dramatic thanks for joining us on the special edition of nbcbayarea news. san francisco celebrated its 53rd annual pride parade today with the grad nearing one many people and it was just as cost colorful and festive as you would expect. >> the theme of this year's create is looking back and moving forward. nbcbayarea's emma goss was a bear was there. we met a joyful celebration of pride on market street on sunday. marching with rainbow flags members of the lgbtq+ communities and allies shared the parade route with cheerleaders and many local and state leaders including san francisco mayor london breed and congresswoman nancy pelosi. >> this is our first pride together so for us it's magical but it's wonderful we can spend it here with my wife. and my daughter and her best

but is reopened moments ago. we will continue to focus and bring you updates as we get them. vallejo police investigation after two suspects led officers on a chase. it happened yesterday morning. the chp said the pursuit started when the two suspects in this white car you see there, they were brandishing firearms at officers and bystanders. a chp alec.after a chp helicopter dirt track them and they got out of the car and tried to run but officers caught them and put them in custody. to make an unusual crash with an all-terrain vehicle haywood. this happened yesterday afternoon and the driver failed to make a turn on lynnfield lane from peterman avenue. that's south of the 880 and 92 entities. atv rolled over in the 37-year- old man driving died at the scene. investigator said the man was driving fast and not clear if alcohol drugs played a role. no one else was hurt. >> for more than a half a century, a bay area woman

always wondered what happened to her husband. he's the man you see here. u.s. air force fighter flight missing in action during the vietnam war and. now at age 90, joyce desoto from burlingame finally has answers but she met ernest in high school and were married 12 years and had three kids and the pilot was reported missing in vietnam. a u.s. recovery agency working with a team in vietnam search a remote site where his plane was shot down and recovered a bone. more than one year later scientist use dna to confirm the loan was desoto's remains. they also recovered a zipper from his flight suit. >> its closure. he's here. he didn't suffer. he was actually killed in the airplane which i have never known. >> desoto's children say they believe their mom has finally some closure and their dad who received a purple heart can receive the recognition he deserves at military unit later

a follow-up note to a story we first brought you last week. it has been a problem for months. animal shelters in the bay area over capacity and they need to clear it before they start euthanizing for the oakland animal services shelter being one of them especially when it comes to large dogs. 98 dogs. if they don't get adopted by two they will face being put down. last week bay area shelter directors reached out to the public urging adoption so they wouldn't have to euthanize any dogs but they are also looking for people who can foster. a example of why we should not drink and drive. early this morning's hp officers in santa cruz got a call about that truck that went off a cliff and into the ocean. it happened on the east cliff drive officer say the driver was a 50-year-old man from san jose and he was driving under the influence. he did have some serious

injuries from the crash and also later arrested for dui. a signed fire season is here. cruz and brentwood have continued brushfire that put cattle in danger today. you can see that by right there putting up a lot of smoke. it was burning near deer valley road and chadbourne road. the fire threatened one home. the flames burned 73 acres. look at this aerial view. it shows the hot spot right there. you can see all that black area. 35 cattle nearby were released from a nearby field so they wouldn't get hurt. the cause is under investigation. >> a first on the pencil stay. san mateo county held its first fireworks buyback. cher's deputies were in redwood city handing out money to anyone who turned in illegal or safe and sane fireworks and it didn't matter. people could earn up to 75 bucks depending on the weight of the item started. the fourth of july is just nine days away now. the sheriff department is hoping this buyback makes the holiday just a little bit safer. >> the sheriff's office wants

interbay and inland east bay or don't be surprised to see wet roads from drizzle. but temperatures will be mild and and north of lake county north of interstate 80 or around the sierra. a drizzly start to your monday with mid-50s as we head towards made dates. close to what we had today. still low 70s around san jose. barely low 60s for san francisco. mid 60s in oakland. and about 77 around santa rosa and fairfield. the warmest temperatures we see for monday and probably tuesday similar. but on wednesday, thursday and friday, high pressure builds in and this is stronger high- pressure than we have seen for the last couple of weeks. and the reason why, look at those seven day forecast on the bottom of the screen. temperatures climb up so let's move forward through the warm- up coming up this week thursday

turning now to our climate in crisis. the weather is once again cause for concern in wine country. the bay area has had an unusually cool, overcast summer so far. that means plants are growing slower and will ripen later. why is that a problem? the later grapes ripen the more chance they will be exposed to wildfire smoke at the height of fire season in fall. right now the vines are thriving after record rainfall. in fact some growers say that it is significantly more fruit

