big part of the south bay community. in fact, a big part of the community for 31 years. and tonight the sap center is hosting its 5,000th event. and let's take a look at some of the history here. the sap center first opened its doors back 31 years ago, and in that time they've hosted 50 million visitors through for all different kinds of events. the 20 there's $20 million in annual tax revenue and that's just from the sharks, not from any of the other events that happened here. now the sharks are negotiating their ten year contract. so we're hoping that this will be a continuation of the tradition. they are promising another. $101.25 billion in economic impact over just the next five years. and of course, hockey is not the only thing that happens here at the sap center. you might remember we were here last year for the us gymnastics. we saw simone biles suni lee competing before they headed off to the olympics. u.s. figure skating. they were here for

their championships ncaa basketball a few years ago, atp tennis tournaments. and there are lots of events that are coming up as well. we have jamie hammett here who is the vice president of events and booking and what a thing to be part of 31 years of history. yeah, i know, so it's a great job i love it. it's i can't kind of pinch myself every time i come to work because we have so many great events here and there are so many venues that, you know, all around the bay area. but it's remarkable that this one is the one that kind of stands out. you see it when you drive by, and you know that there are just so many different kinds of things that happen here. yeah, absolutely. you know, the rolling stones, u2, some of the bigger bands have always played here over our 31 year history. we take a lot of pride in the building. the city hired our management group to run it, and we constantly invest in it to make sure we're state of the art. one of my favorite things that happens here at the sap center, eighth grade commencements. you guys host those for san jose unified every year, too. absolutely. so we work with the arena authority to

do civic events like that. and so anytime we have that, we, you know, 365 days in a year. and if we believe the rolling stones can move in and out of the building in 24 hours, so can everybody else. you can move 20,000,008th graders through with their families. that's right. i think it's really super cool that the 5,000th event happens to be the same event. that was the very first event. no, it really is. we have a great partnership with feld entertainment and they do disney on ice and the circus, and they did jurassic world last summer. they did the marvel themed show. so yeah. so the 5,000th event is the ringling, ringling brothers, barnum and bailey greatest show on earth. this is the reimagined version of the circus. they're going to have six shows over the next three days, so come on out and celebrate and you'll see some of the commemorative 5000 graphics around. and just maybe take a trip down memory lane and think about all the things that you've done here in the south

week. let's talk about our air quality, because that was an issue yesterday and the day before it was unhealthy. but we're seeing a lot more of the good air quality for today. that means you can spend more time outside. it will be moderate for the east bay and santa clara valley, and as we go throughout the afternoon, you may notice that as you look in the distance, it does look very hazy. so we're seeing our highs headed back to the upper 90s for concord. but yesterday it was 101. so we're making some progress here. and in san jose it will be in the upper 80s fremont 86. about the same in mountain view. and 77 in san mateo. 93 today in santa rosa. tomorrow we'll bring it down even more. some spots, the temperatures drop about ten degrees, so there will be a significant cooldown that continues into sunday as well. and next week we're seeing some of our warmer temperatures in the mid 80s, and san francisco is coming back to the 60s. there will be more clouds and fog. i do think that we won't see as much sunshine, but still pretty
