yesterday's morning temperatures. we'll struggle to warm up in the city. 59 degrees by mid morning. in san jose starting with the cloud cover and we'll warm up go into the lunch time hour. lots of us will see the low to mid 70s in the south bay. 60s on the coastline and 71 in mountain view. we'll talk about our microclimate forecast and the weekend forecast where i'm seeing a warm up as we go into the second half of it. we'll look at that in a second. we'll now take a look at traffic. it's clear here. let's look at the bay bridge. the drive is fine. not a lot of incidents to

report. you'll see some slow censors here. everything is moving nicely. very little slowing. just a little brake tapping. things open up in livermore. back over to you. now to a developing story. police are investigating a deadly shooting outside of bart's station near union square. it happened about 8:30 last night at powell and market street. witnesses say the gunman was exiting that station along with a woman and then shot a man who got off of the same train. police not confirming any of those details, but say no arrests have been made. ginger conejero saab is following the developments and she'll have a report in the next half hour. new developments about the victims from a deadly crash.

>> this is so sad. family and friends are devastated because the two people who died were two brothers. pete suratos is live where the crash happened in dublin. pete, there's now a memorial for those two young men. >> reporter: yeah. we've seen the outpouring of support for those brothers. there's a memorial here in dublin. you have the candles, the flowers and the names of the two brothers etched on that tree that you see behind me. as far as the details on this crash, we know it took place on tuesday night along doherty road in dublin. the driver of the car, 25-year-old driver, crashing a bmw into a tree and light pole, the car then bursting into flames. the brothers were inside that car. they're identified as adam and

calib. they died in that crash. we spoke with a friend at the memorial. >> as simple as it may seem, it's a reminder to be more careful. it's also to not take a single day for granted. >> reporter: we're told they had a love for cars and were in their 20s. one was attended law school. both graduated from doherty high. last check with dublin, they believe that excessive speed played a factor. live in dublin, pete suratos. >> so sad. pete, thank you. 5:05. san francisco district attorney brook jenkins is explaining her new policy on drug users. she announced that people cited

for drug use a second time will be taken to a special court called community justice center. social workers there will refer people to drug treatment. jenkins believes this is essential. >> we see death rates for overdose still rising. this is a time we need to be taking a stronger approach. it's about getting people help. we need to be doing that now. >> the new policy will allow first offenders to be discharged. repeat offenders will receive charges for first and second offenses. tomorrow marks one year since the dobbs decision when the supreme court overturned roe versus wade. a new nbc news poll looks at voter reaction. more than 6 in 10 voters remain opposed to that ruling.

breaking it down further, nearly 80% of women voters 49 and younger. it goes to two thirds for suburban women. 6 in 10 independent voters and nearly one third of republicans disapprove of the court's decision. one health care provider points out the impact runs deep especially in places like rural georgia where ob/gyn doctors are scare. >> we know that we're going to see a rise in maternal deaths because of this decision. that makes georgia one of the most dangerous places to birth in the developed world. >> abortion opponents argue that people have other means to see a doctor, including telemedicine. 23 states have banned or restricted abortion. some hotly anticipated rulings may be coming down from the u.s. supreme court.

it's not completely clear, but looking at it there might have been a small crash. watch out for the folks around you. the lane changes on the right looking smooth. good morning. happy friday to you. last week we had a big rally, particularly in tech stocks. this week that really did not materialize. another down day for some of the markets thursday. meta says it will cut off news access on facebook and instagram after canada ordered meta to pay news providers. california thinking about passing a similar law. starbucks workers at more than 150 stores say they plan to walk off the job today. they're protesting a small number of starbucks outlets that restricted the number of pride decorations employees could put up. starbucks says its support for the gay community is, quote,

system made its way out of the region. as we go through the day, hour by hour, for the lunch time hour we're seeing it push back to the coast. we'll see clearing through napa and the east bay. then we'll see it roll back in here as we go into tonight. light drizzle towards the coast. saturday we'll wake up to the cloud cover too. the winds not as strong as they've been. by the middle of the day a slight breeze through the city and starting to pick up, but not as much, 30 miles an hour tops as we go into the afternoon. be careful on the roadways. speaking of high temperatures for the ice cream, whatever you want to eat on this friday, 71 in freemont and 75 in morgan hill. tomorrow those temperatures will start to warm up. we have 78 in fairfield. 68 in san mateo and 70s through

"today in the bay" ginger conejero saab is there this morning. are police talking about arrests at this people? >> reporter: good morning, kris and marcus. no, at this point unfortunately police have not made any arrests. it remains an active investigation. officers say everything happened around 8:30 last night. officers got to the scene to render aid to a man who was

shot. now, this happened at the transit plaza below ground level at the powell street bart station in downtown san francisco. the victim was brought to the hospital where sfpd confirmed he died. the police issued a statement last night. witnesses on the scene shed a bit more light as to what led up to the shooting. >> i hear a guy give a young lady a compliment, tell her how beautiful she looks. nothing happened. everything kept going. next thing you know it's time to get to the stop. the dude said something else. the guy who gave the compliment responded back and the guy shot him twice in the chest, over the girl. >> reporter: the investigation into the fatal shooting continues this morning. so far, as mentioned, there have been no arrests. sfpd is asking if you know anything about the shooting, contact their tip line.

anti-asian crime. activists today plan to hold a rally before that hearing. along with shock, so many unanswered questions this morning after the confirmation that all five people aboard the tour submarine died from a sudden implosion shortly after going missing sunday. for days the story held the world's attention. the coast guard saying the sub imploded shortly after its last communication with control teams. this is as it dove 12,000 feet underwater to view the "titanic" wreckage. the u.s. navy saying surveillance equipment picked up the blast when it happened. because the evidence was not definitive, the coast guard kept searching. >> from what we observed, we understand that this was a catastrophic implosion. that would have generated a pressure wave and we didn't hear any of that throughout the whole search when we had sonar in the

water. we're continuing to use data and information to look at that. >> the coast guard saying that debris is located about 1,600 feet from the "titanic." most experts agree retrieving it may be too great of a challenge. we're celebrating pride all month long. we want to take a live look at san francisco where pride weekend is about to get under way. we have a lot of events leading up to the big parade on sunday. to kick off the weekend, the county clerk is marrying 250 couples at city in celebration of san francisco lgbtq+ history. the newly married couples will get come mem ra tv pride marriage certificates. the weddings are super fun. it's so special to get married at san francisco city hall.

it's 5:43, finally friday. let's go to the east bay, richmond, good morning. little chilly in the mid 50s. we'll see a warmup as we head deeper into the weekend. things are fine over there, looking great over here. oakland northbound direction no problems headed to the bay bridge. fears over crime and drug use in san francisco have captured national attention. presidential candidates are also weighing in. >> a campaign ad released earlier florida governor and presidential hopeful ron desantis visited san francisco. he described it as a once great city that has collapsed.

today, we're seeing what we were seeing yesterday with the 60s along the coastline, mid to upper 60s along the shore line. 66 in oakland and low 70s in san jose with 75 down in morgan hill. as we go into tomorrow, we're seeing a touch warmer as that low pressure system finally starts to back off. we'll be at 78 in fairfield and morgan hill. 68 in santa cruz and 62 in san francisco. we'll slowly start to warm up once we get into sunday. mid to upper 70s in the inland valley and then we build up the heat into the middle of the week where we're back to the 80s. san francisco staying cool in the 60s for the pride parade sunday and the bay bridge going to be busy as it is this morning, right, mike? maybe busier. it's a slow build here. the metering lights have been activated.
