12:03 pm
we're at, the sand was too hot, too hot to touch with one's feet. this is nice for a lot of tourists who have been arriving here throughout the day, this weekend, miami beach has received a large number of tourists. miami beach in fact is the number one beach city destination in the u.s. for the fourth of july. they're going to be processing about a million passengers at miami international airport, we've also spoken to some of the lifeguards here, they were prepared with more staff, more boats in the water, they've been telling a lot of the tourists, who aren't familiar with this heat or the beach conditions to be extra careful with the water, with the sunscreen and staying in the shade and of course if they do in the ocean to pay extra attention to those rip currents. there's been a lot of talk about the shark ken counters the last

questions about how all of this unfolded last night. we know that it was just before midnight as this big fourth of july block party that happens on the west side of ft. worth was wrapping up when gunfire erupted. police say when they arrived on the scene it was chaos, vehicles everywhere, there were people on foot everywhere. we're talking about hundreds of people who typically attend this block party which spans numerous blocks in that area and so police say they found multiple victims in a parking lot. some police officers found victims in other areas, ambulances weren't able to get to, one officer had to put a victim in their vehicle and take that victim to an ambulance in order to get help, and as it stands right now, the investigation is still ongoing, no word on a suspect whether this was one shooter or multiple shooters, of course the big question was the motive, why this happened? still unanswered at this moment.
12:09 pm
>> chilling details. priscilla, what else do we know about the victims? >> reporter: yeah, we know that there were a total of 11 victims, three killed and eight injured, taken to the hospital. one of those victims was a juvenile, no word yet if that victim was injured or whether they were killed, but this is incredibly devastating for this community, it was two years ago at this event that there was another shooting and people were injured and so to see this happen again in this community the mayor just talking about that devastation and saying even one life loss is too many. >> it's senseless, man, people came into a family environment with guns and start shooting randomly. we got to be better than this as a community. >> reporter: so certainly officers there and around the

a private residence, there were five people two were shot and in that case, thankfully a suspect was arrested and we know that the unit is investigating that. scary to think that someone pulled out a gun at a festival where hundreds of people were present and started shooting because of an altercation but we don't know their motives. but endangering those lives. an open question of when they're going to find this suspect. whether they have leads here to track this person down. >> really important reporting, priscilla thompson, thank you. we've got dramatic video out of texas after a high-speed chase with a truck. he sped away. he can be seen here driving on
