highway 101 is fully open tonight. in the last hour, caltrans reopened the southbound lanes which were expected to be shut down until tomorrow morning. forget about that, they are open. the road shutdown took place on friday night with crews replacing a bridge built in the 30s. caltrans says a similar closure of northbound lanes was scheduled for two weekends. the weekend closures helped crews build a new bridge in a shorter amount of time instead of a three-year period. a saturday night sideshow drawing massive crowds. this is the view taken around 1:00 a.m. in oakland. that is at high street, you can see that group vandalizing an ambulance during the sideshow. some people standing on it. police say there were no patients in the emergency vehicle, and the crowd dispersed as officers arrived, no arrests were made. cameras follow the sideshow to south vallejo where it took over lemon street for about half an hour. then around 3:30 this morning, the sideshow slipped into lewis

brown drive at broadway and ew williams drive. one car caught fire. no word on any arrest. a man is in the hospital after being shot by police in antioch. this happened just after 7:30 this morning in the ronald reagan state building. officers were investigators a suspicious vehicle when they found a man inside with a gun. police say the man tried to drive away but was stopped. he grabbed the gun and ran away. officers caught up with them and that is when shots were fired. aromatics took him to the hospital. he is expected to be okay. no officers were hurt. detectives say the man also had a warrant for a homicide that happened earlier this year in antioch. officers involved are on routine paid leave. a violent morning in san francisco. a man is facing charges after police say he attacked one person in step three others. it started at 7:45 when the man attacked someone near market and battery streets.

police say he stabbed three people near fourth and market. officers arrested the man at the scene. all the victims are expected to be okay, no word on what led to those attacks. in early morning house fire broke out before 7:00 a.m. inside a home on lillian street and crockett. police say the bottom story of the home was fully engulfed when they arrived. they quickly put out the fire, and found a body inside. the name of the person has not yet been released. tonight, former president trump antifraud trial. sources tell nbc news. the judge determined he lied about how much his business was worth in this trial could determine if he loses control over some of his most famous properties. george sullivan has the details. >> actually much lower than the net worth. your fake attorney general of new york --

>> reporter: today, former president trump not directly addressing the start of his civil fraud trial tomorrow. according to sources, jump is expected to be in the courtroom for the next two days. the judge ruling that he committed real estate fraud for years. writing of the legal documents defending these cases are a fantasy world, adding that, quote, it can only be considered fraud. the trial is expected to determine the future of the trump organization, including a real estate empire, as well as any fines for the alleged fraud. >> reporter: what are the indications of this trial? >> if he loses, and the reason why he is a fairly coming here tomorrow is because he does not want to lose. if he has to pay $250 million, if he and his sons can no longer conduct business in new york, that is a fatal blow. >> reporter: mr. trump has denied all wrongdoing and is

dirty and acceptable is how police officers are describing lactation areas at multiple stations in san francisco. >> for the first time they are speaking up against the department's policy for nursing mothers and are demanding change. ginger has been digging into the story for weeks and shows us why the officers say sf pd could be violating state law. >> reporter: these images are from a police station in san francisco where officers who are new mothers have been nursing for years. one shows a lactation station inside a bathroom steps away from the toilet. the officers took these pictures to show what they say is an

often traumatic return to work. is always with the client about what happened. >> reporter: she is a san francisco police officer, concerned that if she shows her face when she talks about conditions for nursing mothers in the department, she could face retaliation. >> just, the environment i was in. it was a really stressful. >> reporter: she is not alone. i spoke with three different officers. who work at different police stations about what they say they faced on return from maternity leave. when asked where they could pump rest milk, they say they were directed to a locker room or a coworker's office. >> it is like a culture of, if we ignore it, -- i resorted to using the space of the woman before me had used, and that was in the women's restroom, in

a stall with closed door inside the women's locker room. five feet away from the toilet. >> reporter: here is a picture of what she is talking about, taken recently at the sf pd central-station. >> it's dirty and small and cramped and uncomfortable. >> reporter: she says new moms have opted to come here because there is no other accessible option that gives them privacy. >> it was disgusting. i felt bad, because i'm trying to make food for my baby, and i'm right next to the toilet, it made me feel bad, like i wasn't a good mom. like i wasn't doing my best to protect my baby and that definitely affected by mental health. >> reporter: others compromised privacy for a cleaner space. >> others pump in the locker room, where i was walked in on

