al shifa as plans to evacuate patients are seemingly going nowhere. the gazan health ministry says 32 patients have died at the hospital in the last three days from lack of care. three premature babies among them let's go live to chapman bell who's following developments break down why hospitals are such hot spots in this conflict. >> reporter: good morning, frances and phillip. yeah, israeli's defense forces releasing an edited video they say shows proof that hamas is using hospitals to store weapons, including bombs, grenades, rocket-propelled grenades and other munitions and are connected to that vast tunnel network that runs beneath the gaza strip, that vast tunnel network, and also they say they found evidence that hostages had been held at one particular hospital they also released video they say shows a militant with a rpg.

but they say it shows proof that militants are using these hospitals as places to hide and places to store weapons. but this all happens as the hospital and health care system in the gaza strip is collapsing. doctors with borders, a surgeon there estimates that 600 people in gaza need treatment in intensive care units and are not getting that, as the power failures continue. lack of fuel we've seen doctors having to operate with, with flashlights from, from mobile phones to treat the wounded in these places and also children suffering. a neo-natal unit, children suffering, lack of equipment there really affecting them. president biden has said that hospitals must be protected. though israel saying, well, they
