dresses to put together and awesome outfits we'll see on social media, i'm sure. but this morning you need a jacket if you are heading out early out the door to run any last-minute errands for the taylor swift concert. san francisco is socked in under fog and a little chillier toward the coast, some of it lingering into parts of the east bay and the north bay at 48 degrees. we'll talk more about where this weekend is heading with our high temperatures, which it's going to be a nice weekend. i'm going to send it to mike, who is already tracking crashes on the road. overnight crash, we don't have any major injuries reported, but there is a crash in the east bay. hayward, 880 and 92. it might still be affecting lanes. i've zoomed into mountain view, not far from shoreline. we're looking at ellis, the off-ramp. there was an earlier crash about an hour and a half ago. reports of sparking live wires because of an electrical box, so just a note for the ellis

off-ramp from south 101. >> thanks, mike. developing this morning, firefighters still aren't saying if they know what sparked a big fire last night in san francisco's sunset district. two people, one of them a firefighter, suffered minor injuries. it started at about 8:30 near 19th and irving near golden gate park, and it took more than two hours before firefighters had it under control. today leaders in oakland will hold a day of action meant to address violence, it's on international boulevard between 82nd and 90th avenues, an area with major crime and safety concerns. >> same concerns, the primary focus of what at times was a chaotic town hall in oakland last night hosted by da pam ra price and the oakland police department. >> i think that she stands for fairness and that's what we support. >> i was pulled out of my car at gunpoint and deposited in the middle of the street. they took my bag, they took

our sentencing structure, and they recommended that we stopped using enhancements the way that we have done it consistently. >> others criticized oakland police, claiming the department is dropping the ball on stopping carjackings and break-ins. police argued oftentimes their hands are tied by policies or budget restraints. another meeting will take place in early september in east oakland. a new indictment for former president donald trump in the case of mishandled classified documents. a special counsel filed new charges against trump yesterday. the new indictment alleges the former president helped delete security video and the investigation into the classified documents stored at his florida estate. the former president's aide, walt nauta, has already been indicted. another trump aide has been added. he allegedly told another employee that the boss wanted the server deleted. >> the only way that indictment

is as detailed in recounting those interactions is if a party to those communications is cooperating. >> trump has pleaded not guilty in the classified documents case against him. a trial has been set for may. now, meanwhile, mr. trump is bracing for a possible third indictment for his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. new this morning, b.a.r.t. is reportedly taking a stand against state lawmakers when it comes to fare jumpers. a bill authored by one southern california assembly member working its way through the legislature would decriminalize jumping on public transit. now they can be charged with misdemeanors and in extreme cases jail time can be considered. supporters argue fare evasion enforcement disproportionately impacts people of color. the "chronicle" reports say it would send a message to officers that they should deemphasize

fare jumping enforcement. the lanterns will making a come back in chinatown. they were badly damaged in the storms last winter. in the last few months, the merchants association collected donation to say pay for new lanterns and as of last night the lights are on display. business owners say the lanterns are a major part of chinatown and help bring in tourists. a heads-up this morning, for anyone thinking they may still try to attend mayor taylor swift's two big concerts after all, here is a live look at levi's where the first of those two shows happens tonight, with a follow-up concert tomorrow. in the next half hour we'll take you there for a live report, but this is the warning. the shows are prompting state attorney general rob bonta to issue a new consumer alert, beware of counterfeit tickets. buying online tickets are unsanctioned sources can leave you high and dry. they recommend always buying

tickets from authorized venders and don't fall for discounted prices, especially if it seems way too good to be true. if you do fall victim to a scam, report it to the state's website. turning to our climate in crisis, the record heat affecting much of the country has gotten so severe the biden administration is taking action. just yesterday president biden announced steps to improve weather forecasts, make drinking water more accessible and to implement a hazard alert system to keep employees safe. with just a few more days to go, the world meteorological association expects this will be the hottest july ever recorded, and scientists say it's because of human-caused climate change. we spoke with nbc news climate reporter lucas thompson about this record-breaking july. >> we're really focusing on the top five hottest julys on record for the globe have only been since 2016, which is a huge

