usic playing] ashley roberts: playing dress up is
3:03 am
a standard part of childhood. but the fun doesn't have to stop once you become a grownup. woo! let's go. ashley roberts: so tonight i will be unmasking-- guaco caliente is going to tear you apart. ashley roberts: some totally banging-- looks. - you ready to rock it? let's do this! ashley roberts: and bringing to light-- well, well, well, well, well, well, well. ashley roberts: some truly awesome fashions. oh my god! wow. ashley roberts: we're dressing up. next, on 1st look. [music playing: opening theme] ashley roberts: it's fierce, it's flamboyant, and it's fabulously fluorescent. i'm talking about lucha vavoom. a pimped up version of one of mexico's most raucous and dramatic sporting events, lucha libre.
3:04 am
announcer: aw, [inaudible] going down. ashley roberts: and the woman responsible for giving the lucha its vavoom is co-founder and producer rita dialbert. what is lucha libre. and it's mexican masked wrestling. it's so much more fun than american style wrestling. they fly and flip, it's super acrobatic. it's really funny, it's really entertaining. fast paced. a lot going on here. bright colors. ashley roberts: what's lucha vavoom? rita dialbert: we took lucha libre and we threw in the girls, and that's the vavoom. we'll kick it off with an aerial act or a dancer. there is tequila being served. and also during the matches we have these really top notch comedians do commentary over the wrestling. so lucha vavoom just became its own thing. it's so funny and bright and happy, you can't help but fall in love with it. ashley roberts: but this board is just as much about the wardrobe as it is the warriors. and in a matter of hours, i will be undergoing the ultimate transformation from lady to luchadore, as i prepare to take to the ring
3:05 am
against the notorious magno! ashley roberts: butler before the spandex, comes the schooling. first of all, we're going to teach you how to get into the ring. whoa! jump over the ropes. i thought you were going to like go through one of these little guys. no, no, no, no. you gotta do a little fancy. that's not bad. just dip under here. push. it's kind of like a crawl like. much simpler. that felt good to me. so second of all, you've got to learn how to walk in the ring. be strong. walk tough. and then show your opponent you're not afraid of them. so walking in. [inaudible] leg [inaudible]. a little arm action. you've got to be ready. i was going to ninja kick you, though. am i allowed a ninja kick? you can do everything. that's why it's called lucha libre, which is wrestling free. freestyle. ah. this move is very popular in lucha libre, and it's very painful and effective. it's called the chop.
3:06 am
get a very loud sound. very painful if it's executed correctly. so. - why me? go ahead. - you just want me to smack you? - go for it. try it. you won't hurt me. what do you think? it had a nice sound to it. what about this? sneak attack! arrgh! you're down! you're down! that was pretty good. the way you wrestle is very dependent on your character. so if you are a tecnico, it means you're technical. reverse. if you you're a rudo, maybe i can't out wrestle you, but i will cheat. i'll grab your hair to release the hold. stomp your foot. that's rudo. - rudo. - bad guy. - that's the bad guy. tecnico is the good guy. how important is the costume to your character? it's the most important part of your career, because the costume identifies the person that's behind it. like my name's magnus. something big, something magnificent. without the mask i'm just a normal person. so are you allowed to take your mask off? - no. - never. it is the ultimate disrespect. you want to keep your mask and your identity at all costs. the great alsanto was buried in his mask.
3:07 am
my gosh, that's amazing. do you want to be buried in your mask? i'll decide that later. after i die. ashley roberts: with the mask being key to this sport, let the transformation begin. ooh, what's this? this one is super hot with flames. a little flamage action. i'm kind of into that. and it's got spaces for your pigtails, to come out the top, so it's cute. maybe i'll take some of this. a little belt action. i'll be back. [growl] what do you think? so hot. i love it, the flames. yes. perfect. so what is your character called? yeah, i'm liking the fiercest, flamage. and i love guacamole. me too. so i'm kind of thinking, guaco caliente.
3:08 am
i love it. it's perfect. yes. all right, guaco caliente i think you're ready to go show those guys how it's done. i think i am, honey. adios, chicolita. go get 'em. announcer: [speaking spanish] welcome to lucha vavoom. in this corner, magno! and in this corner, the super spicy guaco caliente. now you have a mask. you think you got this? guaco caliente is going to tear you apart. [bell] crowd: guaco! guaco! guaco! guaco! guaco! guaco!
3:09 am
ashley roberts: i've worn a lot of costumes in my day. this is checking a different box, for sure. huh! yes, i am guaco caliente. coming up, this drumming business beats me. hi. [inaudible] ooh! [inaudible] detect this: living with hiv, i learned that i can stay undetectable with fewer medicines. that's why i switched to dovato. dovato is a complete hiv treatment for some adults. no other complete hiv pill uses fewer medicines to help keep you undetectable than dovato. detect this: most hiv pills contain 3 or 4 medicines. dovato is as effective with just 2.
3:10 am
if you have hepatitis b, don't stop dovato without talking to your doctor. don't take dovato if you're allergic to its ingredients or taking dofetilide. this can cause serious or life-threatening side effects. if you have a rash or allergic reaction symptoms, stop dovato and get medical help right away. serious or life-threatening lactic acid buildup and liver problems can occur. tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or considering pregnancy. dovato may harm an unborn baby. most common side effects are headache, nausea, diarrhea, trouble sleeping, tiredness, and anxiety. detect this: i stay undetectable with fewer medicines. ask your doctor about switching to dovato. at first, i used better than bouillon for broth. with fewer medicines. and then stir fry... sauces... even marinades! and now there's the culinary collection! italian herb for pasta... smoky chipotle for fajitas... it's like the deliciousness never ends! make everything better with better than bouillon! ♪ on your period, sudden gushes happen. say goodbye gush fears! thanks to always ultra thins...
