if one of you decides to retire, are you a package deal? i can't imagine doing the show without pat. pat: yeah. we'll probably walk off into the sunset at the same time. reporter: while it seemed pat and vanna would retire together when i spoke to them in 2020, so far, that doesn't appear to be the case. vanna hasn't announced any retirement plans. and, in fact, last year, she told me she was having so much fun, she doesn't want to leave. i love my job after all these years. i really do. it's fun to come to work. you know, i have a happy job. reporter: you and pat after all these years, why do you think it is that you two have such great chemistry? we're like ken and barbie. we're like peanut butter and jelly, you know? we just go together after all these years. reporter: one of the most memorable moments between them was in 1989 when pat announced he was stepping down from the daytime version of the show. the hard part though, is going to have to work like 50% less with you. i know. reporter: but no one could predict the wild moment in which pat showed how much he was going to miss his on-air partner. come here, baby. [cheering]
9:03 pm
my name is pat sajak. reporter: pat made his debut on the show in 1981, taking over for chuck woolery. for nearly four decades, sajak never missed a taping until november 2019, when he suffered a life-threatening health scare and was forced to undergo emergency surgery for a blocked intestine. pat opened up about the ordeal on gma and said it was rough on his family. you go in. and they don't know if i'm coming out. give me a word to describe the pain. excruciating, i was in the fetal position lying on the bed. reporter: during pat's absence, vanna took over his hosting duties. and his daughter maggie became a guest letter turner. it's a lot of fun. and, of course, i have the best teacher. aw. reporter: maggie, who is one of two kids pat shares with wife lesly, made her debut t on the shohow as a . pat: so what do you think? your television debut. she's adorable. she just turned one year old. reporter: in 2021, maggie joined wheel of fortune as the show's social correspondent and has become a fan favorite. [knock knock] pat: hey, leave me alone. you know i don't like to be bothered before a show. where are my red m&ms?
9:04 pm
dad, it's maggie. oh, hi, maggie. nice to see you. hi, hi. pat: some fans have even speculated perhaps the 28-year-old will be her dad's successor. but as for who pat wants to replace him, when paparazzi asked him that very question in 2020, he answered with his signature snarky, yet lovable sense of humor. paparazzi: when you retire, i mean, who's going to take the reins? once i'm gone, i don't care who takes the reins. such a great run. ok, got some more news for you. jennifer lawrence, she's just like us. sure, she's an oscar winner and has a new movie no hard feelings out. but, like so many, she's a big vanderpump rules fan. and when we sat down with her, jlaw did not hold back about the show's reunion and the scandalous love triangle between tom, raquel, and ariana. well, kit hoover's got this one. god, i'm only recently caught up. and that was hard. that was hard to watch. i have been super, super selfish. and arariana--
9:05 pm
selfisish does notot [bleepep] cover it, kit: jenninifer is a s serios vanderpumpmp rules fan, but t ariana andnd raquel's sc facece-off was a little too muc. i wawas sick to o my stomomach last n night. i can't do it anymore. kit: but the new mom's also got a lot to smile about, starring in and producing her hilarious debut comedy, no hard feelinings. i've w wanted to d do a comey for a rereally long g time. and when i read this, it was just the funniest thing i'd ever read. hi. mind i if i touch h your wien? what? your dog. [whine]] kit: jenninifer playss maddieie barker, a a 32-year-olold cashsh-strapped d uber drive, who o agrees to o seduce a wealthy y couple's awkward introverted 19-year-old son, played by andrew barth feldman. geget out of here. cocome on. don't t touch me.. [thud] oh! [s[squeaking]] kit: jenninifer shows s off hr seriouous physicalal comedy sks, ststrapping onon rollererblades andnd dancing. that funkyky chicken move is alall her. that actually was not coordinated by anybody. it was all me. reporter: it was all you. kit: and jennifer's onscreen chemistry with herer co-star is on full display. the two bonded on set, espececially
9:06 pm
