their strategies. this is today in the bay. and a good monday morning. i'm ginger conejero saab filling in for marcus washington. and i'm laura garcia. we'll check that morning commute with mike. it is monday after all. and we're hoping for a nice week weather wise. yeah it's going to be a little bit cooler over the next few days. we're still dealing with some valley heat today. and as we take a look at san francisco, this is where temperatures stay nice and mild. we do have some fog draped over the golden gate bridge, and we will see it eventually clearing out. so as you're heading out in oakland, a cloudy start this morning. temperatures in the mid to upper 50s and then at 9:00 we're at 61 degrees. a cool morning where we do need a jacket for at least the early part of the day, but we're headed for the mid seconds so it will be nice and comfortable later on. today in san jose we're going to see a high of 82, but 91 in morgan hill and san martin, as well as livermore and concord, and will be in the mid to upper 90s for

parts of the north bay. we will be talking more about that cooldown coming up in just a few minutes. but mike, you have another update for sunnyvale. yeah, we just told you about the alternate for a southbound 101 to eastbound 2.37. sounds like that transition ramp just opened after we did that last report. so good news for sunnyvale out of mountain view, folks going southbound that's counter commute. northbound is your commute. and we still see that slower drive that kicked in at about 5.40. so we're about the time where things start to lighten up. but no, there's still some more traffic up here by trimble dela cruz as 87 and 101 merge just north of the airport, the rest of the bay shows a smooth flow of traffic. nothing unexpected. the backup does reach the bay bridge toll plaza. back to you. thanks a lo, mike. now we are following breaking news overnight and new details on a police shooting in san jose involving a gunman that police say was firing at bystanders. here's a live look at the scene. now, this happened last night outside a 7-eleven on center road. you can see from
6:03 am
this map it's south of hellyer avenue. police say officers responded at about 9:30 p.m. to reports of a man shooting a gun at least one person is believed to have been shot. they were brought to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries. officers say the gunman was still armed when they shot him. he suffered life threatening injuries as well. our thom jensen is following developments. he'll have a live report in our next half hour. meantime, police in san francisco are searching for a suspect after two people and a dog were shot in the city. police say the shooting happened just after four yesterday afternoon. video posted on citizen app shows the scene near the corner of willow and polk streets in the tenderloin. officers found two people and a dog. all had been shot. medics were called to the scene and the victims were taken to the hospital. there is no word on how they're doing or what led up to that shooting. two decision 2024 in just about 36 hours from

now. a highly anticipated debate that has the potential to upend the race for president. it is the showdown between vice president kamala harris and former president donald trump, and it may be the only debate in the run up to the election. today, in the bay's barry jackson joins us live in washington. she's tracking it all for us. so how do we know or how have the candidates? i should say, rather, how have they been preparing? hi there. laura. so they've been preparing in different ways. vice president harris has been in pittsburgh since thursday. she's been preparing by doing mock debates and also working on ways to weave her biography into her policy answers. while former president trump, his preparation efforts include holding meetings with advisers and having rallie. former president trump and vice president harris preparing to face off. harris holding mock debates and making campaign stops in pittsburgh. are you ready? madam vice president, i'm ready. trump previewing his

punchlines at rallies. we're run by stupid people. stupid stupid people. and we found that out at the debate with joe. how did that work out? the two presidential hopefuls locked in a tight race. both campaigns know there is a lot at stake. well, listen, i don't think she's going to underestimate donald trump after all, he's been engaged in these debates at the presidential level since 2016. i think he needs to let kamala harris talk something she's been reluctant to do unless she's reading a teleprompter. harris picking up key endorsements from republicans liz and dick cheney. i applaud the cheneys for their courage in defending democracy. it's going to make the difference, is their records. tuesday's debate could be the difference maker for voters concerned about issues ranging from immigration to the economy. i think the debate really reveals a lot of the honest

opinions of the people that are running for the offices. i think the debates open up a lot of answers to a lot of people's questions. harris and trump will make their case on the debate stage at national constitution center in pennsylvania, a must win state for both candidates. and pennsylvania has sided with the winner of the last two presidential elections. laura, i can't wait. it will be one to watch. thank you so much for the background on it. now, later this week, in fact, former president trump will actually be here in the bay area he is expected to headline a fundraising event in woodside. it will be hosted by the founder of siebel systems, tom siebel, and his wife, the siebel, interestingly enough, are distantly related to governor gavin newsom's wife, jennifer siebel newsom. according to the la times, ticket for the event are going for $500,000 a couple. in the meantime, governor newsom is in new york this week in support of vice president

