the fact it comes after the writers have already been on strike since may, we have seen so much production shut down and now everything will come to a screeching halt at a time when the media industry is already struggling with declining advertising revenues and the fact that the box office has not fully returned to pre-pandemic levels now you don't have actors out promoting their films or tv new tv shows in the fall. i think it is coming at a really tough time in the industry. >> everyone is going to pay. the studios will pay because of this strike. the actors, the crews. well beyond those striking it, it affects this whole industry. a whole economy built around hollywood. since they're both getting hurt by production getting stopped, what is going to bring people to the table and say, okay, let's work this out. >> i mean, look, it's going to take some time. i heard speculation from ceos and executives that it could last into the fall and it could real be months. but the question here is how i

interstate 880 involving at least 15 vehicles. the first crash was deadly and included five cars. it happened at about 1:30 this morning southbound near 66th avenue. one person died, another is in the hospital with unknown injuries. two later later with traffic control in place, ten cars piled up behind that initial crash when an approaching car sideswiped several stopped cars. two more people are in the hospital from that crash. all lanes were cleared at about 5:00 a.m. let's take a look at the weather with meteorologist kari hall. it's going to be hot. >> yes, especially for the inland valleys. temperatures reach their peak on saturday. it's going to feel much hotter for this afternoon and we are going to continue to see hot weather for sunday as well. monday, it's in the mid 90s. then we get some relief from the heat. we'll all find some relief along