while shooting andndrew's nude scenene on a moving car. i probabably rode on the carar naked for like three feet of car. my favorite memory from that was while we were shooting that scene, i was helping him buy furniture for his apartment. and so he was nude. and, in between, we were just like on etsy. yeah, yeah, like, what kind of mattress should i get? kit: as for the underlying theme of helicopter parenting? jennifer says she can certainly relate as a mom to her one-year-old baby boy. of c course, youou want to---u jujust want nonothing bad d tor happen. and you want to do anything that you can. but, you know, you can't. but i also have 18 more years, so. i bet she's fun mom, you know? listen, if you want a great laugh, be sure to see jennifer in no hard feelings in theaters on friday. but now to sabrina carpenter. she belted out taylor swift's "picture to burn" 13 years ago. and now in a full circle moment, it was just announced that she's going to be opening up for taylor on new tour dates, including a stop in rio. well, sabrina was just in rio for the carolina herrera resort
9:07 pm
collection 2024 show. and guest correspondent zanna roberts rassi joined her for an incredible event. i believe we have a fashion show to go. we definitely have a show to go to. we're going to get ready together. we're going to get ready. let's do it. what is it about carolina herrera? i've been a fan for a very, very long time, since i was young. you said something in an interview. it really resonated with me. you use fashion as a tool for confidence. yeah, absolutely. if i'm having an off day and then i put on an amazing outfit, the day is automatically not an off day. zaa: you've worn carolina herrera so many times. do you have any specific special memories about any of those looks? sabrina: there was this one dress that i wore. and it was blue. and it was polkaka dot. and it had flowers on it. i would have never picked out this dress for myself. but wes was in the fitting. and he was like, "just try it on." and it became one of my favorite dresses. zanna: carolina herrera's creative director
9:08 pm
wes gordon designed a custom creation for sabrbrina, but t he still sent a slew of styles to her hotel room as backup just in case. this one's like very pretty. ok, wait. zanna: oh. this is another one i love. zanna: love hearts. yeah i love a heart. and if i would just snatch it, it would just be like, oh, so cute. zanna: done. sabrina: but this bright yellow midriff-bearing two-piece design is perfect for the rio show. i don't know if the abs are out today, but we'll figure it out. how do we get the abs out? no, i can never reveal my secrets. never. she spray paints them on. i just spray paint them on. ok, i'll go get ready. zanna: oh my goodness. it's very pretty, very yellow. zanna: the sun just came out. oh, i love it. so pretty, right? zanna: were you involved in the creation of this? i let wes have his creative freedom. but he knows that i love the color yellow. so this worked out for me. i put all my trust in him.
9:09 pm
zanna: when choosing accessories, it's all about being both functional and chic. this is probably the way that i'm going to go because-- oh, nice. --i love one of these handles. zanna: a sturdy top. sturdy top handle. don't have to worry about losing anything. zanna: are we doing any other accessories? i got little studs. i got a little necklace. but nothing's too-- the outfit just speaks for itself. zanna: sabrina also keeps her makeup light and fresh with carolina herrera's makeup collection, putting on the perfect lipstick shade, nude touch, before running out the door. after the show. thank you so much. thank you. see you at carolina herrera. mwah. bye. well, over on peacock is the original movie shooting stars that's inspired by lebron james origin story. and it's a must-see because lebron only knows one way to be and that is the very best. but it was back in 2015 that lebron made his acting debut, playing himself in the amy schumer comedy trainwreck. we were on set with him and co-star bill hader
9:10 pm
for what would be lebron's very first time on access. you guys were on the court and that didn't go very well? for me, it didn't. yeah. up, up. scott: it was an odd couple pairing basketball superstar lebron james playing bill hader's best friend. our then host liz hernandez was on set in 2014. i barely made it to the set today. i woke up today and my back and hamstrings and quads i'm never doing a one-on-one scene with him again. did you know superman was created in cleveland? yeah, no, yeah, you told me that once. scott: lebron and bill both admitted they had instant chemistry. lebron, you are playing yourself, but bill's best friend. yeah, i'm like his love coach. he's like my love coach. his love interest is amy. and i'm trying to help him-- navigate? --and amy get to where they need to get to in life. yeah. you can't pay for this bill. [laughter] and how is he doing so far? amazing. it's kind of a bummer. he's like not only a really good basketball player, but he's actually-- he's really, really funny and a really good actor. is cleveland a good place to vacation?
