being released from jail. carmignani didn't show up to testify. he suffered a fractured skull after he was attacked earlier this month. a lot of debate is whether he was the victim of an unprovoked beating or whether he was the aggressor. the public defender released videos claiming that the that he's terrorized people with bear spray. >> we never got a statement and i get the opportunity to cross-examine him. >> carmignani's attorney flatly denies that his client was involved in any attack on unhoused people. pleasant hill police looking for a man tied to an illegal fireworks incident that injured a young boy. investigators say security video from sunday, april 16th, shows

the man lighting a firework at pleasant hill middle school that never exploded. police say the next day a 14-year-old student picked up that firework and left school with it. it later exploded in his hand, causing significant injuries. >> we won't know until the investigation is concluded exactly what it was. certainly a substantial amount of gunpowder for the explosion that we know happened. >> anyone who may know the man in the video should contact pleasant hills police. happening tomorrow, alameda county is ending its eviction moratorium. the goal was to stop evictions temporarily during the pandemic, protecting tenants at risk of becoming unhoused. property owners have rallied against the moratorium for months and they are calling on the county to reimburse them for any loss of rental income. 4:53. helping families get the help they need. still ahead, the local organization working to make it
