alarming threats this morning against election workers. federal authorities say suspicious letters were mailed to election officer in at least four states. georgia, oregon, california and washington. at least one tested positive for fentanyl. they're working to trace where the letters came from. in san francisco, the trial is under way for the man accused of beating nancy pelosi's husband with a hammer in a home invasion a little over a year ago. david depape was caught on miss body cam during the brutal assault. his attorneys are mostly trying to limit the damage. the trial is expected to last about a week, and we expect paul pelosi to testify as early as monday. the uk is investigating what could have been a major disaster. a bulletin was issued last week regarding an airbus a-321 that departed on october 4th.

several windows were damaged or missing due to high-powered lights used during a filming event, but it was not noticed. it returned after crew members realized the issue. three people are in custody after a u-haul van led police on a chase across miami-dade county. eventually, troopers were able to use pit maneuvers to send the van into a side wall and quickly arrest the suspects. no one was injured. turning now to the weekend forecast, and you might want to take a second look at your plans, because rain and cold temperatures are in store for much of the country. angie lassman has her eye on when and where that's going to fall. >> we can't really complain about the chilly temperatures when we were dealing with spring and summer-like temperatures into the south and central plains for the past couple days. that all comes to an end of course. and you can see the cooler air settling in and more seasonal