9:11 pm
no. absolutely. it's like the perfect place to be for a honeymoon. scott: amy, multitasking as the film's star and writer, took the time to join our interview. oh, here's amy. oh we got a little video bombing going on. hey, it's me. who? who? it's me. who? who are you? right here. i'm not miked. who is this? you're not miked. hi, not miked. i'm in the movie. how did you get lebron to get in this film? lebron's a huge fan of mine. no, i just wrote my absolute dream cast. and then they all said yes. liz: how did lebron do on his first day? he was amazing, so funny, so smart. he was saying better jokes than were written off the cuff, which hurt my feelings. the jokes never stop in that movie. all right, next up, gabrielle union's journey in africa for her 50th birthday and how ththe trip hehelped her h heal. but, f first, someme music c news, shalall we? paul mccartney announced that through the help of artificial intelligence technology, there will be a new beatles song coming out this year. ai was able to modify john lennon's vocals

(singing) i want to be where the people are. camille: halle is one of the most talented d young ladidies e worked witith, and shehe trulys beautitiful from t the inside . scotott (voiceovover): halles mermaid hair transformation began wiwith camillele meeting e anand her famimily at theieir . i i really got to see who she was in her family environment. her mother and her sisters, they all have natural hair. and keeping her locks was really, really important, because it's part of who she is. so i was like, you know what? i can do this. scott (voiceover): halle told glamour she was grateful thatat the film's direrector, rob b marshall,, wantnted to keepep her nanatural lockcks. halle: t the fact ththat rob b really wananted toto champion n me and myy naturaral hair, anand keeping , was someththing that w was reallyly exciting g for me. rob marsrshall wawas like, cacamille, he goes, i love the locks idea. and he goes, i need to see that hair r dance in t the wat.
9:21 pm
i grew u up a swimmemer. i started thinking about how hair moves. so that's how i got started thinkingng about it.. scott (voioiceover): camille's team wrapped halle's locks in three shades of red hair to give it a multidimensional look. i said, i want the top of the line, the premium, 30-inch. we're going to custom color it and we're going to custom perm it. and then we started adding loose hair in between when we got her in the tank, and that hair was just dancing up, like, we did it. scott (v(voiceover):): and cacamille reveals achieving ariel's famous hair flip wasn't easy. camilllle: i was like, hahalle, you'r're goining to have e to build up your r neck musclcles. you got to do some exercises. because when the hair is wet, to get yourself cranked all the way forward to back-- so she practiced this a lot. and, also, the guys who were in the tank, they were really helpful in helping her hold her body. and so when she did it, it's amazing. and, y you know, w what girl d t want to geget out of t the pol and flip their hair back like that? come on. we all do. listen, if you got it, flip it. you know what i'm saying? now to another woman who is truly inspirational.