of inappropriately touching a half-dozen patient. now a new accusation is surfacing. very similar to the accusations from all those years ago. we are calling this recent accuser jane doe because she does not want to be identified. jane and her husband had become to the marin fertility center four months before meeting this doctor. >> we wanted a family and we wanted to create something that was a product of the two of us. >> reporter: in december of 2021, jane was scheduled for a transvaginal ultrasound but when she arrived, she says her normal doctor wasn't there. >> the new doctor walked in and i never seen him before. i was hesitant. there is a strange man who i have never met who is now here to stick something inside of me. >> reporter: she had gone through the procedure before the gap in her feet in stirrups and a pro used to monitor the growth of her eggs but this

time is different. before inserting the probe, jane said the doctor inappropriately stroked and fondled her in a way no doctor ever had. the allegations are included in a lawsuit she recently found against the dock dirk and marin fertility center. >> when did you know something was wrong? >> i knew what was happening wasn't okay and i knew it was wrong and nobody had ever touched me like that before. >> there was a nurse in the room and what were they doing at this time? >> he is at my feet and she is behind him at the door looking at a tablet. >> he was blocking her view. >> he was blocking her view. >> reporter: jane said she left the clinic trying to process what happened and started researching the doctor online and came across some disturbing information posted on a patient safety advocates website nbcbayarea requested the same records from the california medical board did and confirmed that they are legitimate.

>> it was exactly the same as what he did to me. >> reporter: the wreckage of the california medical board filed an accusation against the doctor back in 1997. alleging he inappropriately touched six female patients between 1987 and 1994. the descriptions of each are nearly identical and mirror what jane says happened to her. in each case, according to the records, the doctor allegedly inappropriately rubbed or funneled but s of women going through infertility treatment. in at least four of the cases the accusations days a nurse was in the room. the doctor reached a settlement with the board without committing liability. they required him to go through pelvic exams, sensitivities and communication. >> here i am, 30 years later and he's still doing it. how in the was i allowed to be

put in a room with this guy? >> reporter: jane reported the a legend result with marin filter center and file this please report the following week. but the doctor was never criminally charged. in march, she filed her lawsuit against the dock and marin fertility center. >> she can barely have anyone touch her after this dr. did. >> reporter: jane does attorney said marine patrol center was negligent for hiring this dr. and placed her client in harms way. >> now, are you telling me that marin fertility center that was retained this dr. services couldn't even have done a simple google search as a background to check on him because all of this information comes up and has been available for years. >> reporter: in a statement, an attorney representing marin fertility center, said that the doctor has not use the facility in over a year and was never directly employed by the

business. the attorney declined to comment further citing the pending litigation. >> we were able to reach the doctors attorney by phone. who allowed us to record this conversation. >> those allegations are completely, totally, thoroughly, falls. he noted the da declined to file criminal charges and had this to say about the nurse in the room. >> that nurse was interviewed and completely denied that anything untoward ever happened inside that medical room during that examination. >> reporter: as for the allegations from the 80s and 90s -- >> if there allegations of 30 or 40 years ago and nothing in between then and now, i think those kinds of allegations would be quite suspect as well. >> reporter: jane doe and her husband are still trying to get pregnant. but she says her experience with this dr. has darkened and already difficult journey. >> we are still not pregnant.

comeback. a lot of low clouds and drizzle for morning. then the temperatures begin to slowly climb as the skies start to clear inland. temperatures close to what we saw today. low 70s insanity. mid-70s around morgan hill and chile near 60 in san francisco and low 60s there and mid-70s around the inland east bay. the trigger for the big warm-up is strong high pressure that will build in as we head toward saturday. notice the temperature trend here. thursday, now you got 80s to near 90. 70s for most places bayside. friday and saturday, the warmest days for this little heat spike that will come later this week will be in the upper 80s in santa fe. 90s four morgan hill and mid- 90s in fairfield. oakland closer to the upper 70s on saturday and near 90 in san jose. and mid-90s in reach. morgan heel and fairfield in the upper 50s that they will be 30 degrees warmer by the end of the week. as we continue on with the fourth of july. look at the top of the screen. the high-pressure should get weaker a bit and maybe more of a seabreeze but likely holding onto 80s and maybe some low 90s

at the 7-10 day forecast. a blustery start of the week with drizzle at times but even san francisco with temperatures climbing closer to 70 ride inside a trending maybe cooler on sunday. but here is the big change for the valleys that have been in the 60s and 70s. all that may gray and june gloom will go away as you got numbers now trending quite a bit hotter. upper 80s and maybe some mid- 90s to start next weekend. given how chilly it has been cut despite it will be a big shot as we felt from the 62 the 90s across those valleys to start next weekend. one special teacher got a very big surprise at oracle park yesterday. eric bertelsen. he has been eight teacher for 44 years and currently teaches music at wells middle school.
