a clearing sky going into the afternoon. now, we're also going to have a slight chance of showers in parts of the bay area. other than that, we are going to have some really nice conditions and it will be warmer ago we head into midweek and friday. as we get a look at temperatures in san jose, we're headed for 77 degrees. it's going to be slightly warmer in some spots, especially in the inland valleys. mike, i heard that southbound 680 is open again. >> you heard correctly. we heard from some friends who drove the route, so we know that's true. it happened well before 3:00 in the morning. all fine for this morning's commute. northbound also reopened after overnight road work. 84 has a little slowing, the transition may still be going on. the last grid said everything affecting 680 has cleared. south bay, peninsula and also getting across the bay bridge, a nice, easy drive. look at that beautiful view.

back to you. redwood city police need your help finding a missing 14-year-old girl. investigators say gabby garcia last seen yesterday morning along roosevelt avenue, and police consider her at risk and say she may be with her adult boyfriend. san jose police are searching for this missing man, also considered to be at risk. investigators say matthew lewis was last seen yesterday leaving a home along little orchard street. anyone who knows where either of these people are should call 911. the oakland a's could face a curveball in their attempt to move to las vegas. >> bob redell is joining us from the newsroom this morning. nevada lawmakers are going to consider approving the state tax dollars for the ballpark? >> reporter: correct, lawmakers will meet for a special session to consider a bill that, if approved, would provide up to $380 million in public funding

for the a's new stadium that's planned for along the las vegas strip. they considered the bill last wednesday but didn't vote on it. according to a local news report in las vegas, it is likely that lawmakers will present a new version of the bill, one that has been amended to make it more palatable for legislators on the fence. according to an opinion page on the website for the state of nevada's legislature, 87% of respondents oppose the bill. reporting live, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> thanks for the latest there, bob. breaking this morning, italy's longest serving political leader has died. silvio berlusconi served as prime minister during the 1990s and then 2000. he was also a media tycoon who became the subject of scandals over 40 years that divided the italian people. no official cause of death has been given but he had recently

been treated for a lung infection tied to leukemia. he was 86 years old. this morning preparations are under way for former president donald trump's arraignment. >> trump is the first former president so ever be indicted on federal charges. he's expected to surrender himself in miami tomorrow. brie jackson is in washington for us this morning. what can we expect over the next few days. >> reporter: so former president trump is expected to travel from new jersey to florida today ahead of his arraignment on tuesday. guilty. and former president trump vows to stay in the presidential race even if convicted. >> so much going on this week. thank you, brie, for the latest. happening today, a detective with the oakland police department who allegedly lied under oath and attempted to bribe a witness will appear before a judge. prosecutors say phong tran was the lead investigator in a 2011 murder case that led to the conviction of two men. investigators say the officer also attempted to pay for key testimony in the case. in april alameda county district attorney filed charges against the officer. tran has pleaded not guilty. the two defendants' convictions were vacated. also today, the former san francisco fire commissioner who was allegedly attacked is set to take the stand.

carmignani is set to testify today in court. now, the defense team says carmignani actually started the incident and has a history of spraying homeless people with mace near his mother's home. carmignani denies the claims. in san francisco a waymo driver assisted car killed a dog. a test driver was inside the car but did not see the animal. in a statement, the company folks person said the system correctly identified the dog which ran out from behind a parked vehicle but was not able to avoid contact. we send our sincere condolences to the dog's owner. a san jose university grad is making permits a lot easier. he created wild permits. the website alerts you the

on wednesday, we get the latest decision from the fed, which is widely expected to hit the pause button after hiking interest rates for ten straight meetings. meantime, apple is still aiming to release a more affordable version of the vision pro headset by the end of 5 t 2025. the device starts at $3,500. bloomberg reports to cut costs, apple could use a lower quality screen and a smaller number of cameras and sensors and may have customers use their own air pods for audio. >> meta is giving employees access to an ai chatbot with company data and it will be able to help employees summarize meetings, write code and debug features. they'll also be able to create their own prompts and share them with co-workers. meta is rolling the chatbot out