katie sullivan broke ground as a paralympian champion and is now making broadway history. she's the first ever actress who is an amputee to perform on broadway. and last weekend, the cost of living star was the first amputee nominated for a tony award. and we were with her as she got ready for the big night. hi, access hollywood. we are getting ready for the tonys. come on in. all of this is such a dream come true. it's so exciting. i feel like i have run the gamut of emotions. kit (voiceover): being nominated for a tony for her role as ani in cost of living is a full circle moment for katie, who has played the part since 2016, well before the play finally made its way to broadway. to go all the way not only to broadway, but then a tony nomination on top of that, i just don't think it gets any better than that. i hope this is just the beginnings of more, not just for me, but for other people to be able to tell our stories in an authentic way. kit (voiceover): katie, who was born without the lower
9:23 pm
halves of both her legs, has always dreamed of being an actress. when i was a disabled kid growing up in alabama, i had absolutely no reason to believe that any of this was possible. and i was like, i'm going to do this. why not? why can't i? kit (voiceover): and if going to the tonys wasn't sweet enough, the icing on the cake was getting to wear a custom christian siriano gown. he was the list. he was. there was no one else. i was like, christian siriano, that's it. i'm so over the moon excited to wear this dress. i didn't want to, like, cover my legs. i feel like that's such a huge part of the story. i keep calling it robot ballerina. i love that juxtaposition between that sort of lightness and femininity, and then the sort of hardness of the prosthetics with the metal. ok, dress time. here we go. let's do this. so excited to be wearing these verstolo earrings. i will tell you this. christian siriano knows how to snatch a waist.
9:24 pm
let's just say that. time to go to the tonys. thanks, access hollywood. bye! now, katie didn't win, but we expect to see much more of her in the future. all right. next up, it's been 31 years since mary j. blige released her hit "real love." now she tells us about the movie inspired by the song. we'll be right back.

(sininging) i'm m searchingg for a a real love, real love, real lovove. scott (v(voiceover):): mary j j, doing whwhat shshe does dururing the apple mumusic live c concert, sisinging her r 1992 hit t "real loveve." anand now thatat song is the insnspiration behihind mary's s new lifetie movie, mary j. blige's real love. it's one of two movies she's producing for lifetime. "real love" is one of my first ever big hits. to see it come to life as just amazing. i like you. you don't even know meme. i know e enough. scotott (voiceovover): real le is a a coming ofof age story thatat follows a ajiona alexexs kendra, anand da'vinchchi as b, searchching for rereal love. fofor mary, when she recorded the song in 1992, she says it was a painful time. the real love i was searching for was the love that i found for myself. and i had been searching for it in people forever. scott (voiceover): it was mary's messy divorce from kendu isaacs that changed her mindset. around 2003, i got married. in 2016, i got divorced.
9:28 pm
so in the middle of all of that was a lot of hatred. and you get to a point where you don't want to die, but you don't want to live like this anymore. to hear her reflection of her pain in her music, and to see the pain through her art, i think that also gives people motivation. i came out the divorce full strength of a woman. (singing) don't want what's yours. justst want whatat's mine. mary: ththe lyrics i in the song say e everything.g. once you find the love for yourself, you find that you're a strong woman. scott (voiceover): the story of kendra and ben continueues in ststrength of f a woman, jumping g ahead morere than 1 15 years. sometimes being strong is just surrendering. i love youou. i love thehe title strength o of a woman.n. because when you're more in tune with yourself, and you grow more, you u understandnd thatat you have e more powered ststrength by y just beingng s. scott (voiceover): and this summer, mary is also celebratating the 50th annnniversary h hip hop-- a fufull circle e mileste for ththe queen ofof hip hop s. 50 y years ago t they wewere callingng it noise.. my mom's-- tururn that noioise ! but when i i got old enough to embrace it,
9:29 pm
it gave us an identity and it gave us a an expressision. and so we're still here expressing ourselves through hip hop. and it's amazing. (s(singing) yoyou remind me-- real love e airs at 6:6:00 pm this satururday on lifetime, followed by the premiere of strength of a woman at 8:00. and if you miss any of those, you can catch them on demand and on mylifetime.com. all right, well, let's get to some style, shall we? we chase the sun straight to central park to show you the hottest tiktok trends in summer styles. and since beach season is here, apparently, what better place to start than under the sea? [upbeat music] mermaidcore is by far the most viral fashion trend on tiktok right now. it gives you total aquatic under the seas vibes, very much inspired by the brand-new remake of the little mermaid. kit: style expert sydney sadick says the trend, which is all about incorporating shades of blue and green, has over 165 million views on tiktok. i'm wearing this adorable maxi dress from cider. it retails for $30.