harris. the governor is headlining a big fundraising event for the democratic presidential nominee. he'll then follow harris to pennsylvania for that debate. he is now a leader of harris's national campaign committee, the same role he held with biden's campaign. developing right now north of the bay area in clear lake, firefighters have spent the night trying to get the upper hand on a fast moving wildfire, which has already destroyed at least 30 structures, many of them homes. the fire started yesterday afternoon east of highway 53. it quickly burned close to 100 acres. the flames swept through one community along 18th street, destroying a string of homes and cars in its path. now, initially, evacuation orders were in place for more than 4000 people and a temporary shelter opened in twin pine casino in middletown. some residents say they managed to escape the fire with little more than the clothes on their backs. the fires started all the way to there. when i saw it to here, i
6:08 am
think it's very close to 200ft. that is, i think it's time to go away. and that man says based on the path of the flames, he feels he will have nothing to return to. now fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and it's not yet clear how this fire started. as of last night, the fire is 10% contained. meteorologist kari hall is tracking conditions. this morning and throughout the day. what firefighters are going to be facing here? yeah, you can see how fast things can change and why it's so very important to be prepared ahead. now that we're going deeper into fire season, take a look at the conditions that we are seeing. this morning. it is looking fairly good for hopefully firefighters to get more containment. we are in the low 60s. humidity is modest, but it will be dropping throughout the day. and look at how hot it's going to be as we head for the low 90s. those winds gusting up to about 15 to 20mph, but maybe even stronger as we head through the week. so
6:09 am
hopefully before we get to those conditions, mainly on thursday, we are going to hopefully see more containment. so we'll be watching that. it's still hot for the inland valleys. we're headed up to 94 degrees there and will be up to 86 for a high in martinez and morgan hill today, 91. meanwhile, we'll mostly see seconds and low 80s for much of the inner bay into san francisco, with some low 70s and 60s near the coast. so we'll be watching a nice little cool down, but more wind. i'll have more on that coming up in a few minutes, and mike is tracking where we can find some lower gas prices. your highs are not so high. my lows are not so low. unfortunately. right now we're starting in san jose, where we're up about a dime over last week's low. 398 at quick stop on south bascom avenue. on the top here. nothing under four bucks in alameda county. 409 is the best we can do. hayward has our stores on hesperian boulevard in the middle and at the bottom here we have marin county with its hq fuels. there best of 419 at faras. otto on sir francis drake. that's a boulevard in the
6:10 am
san anselmo. so we're watching for those prices going up a little bit over. but you can check your own air at gasbuddy.com. let's get out to the roadways where we're looking at a smooth flow of traffic here. a little build for hayward, southbound 880 and a typical pattern over here on the east bay map. as we look at the backup at the bay bridge toll plaza, it continues to build and fill in all lanes, including off the 880 overcrossing hov lanes. do show you that option there and good timing for vasco road. we're still holding just under a half hour there. back to you. thanks. a lot, mike. well, the faithful can hardly wait tonight. the niners kick off the season at home against aaron rodgers and the new york jets. but this game will be a test right out of the gate ahead on today in the bay. we break down critical questions. the team is facing ahead of kickoff. and we know what happens when you give a mouse a cookie. but what if you give him doritos or her? it could be a herman out to the futures this morning. take a look. it's going to be pretty good day. september usually isn't so good. back in a minute

6:14 am
ahead in our full microclimate forecast coming up. and we're looking at the richmond bridge toll plaza getting more congested here, slowing off the east shore freeway for that westbound commute eastbound coming away from the san quentin side. we do see some slowing there as well. typical bridge crew getting out on to do their work as well. so watch for use caution as you approach the are. well good morning. very happy monday to you. longshoremen on the east coast and gulf coast still threatening to strike if they don't get a 77% raise. boeing aircraft reached a tentative agreement with their mechanics over the weekend, avoiding a strike. wall street journal reporting elon musk wants to wants tesla to give some of its profits to his ai company, called x ai x ai would then license some of its technology back to tesla. now, this is either a great idea because of the synergy involved, or it's just x ai taking profits away from a car company, depending on how you look at it either way. musk said on social