so you may be heading out in the east bay right around the hayward area and hearing a little rain hitting the roof. that could make the roads wet on 580 or 880 and it's going to be crossing the bay, heading toward the peninsula. but it is right now dry in dublin as we take a live look outside. it is mostly cloudy, temperatures in the upper 50s. and after we get possibly some early morning spotty showers moving through, the rest of the day is looking nice. i wouldn't bother with the umbrella even if it is raining right now. and we're going to see temperatures headed from the upper 50s to upper 70s for today for san jose, but mostly mid-70s for the inland valleys with concord today reaching 75 degrees, for napa reaching 69 degrees, and tomorrow it's just slightly warmer as we start a warming trend that's going to continue throughout much of the rest of the week. on wednesday we're starting to see a few 80s in spots like morgan hill and 81 degrees in

fairfield. so we're seeing this area of low pressure very close by now, but as we head toward the middle of the week, high pressure is going to build off the coast and that's going to ramp up temperatures, more of a northerly wind as opposed to the ocean breeze, the westerly wind we've had recently. and then going toward the weekend, there will be all another change once again, as we see this low dipping down into the pacific northwest that's going to change our wind direction and help cool down those temperatures once again. so take a look at our seven-day forecast, going from mid-70s to low 80s, and then back to the mid-70s by the end of the weekend. and so a look at the forecast shows that there will be some slight shifts in our temperatures, but overall fairly quiet over the next several days. mike, you've been keeping an eye on any closures and construction and all that stuff going on. >> most of the weekend stuff like in the tri-valley, that did clear for the morning commute. i've been watching little blips

monday. i'm marcus washington. >> i'm laura garcia. let's get a look at our forecast. starting a brand new workweek. weather-wise, what are we in store for? >> maybe something to freshen things up. we've had a couple of spotty showers moving through. most of us won't see any rain, but the few areas that do see it will have a wet start to the day. we're seeing rain around hayward, crossing the bay and getting ready to extend toward the peninsula. so we'll see exactly how much rain we get. but it's not expected to be a lot as we go into the rest of the day. we'll talk about the rest of the forecast. mike, you're hearing about a crash in san jose. >> you just showed current oakland, i'm showing you old oakland road, typically where we show the slowing start. you see northbound 101 does slow a little early. there's a crash moving quickly to the shoulder, north 101 and oakland road. bad place and time. we just saw the sensors change from yellow to orange.

it should be off to the shoulder. it started the slowing a bit early in that area. the rest of the bay shows a smooth drive. we heard about an issue getting onto the golden gate bridge getting out of san francisco, the northbound side. i haven't heard about a traffic break but i'm following that closely. an update coming up. >> thank you. following a violent weekend across the bay area, police are asking the public's help with their investigations. this comes after two mass shootings, a standoff and gunfire at a nightclub. >> ginger conejero saab joins us live in san francisco with more on what police are revealing. >> reporter: laura, here in san francisco police have identified a person of interest in one of those two shootings that happened here in the city over the weekend. a police source tells nbc bay area that this man, javier campos, is a person of interest in a mass shooting that sent nine people to the hospital.

that shooting happened friday night in the mission during a block party near 24th and harrison. campos is associated with a mercedes spotted leaving the scene. california license plate 9bpt146. the other shooting happened saturday night on ocean avenue. that happened just before midnight. a fight allegedly broke out inside the club. now, two men and a woman were shot and taken to the hospital. there is no word from police about a suspect. we did reach out to the business for comment, but have not heard back. >> over in the east bay, a nearly five-hour standoff between oakland police and deputies from san leandro and b.a.r.t. ended in an arrest, but not before shutting down a b.a.r.t. station for a couple hours. authorities used tear gas and k9s to take into custody the suspect in an armed robbery that started yesterday morning at a quick stop in san leandro.

officers spotted the suspect in a stolen car and chased the suspect into oakland. there they were able to stop him, but it was very close to a b.a.r.t. station. the coliseum platform at 75th avenue. one rider took this video from the platform and you can see the tear gas deployment. that appeared to backfire when the wind blew the gas back toward police. >> they tried everything, drones, they tried gas canisters that fired on themselves accidently, and, honestly, at this point they're just at a standoff. >> reporter: well, that was a bite from someone on the scene at that point. the standoff finally ended before 7:00 last night, after shutting down the entire station for two hours. the suspect was then taken into custody. >> over in contra costa county, a deadly mass shooting in antioch left seven people shot, one of the victims, an