9:30 pm
it's the kind of dress that looks great on all women. kit: sydney says the dress is perfect for date night, a wedding, and everything in-between. and i love that this also combines little floral detail because flower chokers are major in accessories right now. so you're getting, like, a two-for-one trend right here. a metallic shoe is a great way to top off any mermaidcore look. and i'm loving this platform pair by steve madden because they have the embellishments on the tops. crochet is definitely the most talked about fabric in the world of fashion right now. this is a trend that originated back in the '60s and '70s. and like we like to say in fashion, what's old is new again. kit: and the best part about this long sleeve crocheted maxi dress, it transitions well from day to night. sydney: this is $60 from asos, such a great deal. kit: sydney amped up the look with some fun accessories. i'm loving this straw bag from amazon. it retails for $26. the rainbow hues are so fun. and we're picking up that green in the bag and taking the green down to her shoes with these steve madden flats. blokette means that it's all inspired by the boys. so think about a feminine take on sportswear,
9:31 pm
but not athleisure wear. it's about mixing baggy silhouettes with thin pieces that are a little more feminine. kit: sydney says the trend is clearly here to stay, since it has over 19 million views on tiktok, and has been spotted on celebs like bella hadid. but the key to nailing this trend? start with a cool pair of jeans. i am loving this pair by mavi. they retail for $64. and they have the rip right at the knee, which just gives it that really cool edgy effect. and then have fun with the top of this outfit. so instead of a classic little spaghetti strap bodysuit, go for a t-shirt bodysuit. this is super on trend. layer with a bomber jacket, which gives total varsity sportswear vibes. loving this version right here from forever 21. it retails for $36. kit: and sydney finished the look with another big trend we're seeing this summer, micro sunnies. sydney: for just $14 from amazon, it's the perfect way to top off this look. and she's killing it. all right, now, let's move on to kaley cuoco. she's starring now on the new peacock series based on a true story. but it was back in 2002 that she landed her breakout role
9:32 pm
in the sitcom 8 simple rules, playing john ritter's daughter, bridget. so let's take a look back at kaley's first time on access, when our then correspondent steven cojocaru visited the 16-year-old in the show's wardrobe room. this character, are you different from that? do you normally walk around wearing-- kaley: this is me. steven: so you're the real thing. jeans, tank top, whatever hats, funky hair, whatever. steven: you have this big thing with john ritter on the show where he's constantly giving you a hard time. do you have the same problem with your parents? oh, my god. dad, if you're listening, can you please lay off my back with my clothes? she's such a good girl. all the time. she's, like, a good girl. i can feel it. it's, like, all the time-- it's just like, john, i live my show at home. ok, that's what i thought. it's ok, it's every teenager, same thing. kit: on and off the show, kaley's style was the epitome of iconic early 20s fashion. and that style included showing off her abs. is this your favorite favorite of everything you've worn on the show? i really love this top, although i have to admit, this top really looks bad to you right now. but it is so hot. kit: and kaley even revealed a trick behind her wardrobe.
9:33 pm
ok, access hollywood, time to leave so i can change. no peeks. bye-bye. steven, are you ready? come on in. see how we made a normal button-down top into a cute, sassy 16-year-old-- oh, god, dad's at the door. first of all, no boys in your dressing room. i know, i know. john: are you out of your mind? i was putting this on. i don't know what you young people think you're doing, but this does not cover a 16-year-old girl. so is this top ok? no! what-- are they recording? is this on film? love seeing her then and now, and as a new mama. next up, golf cart confession time with chelsea handler. we'll be right back. [rock music]
9:36 pm
but i wouldn't minind being, like, a didivorced dadad, you k? [laughter] i cocould crush h that role, comingng in hot at, like, 50% all l the time.. scscott: chelslsea handlerr bringiging the lauaughs in her n netflix spepecial. she's also back on tour now. and no surprise, it's going so well, chelsea just added shows. and to celebrate, chelsea and i headed to the universal studios backlot, where she has a little history. on the way, we played a little round of golf cart confessions. ooh-ooh! [upbeat music] come on, scott, let me hold you like a baby. we have much to discuss. uh-oh. it's time to get in the golf cart. uh-oh! you ready for this? yes, i'm ready! let's do this! it's an honor to have funny lady chelsea along for the ride.
