driving. so if you are headed up to tahoe, plan ahead, bring chains, and it is may, but that's what we got. >> that's not file video. that's this weekend. we're still seeing it on the radar, too. we see a winter weather advisory, winter-type driving conditions in the sierra. here earlier we had downpours, those for the most part have moved out but they moved out to the west slope of the sierra, where they're still seeing some thunderstorms and the blue you see there, that's a lot of snow coming down for elevations above 5 to 6,000 feet. we should see this activity wind down tomorrow. and then possibly more snow showers early next week. right now, san jose looking pretty good, 59 degrees. mostly cloudy skies. also in the 50s in dublin at 56 degrees. and around san rafael, 55. final stop takes toward san francisco, partly cloudy skies off to the west, at 55, and for now, the radar really has dried out but for the month of may, just the first six days we've passed the monthly rainfall
8:20 pm
average around san francisco, oakland, and san jose. san francisco over an inch of rain for the month. the same for oakland. and we might have just a little bit more as we head into tomorrow night and monday. so here is the break. we're starting to see it develop for sunday. and then this system right there is going to drop in later tomorrow. so for the morning forecast, areas of low clouds. probably some drizzle in a few spots and we transition over to partly cloudy skies. we should see more sunshine for your sunday forecast, and one more chance of showers heading in late sunday night and into monday. so morning temperatures starting off, mostly in the mid to upper 40s. around lunchtime, you can see upper 50s and low 60s. and sunday's highs with a little more sunshine, mid 60s for san jose, and upper 50s to low 60s for san francisco to oakland. so here comes the chance of showers. right after midnight sunday, impacting mostly the monday morning commute. but unlike the roaming downpours we had today, this looks more like scattered showers. and the better part of it will be for the first half of the day.
8:21 pm
right there around 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. on monday and then that system starts to weaken and move to the north and east. behind it, we should see one more system here bring a chance of showers to the sierra, mostly east of the bay area. once that clears out, high pressure is going to build in. and watch the temperature now, from wednesday, thursday, and friday. wednesday's highs, upper 60s, and low 70s. and warmer than what we're seeing right now. and then by thursday, highs climbing into the mid to upper 70s inland and then starting friday, close to 80 degrees in the warmer spots around the inland, bay area, and the coast, by the way, could get to the 60s and 70s. look at the ridge of high pressure, the orange you see on the screen, that is going to continue to build, as we head through next weekend, so the temperatures are about to jump up, and once we pass wednesday, i think even san francisco will see upper 60s and low 70s. as we head towards next weekend. and after this, one more chance of showers for the first half of monday, back into the 70s and possibly mid-80s by next weekend. so we go from snow to snow melt,
8:22 pm
and maybe more snow melt coming up next weekend. >> it is hard to acclimate because you think it will get warm and then it changes. >> thank you. already seeing the impact of the writers strike. how tomorrow's mtv awards will look a bit different. look a bit different. while e walkout continues.th