18-year-old woman, died. you're looking at the aftermath of a birthday party where the shooting took place. the host of that party did not want to go on camera, but says three young men showed up to the party looking for someone she says she didn't know. one of the men was wearing a ski mask and appeared to be intoxicated. the host then tried to get the men to leave, but one went into the back yard and shortly after there were gunshots. the antioch mayor says his heart aches for those involved, particularly for the one who lost her life. police are still investigating the shooting and are asking for the public's help, if you have any information to contact antioch police. live in san francisco, ginger conejero saab, "today in the bay." >> so much violence across the bay area. it certainly affects us all in some kind of way. thank you for that. 5:35 right now. later today san francisco african american reparations advisory committee are set to

meet. so that committee is on its final stages of creating recommendations which will be passed on to san francisco leaders. the group has been working on those proposals for the last two years to find how the descendants of people enslaved in america should be compensated for generational harms. this committee found 82% of californians support investment in education and health care. 79% support assistance for housing and 74% support the returning of property the committee says was unfairly seized. today's meeting is at city hall and begins at 5:30. b.a.r.t. is launching a new study looking into how police respond and if racial bias plays a role. black riders were stopped by agency police eight times more than white riders between 2012 and 2017. black riders were also 15 times more likely to have force used against them by officers.

now, the new study will be conducted by the center of policing equity and b.a.r.t.'s independent police auditor. more help could be on the way for those trying to make it in the bay. a newly proposed bill would cap security deposits at one month's rent. right now california state law allows property owners to charge up to two months' rent and the initial lease payment for the security deposit. critics say this will hurt those who rent out their property. the bill has been passed by the assembly but needs to be considered by the senate. reddit communities are going dark in protest of the new pricing policy. this is a look and you can see that it's already grayed out and unavailable. it's all because the tech company will start charging more for individual forms and

sub-reddits that use third-party apps. users say the app is limited, clunky and not accessible for people who are visually impaired. the blackout is set to last 48 hours. netflix more than doubled its average daily sign-ups and it has little to do with people who just want to watch. >> kris sanchez joins us with the password crackdown that seems to be working. it has a lot of people talking. >> people were mad when netflix said they were changing the sharing guidelines and said they would un-subscribe. netflix called their bluff. netflix saw a 102% spike in subscriptions since it started emailing customers telling them the crackdown was coming, and according to the data tracking company antenna, netflix saw four of its biggest days in more than four years. netflix estimates that 43% of households share accounts globally. and here is what the spike looks

like. that spike higher than during the covid lockdowns. cancellations did increase during the same time but did not outpace the sign-ups. netflix was telling subscribers for the last three weeks or so that they could only share their account with the people in their household, that is the people that you actually live with. the options are to pay $7.99 to keep a person outside the home on the account, so like a kid in college or maybe grandma, or you can transfer the profile to that other person so that they can sign up on their own. now, while a lot of streaming services might be watching to see if the crackdown will boost revenue, other services might be seeing this as an opportunity to boost subscribers. >> you're going to see other streamers, their prices are going to go lower and lower to compete with netflix. >> reporter: here is how netflix tracks you.

to a heartwarming reunion in the east bay. a french bulldog was stolen from a tesla, and is finally back home. reunited with its owner, tonya zhang yesterday. it was stolen in jack london area at the end of april. tesla cameras caught the thief breaking the car window, snatching a purse and then going for the dog, who gave a little struggle before being taken into an awaiting car. a woman in pittsburg claimed he was left at a dog park. hope had faded over the weeks, but she never gave up. >> at first she found out it was me and came around, and my heart was melting, and also it was, like, too good to be true.

showers will continue until tomorrow morning and then after that it clears and gets slightly warmer for the middle of the week. take a look at all of the storms and all of the showers and thunderstorms we've seen across the region, and then we saw it really develop quite a bit yesterday afternoon for upper elevations with a lot of cloud-to-ground lightning. we're still seeing some of that energy being pushed into the bay area and increasing our chances of getting showers moving in. we're seeing a little wet weather moving into parts of contra costa county, now moving into oakland and stretching across the bay into the peninsula. berkeley as well seeing some light showers, but once it clears out we're in for a nice day today. temperatures in the low to mid-70s and then we'll see more changes as we go throughout the week as high pressure builds. that's going to warm up our temperatures for the middle of the week, but then it will be pushed back as we see another low moving in from the north. so our warm-up does not last