9:37 pm
and we didn't travel far before we came upon the old home of her late night talk show, chelsea lately. oh, yeah, i used to work here. this is my old chelsea lately spot. ok, wait, what does that feel like? what does it feel like to be-- it feels like nothing. it's so weird. there's no emotion-- it feels like driving by an ex-boyfriend who i can barely remember. like, it's just in the past. scott: you killed that time slot. you killed that format. is it ever something you want to return to? oh, i mean, i loved it. and i love doing it. yes, i will do it. if the right opportunity presents itself, i would love to do that again. scott: in the meantime, fans are going to love seeing chelsea on the road for her new comedy tour. chelsea: the tour that i'm on is called little big tour. ok, wait-- because i talk about how i became this person. because i was born this way. i didn't develop this personality, it just came out. and so when i was three, i was already talking like this. so it was very scary for my parents. scott: and you're the youngest of six? chelsea: six kids, yeah. so my parents obviously weren't using any sort of birth control

or making any financial plans for having a large family. all right, chelsea, this is the rapid round. ok. worst first date location? coffee. really? i find that to be a very annoying first date. i don't like coffee. and i don't like coffee places. and i don't want to sit there. i want to have a drink on a first date. do you believe yourself to be a in love type? what would be the goal? the goal is to find love and be in love. like, who doesn't love that feeling? exactly. ok, tell me this-- who is the most famous person in your phone right now? i don't know who the most-- ariana grande. she's famous. i'd say. do you have her in your phone as ariana grande, or is there a code name? no, i think i have it in as ariana grande. if you were not a comedian, an author, entertainer, producer, what would you be? probably a farm-to-table gynecologist.
9:39 pm
anyway, it was great to meet you. a what? [laughter] tickets for chelsea's additional shows are on sale on chelseahandler.com. all right, let's talk football. meet mike mcallister, who went from volunteer firefighter to the nfl when he was signed by the la rams as an undrafted free agent. and now, he tells us how he's working hard to become a permanent member of the team. [upbeat music] starting out, it's obviously just to make the roster, get on the team, be part of the 53-man roster. but then that's not an ending, that's a beginning. i want to become a starter, be a heavy contributor, help this team win games. scott: mike's work ethic is rooted in his pennsylvania upbringing. he began playing football at an early age. at 14, he began giving back to his community that supported him under those friday night lights by volunteering at the local fire department. mike: they say football's a team game. that's what firefighting is. if one person's not on the same page, you jeopardize the whole situation.
9:40 pm
scott: by 18, he had fought his first fire. it was minus 19 that day. and i remember just being soaking wet before i even got in the door because water's everywhere. hands frozen, there's a layer of ice on my gear. i remember going in and just seeing fire. and it was one of the coolest experiences ever. scott: he earned a walk-on position at youngstown state in ohio. and while he was undrafted, he caught the eye of rams recruiters and was invited to the rams minicamp. his firefighting family couldn't be happier for him. same goes for his family. my mom and dad and my sisters, they've been through this every step of the way with me. they got to the point where they put the pressure on me to do this. and when the opportunity came, they sent me on my way and said, you got this. you've always done well. and go do you, go be you, and you're going to do great. scott: mike also had the support of his girlfriend, whom he met during his junior year of college. when i called her that night and said that i was going to be an la ram, she couldn't be happier. i think she might have broke down in tears a little bit. you've got to love that support. and we'll find out later this summer if he makes the team.
