on thursday after four months. in the end, four members of the group were found guilty of seditious conspiracy in connection with the january 6 attack on the u.s. capitol among this quartet was the former leader of the group they were also convicted of conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding. one other member was acquitted on the seditious conspiracy charge buts wit was found guiltn other counts seditious conspiracy is a rarely-brought charge associated with a plot to oppose the government with force. during the trial, prosecutors for the justice department argued that the group was thirsting for violence and organizing for action ahead of the riots at the capitol and were trying to stop the certification of the 2020 election by any means necessary.
