florida. >> reporter: that's right, good morning, frances just over two months after his arrest and arraignment in new york, things went quite similar for former president trump during his arraignment in miami on 37 felony counts over his handling of classified documents. trump arrived to the federal courthouse just before 2:00 p.m. on tuesday, flanked by crowds of both supporters and opponents. while the demonstrations remained mostly peaceful, an anti-trump protester was detained and questioned after he jumped in front of trump's motorcade as he was departing. appearing in front of magistrate judge jonathan goodman, trump's lawyer entered a plea of not guilty to the federal felony count. special counsel jack smith was sitting in the courtroom's front row during the proceedings trump did not make eye contact with smith after a stop at a cuban restaurant where supporters sang "happy birthday" the day before

he turned 77, trump headed back to new jersey to his home where he espoused his typical talking points >> i'm the only one that can save this nation, because you know, they're not coming after me they're coming after you and i just happen to be standing in their way, and i will never be moving. >> reporter: and trump aide walt nauta, who was named as a co-sp co-s co-conspirator appeared beside trump but did not enter a plea as he did not have local counsel and will do so later this month. >> what comes next in this case? >> reporter: a major player will be the u.s. district judge eileen cannon. cannon was assigned to oversee the trial but has been the subject of concerns as well. she is a trump-appointed judge and even ruled in his fave last november in this exact case.