9:41 pm
and speaking of the rams, i just hit up their practice facility, where anthony anderson and cedric the entertainer were cooking up something pretty special for the fellas. [upbeat music] now, you might have heard of the kings of comedy and television over here. but they're also the kings of barbecue. is that right? yeah, yeah. come on. yeah, yeah, yeah. talk to me about how this ac barbecue came to be. well, it really just stands for anthony and i's friendship over 20-plus years. scott: 20 years? cedric: yeah, man, and just started thinking about in the food space, where is an opportunity to make a splash, man? and barbecue was just one of these things that means so much to our community. ced and i wanted to put a face to barbecue and create this barbecue lifestyle. scott: so that's what they did. and they're filming the whole journey in their new a&e tv series, , kings of b bbq, including how they came up with the slogan for their new brand. got t a new one-e-- ac barbebecue-- bestst friendnds in your mouth.
9:42 pm
i mean, , we're best friends, and-- yeah, bubut-- the flflavors whenen they ea. - --your moututh? it's a almost-- [f[falsetto] scotott: best frfriends in your mouth? i mean, so ac is the barbecue. uh-huh. right. and you taste it. right. we're best-- we're best friends. and we're-- now, we're in your mouth. [record scratch] scott: tell me what's happening today. cedric: we have a great relationship with the rams. and i thought this would be really a fun opportunity to take care of the guys-- taste the food, talk about it, feed them. want some of these ribs, bruh? ok. scott: rams head coach sean mcvay was thrilled to hang with cedric and anthony. the guys are fans of them. i'm a fan of them. they've been supporters of us the last handful of years. scott: and i wasn't leaving without a little taste. that is good stuff right there. oh, hold on, hold on. you gotta wipe the flavor off your face. yeah-- gotta wipe-- that's another saying, wipe the flavor off your face. uh-huh. see, y'all ain't ready. we got 100 of 'em. but this is it. all right. that's it. anthony: there you go. cedric: let's go, baby. my cheeks still hurt with those two.
9:45 pm
off to the show. thank you so much. thank you. see you at carolina herrera. [kiss] bye. scott: and now, more from the carolina herrera resort collection 2024 show in rio. only we were with sabrina carpenter as she got ready. now led d by creativive direrector wes g gordon, it was t the brand's's first titime doing a a runway shsw
9:46 pm
outside of new york. access guest correspondent zanna roberts rassi was in rio with wes, who encountered an unexpected (french accent) challenge. what can we expect on this mega runway tonight? this-- when i actually saw the runway, i got very nervous. why? because it's just-- it's so amazing. and i was like, i hope the clothes do the runway justice and the location justice. look at the rainbow. zanna: we have a rainbow. we actually have a rain-- this is-- i mean, luck is in. this location is so beautiful that if it rains, it rains. what can we do? the threat of rain could not take away from rio's breathtaking views from the runway or the anticipation for the show, as models got finishing touches backstage. wes: so the collection-- i wanted to kind of challenge the idea of what's dressy and what's casual, what's daytime, what's nighttime, and just play with pieces that are fabulous and fun. someone who's very excited to be here because i just got ready with her earlier, sabrina carpenter. wes: sabrina is wearing a piece from this collection, actually. it's knit. and i like the spirit of knit because you can pack it up in your carry-on bag and go to rio for the weekend. zanna: now, the casting is very special.
9:47 pm
we have 100% brazilian models out here. wes: it just so happens that brazil is responsible for the most iconic, beautiful supermodels of all time. zanna: tell me about what it's like to walk in your hometown. i got the chills when we were doing the rehearsal. it's brazilian music, brazilian women. zanna: tell me about these fantastic looks you girls are wearing. how can you not love it? the carolina herrera woman is strong. zanna (voiceover): as the show was about to begin, guests were prepared for possible rain with ponchos and umbrellas. sabrina's bringing the sunshine. it's so beautiful. i actually prefer the rain. i think it makes it more fun and interesting. zanna (voiceover): but no one could predict just how wild a scene the catwalk would become. as a sudden downpour was unleashed from the sky, workers rushed to mop the runway, and guests scurried out of their seats. we all rushed to the venue next door for shelter. and while organizers figured out a plan, they started the after party early. at the bash which celebrated herrera's new fragrance, go girl blush, you would never know that the show almost never happened. wes: we decided to stop for the girls' safety.