multiple times. they didn't do it on purpose, there's just no -- everyone has the code. >> reporter: a cleaner space, even in office, was not necessarily the right solution. >> much better than pumping next to a toilet, it was still a challenge of itself. >> reporter: like constantly requesting to use someone's office, sometimes a supervisor. >> definitely affected my ability to produce milk. along with the other issues that come with not being able to pump on a regular schedule or as often as i normally would. >> reporter: both u.s. and state laws require employers with the employees to provide adequate lactation areas for nursing mothers. federal labor law states that must be a place, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view and intrusions, for the employee to express milk read

the requirements go further, including, the location must have a place to sit, a surface to place a breast pump, and a refrigerator or other cooling device to store milk. i reached out to sf pd who said there are presented was not available to answer questions in person. instead they sent us the statement, saying, the sf pd is committed to providing private space to lactation at the workplace for our members. they go on to say, some locations like police headquarters have more availability to dedicate a permanent room that can be used solely for lactation. other locations, such as are smaller and older district stations have limited space. at locations where we cannot provide permanent dedicated space, we will make reasonable efforts to offer alternative rearrangements. >> i put forth an offer, saying you know what, the poa will graciously buy one of these lactation pods and put it wherever you need it didn't

hear anything back. >> reporter: lieutenant mcrae is president of the san francisco police officers association. she says the department has ignored the issue for too long. >> we have locker rooms where you are setting up next to a toilet to lactate. that is disgusting. that is total bs. >> reporter: sf pd also directed me to the department's existing lactation policy which says, import, employees have the right to request lactation accommodation. that policy is dated july 29th, 2021 and is effective for two years, meaning the policy would have expired a couple of months ago. the department also says, as for the officers concerns about retaliation for speaking out, sf pd says, the sf pd is committed to providing a supportive environment for breast-feeding employees. anyone who feels they may be subject to workplace dissemination or harassment can make a formal complaint, which we investigate thoroughly.

>> reporter: sf pd says they have not received any formal complaints about lactation options, but their statement also made no mention of reviewing the current situation to see if it needs to make any changes. nbc bay area news. the san jose man accused of killing his mother with sentinel is due in court tomorrow. 40-year-old bradley robert dexter is said to be charged tomorrow afternoon. he was supposed to be arraigned last month but refused to leave the jail cell. rustica to say dexter admitted to lacing his mother's drink with sentinel back in june. he is facing charges of homicide, poisoning, and two counts of elder abuse as well as a violent attack on his father. today marks exactly 30 years since one of the most gutwrenching crimes in bay area history, the kidnapping and murder of paul the class. if you were in the area at the time, you remember this. parents hosted a gathering in mill valley for family and friends.

cofounded by doctors padilla and galvez. they are at the stanford medical campus. the conversation centered on raising awareness about the current number of latino and latina positions in the u.s. they say that number hovers around 6%. >> it hasn't changed in the last 15 years. the united states is 19% latino california is 40% latino, projected to be 15%. how can 6% of positions serve that patient population, when language and culture becomes so important. when you have a position workforce that is not reflective of the population, it leads to worse healthcare outcomes. when you have an interesting language, you are more likely to need medication. it is critical to highlight this. >> reporter: there holding

fog. >> right now, we are seeing this fall -like pattern with a chilly dry air. breezy conditions, snow around portions around 8000 feet, but the seven-day forecast will ut take us more towards summerlike temperatures into the middle part of the week. we will show you how quickly things warm-up around the bay area in a moment. right now, a look at san francisco. out to the west, 56 degrees right now. patchy low cloud across the bay for the morning, still hanging onto low 60s around the tri- valley, probably won't be waking up too much in the way of low clouds from the next couple of mornings. there is the view of san jose with the moon out there. that extralight there is jupiter, tonight. no fog blocking the view east of san jose. we are at 52 degrees and in terms of temperature here, the weekend staying on the mild pattern, we still manage low

80s inland, today. we will easily eclipsed the cooler daytime highs, wednesday through saturday. bayside temperatures in the 80s, and even the coast could see the warmest temperatures of the year, especially by thursday and friday. we will have to watch the hills as high-pressure built in. sometimes we get those north wind, and by tomorrow morning, napa county and inland towards solano county, we will see dry breezes pick up from 10 to 20 miles per hour. notice the lack of low clouds inland. we move this marine influence on our weather, through the middle part of the week. tomorrow, without the wind, windchill and valley near santa rosa will start off in the 40s. mid-50s elsewhere. dress in layers, because we will see a 40 degrees swing in those temperatures from morning to mid afternoon. highs tomorrow, upper 70s and low 80s closer to the averages

