>> jac: we are under two minutes in the north division championship game. michigan with the four-point lead. pittsburgh with the ball just short of midfield. >> jason: i hope some nfl decision-makers are watching this game, because what mike pereira did to clean up that call to make sure the call was right in the critical moments of a divisional game for the right to go to the championship game, it just makes the game so much better. and it's an easy mechanism. mike pereira and the crew handle it the right way, and there's justice. it's something the nfl should look at. >> jac: can williams answer? here's troy. navigating that pocket, now flips the football forward to his running back, it's groshek. and look at him go.

8:15 pm
you do want to keep one of them. i'd anticipate some sort of an rpo. the option to hand it off. if he likes the match-up outside. go to the run/pass option and throw the ball. looks like it's going to be man-to-man coverage on the outside receivers. >> jac: williams. on the roll -- throws it just out of bounds. so, now it will be third and goal. 51 ticks remain. >> jason: and who else? frank ginda. this guy's everywhere. really instinctive player. anticipated the sprintout. good coverage on the right side. of that michigan defense. two downs for a championship, jac.

i didn't see -- >> i'm good, no time-outs, i'm good. >> jac: what are you thinking here, play-call wise? fourth and goal, just inside the 7 yard line. >> jason: the biggest thing you want to do is give yourself option. if they heat us up, what do we do? do we have a fade flow we can make? if you have an rpo-type thing, you go to a couple different people, that's what you want to do. looks like it's going to be a four-man rush and they're going to play some single high with some man coverage outside. >> jac: williams towards the end zone, it is caught for the touchdown! ishmael hyman! and pittsburgh takes the lead.
8:19 pm
>> jason: always interesting to see who's talking to who before the play. and troy williams and ishmael hyman were in a deep conversation during that time-out. tomlinson, the offensive coordinator, put hyman inside in the slot, and they ran a quick slant, a quick post. got inside leverage and troy williams was right on the money. wow. >> jac: here's chris blewitt. that extra point is good. three-point pittsburgh lead. >> jason: pittsburgh loves the empty set. hymann is in the s slot ovever . he r runs up anand runs a p pos route.e. it's a big-time throw by troy williams. hold it right there if you can. you'll see kai nacua.

>> jason: we used to have three, at the most four, but then you can use your low red zone plays in this situation. but if you're in this league, if you ever go into overtime, you know you're going to need three of them, so, you better have a healthy menu of plays, and there's no doubt both these teams do. >> jac: round one, here we go. pittsburgh, the first opportunity. >> jason: and they're in empty. >> jac: here's williams. throw is caught. successful. so, the maulers strike first. it's mason stokke reeling it in. 29-27.
