breaking overnight, the actors actors union is finally getting its hollywood ending. sag aftra reached a tentative deal on a new contract with top studios late last night, ending the longest strike in the union's history. the union said the deal is valued at over $1 billion. the agreement includes the largest increase to minimum wages in the last 40 years, along with new residual programming for streaming and protections f protections against the universe artificial intelligence. now to the latest chapter in the trials of donald trump. the former president's daughter ivanka became the latest of his children to take the witness stand. testifying in the new york civil trial against her family. her brothers and father are trying to fight off a major civil penalty for artificially inflating their assets to get

the murdaugh murder trial gets another day in court. alex murdaugh's legal team asked for a new trial and new judge last month, claiming the clerk are the court pressured the jury to find murdaugh guilty. that clerk says none of it is true. now a trial court will weigh in on all of it. sam brock reports. >> verdict, guilty. >> reporter: the six-week trial that captured the nation's attention and ended with alex murdaugh convicted of murdering his wife maggie and son paul will not see a new trial or new judge if south carolina state prosecutors have their way n a blistering response to the murdaugh team's allegations, becky hill tampered with the jury, she issued her own

statement. she said i did not instruct the jury to watch him closely. i did not instruct the jury to look at his actions. murdaugh's attorneys declined to comment on the latest legal response but had this to say in september. >> we never considered the likelihood as reported to us by the jurors that the clerk of court would go in to the sanctity of the jury room before he testified and tell the jurors, don't be fooled by his body language. >> reporter: in swatting down the claims, the remarks say, never does the haw permit highly-motivated convicts to put their own jury on trial. one juror said i was not coerced to give my verdict. i came to the decision on my own free will. and the other, the only time i had interaction with anyone was through a bailiff other than one time when a comment was made to

journey home to china, marking the end of an era in d.c. amy cho shows us the sendoff. >> reporter: it's almost as if the d.c. pandas know just how much we'll miss them. here's one of them peeking out right on cue to say good-bye, as they boarded their long flight back to china. we've known this day was coming, but at that didn't make it any easier. so many of us have watched them grow up over the years. that includes smithsonian national zoo director brandy smith. >> i've been taking a lot of time this week to say good-bye on my own. but today, all i am is proud. i'm proud of our team. i'm proud of our pandas, it's been a very successful day as they head home to china. >> reporter: fedexing three pandas halfway around world is no easy feat. their journey started at the national zoo, where the pandas

left their habitats for the last time. they got into their travel crates. they've practiced getting into the crates for months now so they would feel right at home. then the pandas got a special convoy as they headed to dulles international airport. we spoke to one young panda fan who says his mom let him skip school to witness history. >> i only got to know them for a little bit. but it is sad. >> reporter: each crate was carefully loaded into the back of the plane. it's a special fedex plane named the panda express that will fly 19 hours to china with a quick stop for fuel in alaska. the pandas will have plenty of snacks along the way. the plane is loaded with several hundred pounds of bamboo. at the helm is the pilot. what is your favorite part? >> just the fact that i get to be part of the panda shipment. it's a true honor. we take great pride in flying these loveable bears back to