our sister station held a telemundo event in redwood city today. that wasn't soccer going on there, i saw some foosball. the free event included a tournament, music, food, atrophy, all kinds of going on there. this is fun to watch. simon biles has made history once again. check out what she did at the world championship qualifying day. in her first international meet since the tokyo olympic's, she performed that right there. the double pike on vault. she became the first woman to land it internationally, so by rule is named after her. there are now five biles elements in the gymnastics code across vault, floor, and being. she is unstoppable. the u.s. men punched a ticket to paris, finishing second at the world qualifying. two of the men representing team usa at world are from

rep isn't thousands of nursing home and home care workers. it is also the largest woman -- union and call for new. she resigned from her appointment in 2021. butler will become the first openly gay u.s. senator from california. she is expected to be sworn in as early as this week. butler will serve until the next senator is elected and sworn in after the november 2024 election. the clock is ticking once again on capitol hill. yesterday, lawmakers passed the last minute billed to keep the government open, but only for another 45 days. house speaker kevin mccarthy originally wanted to pass the measure was only republican support, but, in fighting forced him to work with democrats. the deal does not include spending cuts or changes to

are being levied at the diocese of oakland tonight, including a priest charged with child sexual abuse. -- upset over a priest accused of abusing a child in the past. larry young detailed sexual abuse in 1985. the instigation cleared young of any wrongdoing. activists want to know why the diocese of oakland did not suspend young until after the case was concluded. michael barber has defended his decision claiming an internal investigation did not find the accusation credible, but the details did not add up. >> at the same time, the diocese says that no contact was made with the alleged victim, which i find totally -- i can't get my head around it. that is so unfair to the victim and slanted towards the priest, which is the church's mode. >> bishop barber released a

are missing. >> emergency crews are still searching for the wreckage. the cause of the fire is under investigation. don't let the bedbugs bite. more than a euphemism in paris these days. that city is dealing with a widespread infestation that has the mere warning, no one is safe. bedbugs have been cited on subways, buses, and even at the airport. this is stoking fears the bugs will take a bite out of the olympic next year. the 2024 games are less than a year away. city leaders are calling for coordinated efforts to deal with those big bedbugs. promising signs for a better future for people with epilepsy. the condition affects millions of people around the world. doctors are testing a first of its kind therapy using stem cells that are injected directly into the brain. they say seizures happen when parts of the brain get too excited and start firing uncontrollably. the stem cells work to calm the brain by producing a

>> speaking of, as we get into november, temperatures usually cool down, october, we are in the fall, now. wait until you see the seven day forecast. we are rewinding back to summerlike temperatures. and along the coast in san francisco, possibly the warmest temperatures of the year. right now, not bad, san jose at 62 degrees but you can see mostly clear skies. 65 in walnut creek. still a bit of fog pouring across the golden gate bridge, around the interbay through the morning, 56 degrees, currently. off to the east, a sign of the changing seasons around the sierra. we will look at that on the radar coming up. right now, mostly 50s inland tomorrow. windchill and valleys in the north bay, chances of waking up to the upper 40s. that is the change i am talking about. as you have been watching the mammoth mountain webcam today all the way down to 8000 feet, we are seeing snow showers at times.

winter weather advisory for tonight and some chilly temperatures setting up around the southern sierra. as that weather system departs, high-pressure building tomorrow, leading to the forming changes you are seeing right there in the seven day forecast at the bottom of your screen. he will wake up to 40s and 50s around the morning, then as quickly as lunch time, numbers rebound into the 70s. tomorrow, upper 70s and low 80s inland around concord, 81 degrees. 77 in san jose. 69 in san francisco. i realize that does not look like a warm-up. watch what happens tuesday and wednesday. now 70s from sentences go to oakland. 82 in san jose. in linda seeing some upper 80s but the real warm-up begins wednesday and thursday. bayside temperatures, sentences go to oakland in the 80s. 87 in san jose, low 90s inland. by thursday, the warm-up is complete, with 80s all the way down the coast including half moon bay. oakland should see middle to upper 80s.

hamlin was back on the field today. >> back in january, hamlin suffered cardiac arrest during the game in miami. the 25-year-old trained for months to get back into playing shape. for the first time this season he took to the field facing off against the miami dolphins. hamlin says he is thrilled to return to the sport he loves. >> being able to be out there with my teammates, you know, i had my family in the stands, you know, everybody on the team is giving me confidence, positive energy, everything, all week long. getting out there and playing with everybody again felt amazing. >> on top of all of that, the bills beat the dolphins 48-20. before we go, summerlike weather? >> it is an abrupt change in the forecast. san francisco will see 80s in the valleys, 80s and 90s through friday and then some
