are dead and 50 more are injured. some of the injuries happened in the rush to escape the danger. we don't have any details about the ages of the victims. >> police released this photo of a person of interest named robert card. photos from a bowling alley, one of the shooting scenes, were released. a law enforcement bulletin said card recently reported mental health issues >> officials released this photo of card, linked to the shooting spree. people are urged to shelter in place as the urgent search continues. there are state and local authorities on the scene. let's turn to capitol hill. it has been three weeks, but the house speaker drama is finally over. republicans were able to rally around their fourth nominee. louisiana's mike johnson, who will preside over the chamber.

in trouble in a new york city court, storming out of the room after a long day in which he briefly took the stand to explain remarks he had made to reporters. mr. trump had said the person signature next to the judge was quote very partisan. the former president explained to the judge he'd meant witness michael cohen, but judge arthur engoron rejected that claim as not credible, fining mr. trump $10,000 for violating his gag order. according to witnesses, his sudden departure surprised both his lawyers and secret service agent, although mr. trump did return eventually. the middle east is on the brink of the death toll rising, as it keeps rising in gaza, and the idea of cease-fire is rejected out of hand by both israel and the united states. president biden called for israel to spare civilians while at the same time casting doubt on the skyrocketing palestinian death toll. here's richard engel. >> reporter: the middle east is on the edge of disaster. gaza is being flattened,

extremist settlers in the west bank attacking palestinians and called for a return to the peace process based oonn a two-state solution. the suspect in the shooting of two nashville cops has died from a self-inflicted gunshot. that's according to state investigators. 38-year-old john drake jr., the estranged son of the nashville police chief who had appealed to him to give himself up. he shot and wounded two police officers. drake junior apparently shot himself after authorities were closing in on him tuesday evening. mexico is still assessing the damage after being caught off guard by hurricane otis. all communications were knocked out in aukcapulco after the category 5 storm slam nmed into the area.

>> reporter: making landfall as the most powerful storm to rake across mexico's pacific coast as a category 5 hurricane, otis tore through acapulco, battering the resort town popular with americans. a dangerous combination of whipping winds and relentless rain severed communications in the beach side city. [speaking in a global language] all communications have been lost, says mexico's president. the storm has atypical behavior. in just 24 hours, a tropical storm with 50 mile per hour winds explosively intensified into a cat 5, packing 165 mile per hour winds and 26,000 lightning strikes, with an increase in rapidly-intensifying storms often linked to climate change, the hurricane caught most by surprise.