9:48 pm
and it was the most amazing thing because the models all insisted on doing the show. and so we put on the show, and we did it with no audience. zanna (v(voiceover):): some of the momodels wawalked barefefoot, holdidg theieir heels asas they strutted through the p puddles. ththe fashion n house's sisigne polka dotsts had a chihic prese. anand vibrant t colors insnspd byby brazilianan landscapeps cascscaded down n the runway. fittiningly, the highlight of the show was a a rainbow-ruruffled tulle skirirt. vevery emotiononal, eveveryone bacackstage, because it was the most amazing thing. congratulations, everyone! woo! [cheering] now, to jordana brewster. there she is, showing off her action skills and fast x. she's bebeen part ofof the fafast franchihise, though, sisince it begegan in 2. but zuriri just met t up with her far r from the e exotic ft locations, at her home. and that's where jordana told her all about being a mom to sons nine-year-old julian and rowan, who's six. jordana: coming. hello, gorgeous.
9:49 pm
how are you? so good to see you. i'm assuming, with this gorgeous, massive island, this is the gathering place. is this where the family hangs? it's the gathering place, where we all have breakfast, dinner. the boys sometimes do like science experiments here. and i'm like, get that stuff off my counter! zuri (voiceover): the messes aside, jordana is reaping the benefits of being a mom of two young boys. jordana: i'm learning so much from them. do they get you in on the dances? all of the-- they were doing, like, that thing, which i obviously never got. but yeah, they seem to know a lot more than i do these days. ok, got it. do they know that mom is famous? do they care? jordana: well, more and more people have been coming up to me after the movie came out, especially. i love the billboards because then i'm like, guys, (whispering) check, out mommy. (speaking) as we're driving to like soccer practice, i'm like, look up there. zuri: that's a good flex. jordana: and i'm not ashamed of flex, either. own it. own it. jordana: if i'm really upset at them, i'm like, i'm going to call uncle ben. no, no. don't do that. don't do that. i'm coming for you, son. zuriri (voiceovever): now 42, jordanana is enjoyoying all of the franchise's success.
9:50 pm
and personally, life is good too. she married businessman mason morfitt last year. zuri: now, i want to congratulate you because you're technically still in your newlywed era. yes. so how has it been? jordana: just finding the love of my life in my 40s is really special. it's like being given a new chance. it's really cool. gorgeous. and any special summer plans for the family? just hanging out and juggling the kids and camp schedules. zuri (voiceover): and with all these boys in the house this summer, it's a good thing jordana partnered with lysol laundry sanitizer to help beat the stink. jordana: the product itself has, like, changed my life because my boys practice jujitsu, flag football, baseball, hockey. so their uniforms get very, very stinky, and they only get one of them per season. so with lysol laundry sanitizer, i realized that if i add that to my routine, the stink is gone. one and done-- you hit the button and boom. some good tips for your fam. all right. how about some wedding news? naomi watts and billy crudup tied the knot after dating since 2017.
9:51 pm
naomi broke the news with a series of photos on instagram. look at them, happy couple. we do love new beginnings. but on the flip side, are we nearing the end for ted lasso? or could there be a season four? that was the question to the cast. we don't know. we don't know. i think people think we do, and we're just very good at hiding it. but we genuinely don't know. i have no idea. i don't have access-- see what i did there-- to that information. you want another one? ok. i'll find jason. we'll let him know, yeah. interviewer: how emotional was your final scene? well, i-- do you know what my final scene was? getting to show rebecca the presentation that keeley has of a afc richmonond. [yells]] kit (v(voiceover):): it's a s storyline which has sparked rumors of a potential spin-off show for keeley and rebecca. we will see more of the ted lasso cast in the upcoming emmys, where the show is predicted to win its third straight best comedy series award,