'60s. it turned out the falcon heavy was not ready to go. they'll launch it tonight. the record set by pete conrad and dick gordon back in 1966, who launched 96 minutes apart to meet up in space and dock stands. they were trying to prove docking was possible. mastercard has sent a letter to banks telling them not to let their customers use mastercard branded cards to buy cannabis. it's still not legal on a federal level. mastercard's decision was first reported by bloomberg news. and a company that makes yoga pants and other athleisure clothing for women, sent an email to some customers that understandably made them uneasy. for instance, a woman named sophie got a message that said, hi, sophie, it's your neighbor across the street with the silver car and a little dog. just wanted to let you know everyone can see you when you walk around in your house in

we'll see fog to start and keeping it in san francisco at 66. the immediate bay stays nice and comfortable in some mid to upper 70s, low 80s in dublin. san jose coming in at 79. and the warmer spots are going to be in fairfield through morgan hill with 90s. as we go into tomorrow and your weekend, the temperatures not varying too much as we go into tomorrow. but sunday seems to be the warmest days where we have some of those low 90s returning to the picture, like in concord and through the santa clara valley. what are we watching as we go into next week? we're wrapping up july and keeping an eye as we go into the first couple of days of august with moisture coming through the sierra. we're keeping our eyes on the green, some rain might be coming into parts of tahoe as we track the moisture coming in. otherwise, seven-day forecast in san francisco, breezy and 60s over the next couple of days and inland valleys not too much in the way of deviations with temperatures, overall a nice,

just to buy taylor swift t-shirts and other merchandise from the truck parked out front. tickets for the concerts have been selling on secondary markets for hundreds and thousands of dollars over face value. we spoke with fans who don't have tickets, but they still are going to try to show up outside the venue, even though levi's says standing outside the stadium on stadium property will not be allowed. >> i'm going to be here for sure, yeah. >> every single way, every social media aspect, i mean, every single group or whatever, trying to figure out how people are going to do it. >> reporter: now, santa clara police will be shutting down the drive in front of levi's starting at 9:30 this morning and we're told that fans would not be allowed to loiter around the stadium. no tailgating will be allowed on site once the parking lots open at around 2:00 p.m.

there is a hotel that has set up a tailgate area in its parking lot. fans we spoke with say those without tickets are planning to meet across the street from the stadium. they'll be setting up there since they will not be allowed on stadium property. if you are trying to get to the concert, you probably already know this, public transportation is going to be your best bet, b.a.r.t., vta, caltrain, and you are obviously going to be driving in, just understand that traffic on 101, 880, 237, what else is down here, san tomas, all these roads, great america parkway, it's going to be really bad. the santa clara police department are expecting that to get bad at around 1:00 this afternoon. >> wow. >> the concert is not until 6:30. this is good information for anyone not coming to the concert. if you have business down here, just keep in mind, treat this like the super bowl. >> i have heard people concerned, they have to take their kids to pt or something like that, and maybe you should reschedule.

and a trial date has never been set. chilling new details emerging about a deadly stabbing wednesday on the peninsula. investigators say the suspect streamed his victim's final moments on social media. the stabbing happened at the victim's home at hillsdale garden apartments in san mateo. several hours later, officers arrested the suspect, 39-year-old mark mechikoff, in san jose. one of the victim's neighbors say officers initially went door to door trying to find him. >> we haven't found him yet, we're still looking for him. it was very scary, yeah. >> you didn't know if he was behind your home? >> exactly. i didn't know if he was hiding, if he was going to come knocking on my door next. >> investigators believe this is a case of domestic violence and ono sheideoeamingvada was the on facebook and contacted bay area authorities. new developments this morning, in a decades-old disappearance in fairfield.

investigators are now looking at possible links to a recently arrested former pastor. 4-year-old amanda campbell vanished in 1991 on her way to a friend's house. authorities always believed she may have been abducted. now they're taking a closer look at david zandstra. this week authorities charged him in connection with a kidnapping and murder of an 8-year-old girl in philadelphia back in 1975. starting in 1990, the year before amanda vanished, he served as pastor at the fairfield christian reform church where he served for 15 years. fairfield police do say at this point there is no information pointing to a connection. and t. swift is hardly the only game in town. also happening this weekend, some music lovers will flock to the north bay for napa's blue note jazz festival. this year the festival celebrates the 50th anniversary of hip hop. comedian dave chappelle will host and headliners include mary
