sam bankman-fried was back on the stand monday, facing tough examination from prosecutors, who would like to send him to prison for decades for, they say, ripping off investors, with his cryptocurrency company ftx. now, this is a federal trial, so there are no cameras, but there are artists in this courtroom sketching him. many on social media have said, a lot of those pictures are really quite flattering to bankman-fried. the trial has not been going well for the defense. testifying in his own defense is seen by many as a last-minute attempt to turn things around. a company called e-hang just became the first to get a permit to fly an air taxi with passengers in china, fully autonomous. you just choose your destination on a touch screen. if you grew up with the jetsens, you've been waiting for air taxis. this week on sand hill road we talk to the lead investor for boeing, the person who takes boeing's money and finds

warm. temperatures are going to drop very quickly as we go through the evening. so a lot of decisions the parents are having to make today. so let's get started with a look at going to work this morning, and a look at that bay bridge. it is all clear, really the weather is kind of the least of your worries today. it's going to be really nice as we go throughout the day. but it does start out chilly, so as they're starting out for school and maybe they have one of those costume parades going on throughout the school day, we are going to have a cool morning. but then it does warm up nicely. look at the temperatures that we're seeing in parts of the north bay, upper 30s right now, we're in the mid-40s in san francisco, and it is 49 in san jose. and then as we take a look at our evening forecast, we reach up to 75 in dublin, but then as soon as the sun sets, we see those temperatures start to drop, and that's going to be shortly after 6:00. and then we're in the low 60s here at 7:00, and then at 8:00 it's only 57 degrees.
5:21 am
so a big warm-up, a big cooldown, and we'll see those high temperatures throughout the middle of the day, the most comfortable reaching into the mid to upper 70s. it's about the same tomorrow, in fact, as we go toward thursday there's not much of a change in our temperatures as we continue to enjoy these cool mornings and mild afternoons. so when are we going to get some rain? take a look at what to expect as we go toward the weekend. we start to see showers approaching into the north bay. by late friday evening into saturday, it looks like it's mostly in the north bay until saturday night and into sunday morning. we are going to see a couple of spotty showers moving through, it doesn't look like it's going to be raining all weekend, but we will have to watch the skies for wet weather as our temperatures come down. a look at walnut creek, we're going from highs in the upper 70s to upper 60s on sunday, and that's with clouds and that chance of rain. then looking at the extended forecast, we are going to see for our inland areas temperatures warm for now, but it will be cooler as we go
5:22 am
toward the weekend into early next week. mike, i know it's early, but things seem pretty calm in the traffic world. >> we don't want to over-generalize because it's very calm, a little build out of the altamont pass. we're going to show you the green sensors around the bay. we look at the travel times out of contra costa county and alameda counties, highway 4, an easy drive out of antioch. we should see some slowing into pittsburg and bay point in the next few minutes. vasco road still basically at speed, a little more volume and slowing as you're getting toward 580. 580 itself, once you pass grant line road, you're still at speed toward the dublin interchange. the bay bridge, the traffic flow is really nice. we should see some more slowing in about 20 minutes. and no problem across the golden gate bridge. we still have the southbound side, those traffic breaks should be just about over from the overnight crews. back to you. >> thanks, mike. 5:22 right now. next on "today in the bay," nbc bay area responds. >> her fridge is cold, but the

skittles, sweet tarts and whoppers. so very, very concerning. we don't believe they're actually targeting children. however, if a child were to come across that and start ingesting tablets, that would be bad news. >> several police departments told us inspect all candy before you eat it, if you think your kids want to snack, bring some candy from home that you know is safe. when in doubt, throw it out. and make sure your kids are visible. kids are more at risk of being hit by a car on halloween than getting drug-laced candy. so the data shows that most children who are getting sick from eating edibles or coming into contact, they're finding that in the home. so 7,000 children between 2017 and 2021, 90% of them found that at home. >> scary. >> so if you have it, you're using it, it's legal. just make sure it's put away.
