fighting in ukraine on friday turned his men around and launched an armed rebellion against russia after he claimed that the russian army fired at his mercenaries. then his men crossed the border into russia. they easily gained control of the city the major city of rostov inside russia and then marched towards moscow, almost facing little or no resistance from the russian army but when it got to about 120 miles from moscow, prigozhin decided to stop the advance, claiming that he wanted to avoid spilling russian blood it later emerged that he signed with a deal with vladimir putin brokered by alexandr lukashenko, the leader of belarus where prigozhin is believed to be now. >> and claudio, what do you think this could mean for putin's rule going forward >> well, it was a stunning turn of events of course over the

reason god is the main reason why i'm here >> reporter: for the 49-year-old amputee, it wasn't on the job. it began as a motorcycle accident in august of 2021 >> i lost my leg on impact i'd -- the motorcycle split my pelvis, catapult me to the woods. i open up my eyes, i was in the back of a helicopter i remember seeing the red light and hearing the propeller. >> reporter: baez spent three weeks in a coma, having to be resuscitated six times but it was an awakening that changed his life. >> when i woke up from the coma, i was told that i had a blood clot near my heart that had nothing to do with the accident. that if they wouldn't have found it during that period of time, i probably would have had a heart attack a few weeks later. >> reporter: with a new lease on life, embracing both firefighting and faith, baez made it his mission to stay positive and to get back to

work >> i had to start to learn how to walk again. the rehab, we started doing a lot of climbing ladders, started doing a lot of pushing things. >> reporter: beginning with light duty at the fire station, and now earning his way officially to full-time. >> it's a blessing it's a blessing. >> reporter: this hero is back on the truck, perhaps after making his biggest rescue of all. >> i believe it was a miracle. >> reporter: saving himself. >> i have no doubt that everything is going to be possible >> and our thanks to kerstin glavine for that story what a positive outlook on life. >> and that perspective, right, to have the grace to know that all these challenges you've been given are for a reason, and to turn them around and head in the direction he is. that is an amazing thing good for him a north carolina couple invited plenty of guests to their wedding, but two of the most special guests were with the bride ever step of the way >> dr. morris and dr. holiday always tell me at my checkups, we do what we do because we give people another life.
