that by saying it's depending where you are and northeast and also in the midwest, are seeing prices continue to go up. >> the mortgage rates you're talking about. i know you have a crystal ball in your pocket there so tell us about this, the 30-year fixed rate 6.4%. what are we expecting will happen with that >> it is telling me those rates are going to stay elevated whether or not they go higher or lower, that's a little tough to say. the overall story the reason for why they're high the federal reserve's interest rate hikes and not sure if they're done with that yet so if they continue to keep interest rates high even if they don't continue to hike them or cut them, it means mortgage costs are likely not going to be anywhere close to 3% we saw two years ago any time in the near future. >> i was going to say keep the crystal ball out for a second. whether they'll ever go back to as low we saw around the pandemic i mean, it was almost free money for a long final with interest rates. >> so for the federal reserve, they have short-term interest

welcome back may is mental health awareness month. for our "mind matters" series, carson, you are sharing a new campaign aimed at kids that might be struggling. >> yeah. as you know, i struggled with generalized anxiety disorder for a while now, in fact, since i was a kid. anxiety affects 30% of kids and teens, yet, 80% never get any kind of health so when the child mind institute asked if i would be part of their you got this campaign, where teens interview someone in the public eye, that's how i met a young man named wyatt, who is a rock star right here in new york take a look. >> to wyatt. first of all, it is great to

meet you. >> great to meet you, carson. >> i feel like i'm in a time portal looking at me at your age. hit me with some questions >> how old were you when you first experienced anxiety? >> only later in my life was i able to look back when i was a teenager and go, oh, my gosh, that was all anxiety oh, that time when i was feeling really scared and felt like i was on edge. oh, that's what that was when we were growing up, my generation, we didn't talk about mental health. only now through these conversations are we starting to treat our mental health like we treat our physical health. like no big deal everybody has mental health struggles. >> i think it is really important we're doing that >> reporter: 16-year-old wyatt is like many teenagers his age he loves playing basketball and soccer and like many teens, he struggles with anxiety, but is speaking up in hopes of helping kids who suffer in silence wyatt is one of a handful of teenagers interviewing famous people about their mental health struggles to help destigmatize mental illness. i didn't know anxiety was categorical thing. >> i'm not a psycho. here i am. >> when i was younger, that was

it if you had something going on up here, you were just crazy, so we have come a long, long way. but we still have a lot of work to do. >> we have all the stigma around it getting less and less and less. >> reporter: wyatt is a part of the child mind institute "you got this" campaign when did you realize you were a little anxious >> when i was 12 it is this feeling, you know, in your head that you can't kind of, you know, be yourself because you are just nonstop having this in the back of your head just bugging you and bugging you. >> reporter: he says his anxiety began about something benign he posted on youtube but later grew into repeated paranoid feelings about technology he was diagnosed with anxiety and obsessive/compulsive disorder. >> my phone, which is right here, i didn't have it for a year because i was worried i was being listened in on and spied on i have come really far now here i am. there is four cameras. my phone is right here. >> reporter: and you don't have that same worry.

>> no, i'm able to have my phone around with me >> and therapy helped you get through that >> yes >> i have always had catastrophic thinking, negative thoughts on negative thoughts i've struggled with general anxiety and panic attacks most of my life. therapy has made all the difference that's why talking about this and, like, ultimately for me going to therapy, working on certain tools to help me it is my superpower now. so it is not going to hold me back >> you're saving other people with your superpower >> i don't want to have a panic ago but i'm, like, i'm going to be okay. i know i will be okay. >> i think i can kind of relate to that. at soccer games i feel, not a panic attack, but i feel like in my chest i will throw up and it is a little hard to breathe. >> reporter: is it better once you get into the game? >> yeah. i'm sure kevin probably has that, too. >> reporter: wyatt also interviewed miami heat's kevin love for the campaign. >> hopefully we can help a lot of people. >> yeah, definitely, it's an honor. >> reporter: kevin has been public about his own panic attacks.

good morning. it is 8:56. i'm kris sanchez. at least 18 people are injured after a crash in downtown sacramento. this is video from over the scene. you can see there is a bus involved. that was a prisoner transport bus. it happened right in front of the courthouse. 23 people were on board at the time. at least two people were transported to the hospital. several others have minor injuries. investigators believe that another vehicle ran a red light and caused that crash. also happening now, state attorney general's office is not expected to press charges against a san francisco who shot aan t mhr