6:16 am
to which they can argue that they are independent. and finally, you know what happens when you give a mouse a cookie? but what happens when you rub him with the dye used in doritos? well, apparently they become transparent. this is a page from a report from stanford published in the journal science. on the left, a stomach of a mouse without yellow. five, all over his stomach on the right with the dye, which makes their skin transparent. scientists can see their insides. i will tell you, they did publish very explicit pictures of mice's insides in color. and i thought, that's not what you want to see at breakfast time. so here's a picture of a cute mouse. the mice in the experiment are fine. you just wash them off and they become bizarre. it's incredible. it has something to do with light scattering and the way that light scatters and it makes it translucent. yes, you can do it with people too. they haven't yet, but you can do it. and to answer your next question, no, you can't just rub doritos on you right? exactly. it won't work. but, you know, here's what
6:17 am
a mouse gut looks like. oh, come on, i just wanted, you know, that don't show that on tv. i didn't know that was coming. i don't even know what i was. i think i was going to say if the mouse needed to get an mri, this might be kind of competition. would look like. yes. wow. that's interesting. i just figure it's early. yeah, yeah. good thing i haven't had breakfast yet. you may not. i might not exactly. thanks a lot, scott. seem to always enlighten our day. right. well, 616 for you. now let's take a live look at levi's. look at that sun coming up. that is where tonight the niners are going to close out the nfl's kickoff weekend with a monday night game against the new york jets. the niners begin to return to or begin their quest to return to, and hopefully this time win the super bowl. but they are starting the season with a few uncertainties. now for one thing, the team. it looked a little rough around the edges during the preseason. they played without two star holdouts, brandon aiyuk and trent williams, both of whom are
6:18 am
now back in the fold. star running back christian mccaffrey is questionable with a bad calf and achilles, and they're starting the season against, let's just say, a familiar face. former cal bear aaron rodgers will lead the jets. and you can remember last year he tore his achilles just a few plays into his first game of the season. niners fans, don't forget nbc sports bay area will have pre and post game coverage of tonight's game. the pregame show starts at 4:00 this afternoon. go niners. and speaking of christian mccaffrey, he's proof positive. nfl players don't just sit around during the off season right? no. he was very busy starting with saying two words that changed his life forever i do. he got married in june to model and entrepreneur olivia culpo. and why the nfl season is hardly a honeymoon, she tells me. i got to talk to her that she and mccaffrey work hard to stay connected. you might even call their marriage a real page

temperatures in the 50s and low 60s in gilroy. it will be in the low 60s at 9:00. at 11:00 we're at 74 degrees, and at 1:00 86, you can see that it will still be heating up quickly today as we quickly reach into the low 90s and then back down to the 70s. once those temperatures start to cool off, this evening in san jose, 84 will be that high while los gatos will be in the upper 80s 91 for morgan hill and then for much of the east bay, we're seeing low 90s from vallejo all the way down to pleasanton, over toward livermore and in fremont in the upper 70s. today, mid 60s for half moon bay, redwood city, 79 and 70. in the mission district, and the outer sunset in the mid 60s. north bay temperatures in the mid 80s for the most part, but we go farther north where it will be in the 90s again for this afternoon. looking ahead. so we're seeing changes in the overall weather pattern, a couple of low pressure systems moving to just our north, but
6:22 am
that's also going to kick up those winds. and by the end of the weekend we're looking at a much more significant cool down as this low dips way south and may bring some rain very close to the bay area, so we'll be watching out for that today. the hottest day of the week with some of those low 90s. we're going to bring it down about ten degrees tomorrow. we're looking at more of those temperatures throughout the week. it may be a touch warmer for saturday and sunday. meanwhile, san francisco will see upper 60s for today. mike, you have a look now at the peninsula. i just want to take a quick look. show you 101 is moving just fine northbound through palo alto up towards san francisco. southbound, the headlights, easy pace, easy drive at that speed. all along this stretch. right here eastbound at dumbarton bridge. we do have reports of a disabled vehicle. i haven't seen any slower sensors. we'll continue to track that. watch for some flashing lights, perhaps heading over from the peninsula side there. south bay. typical clearing. we'll see that slowing right here. north 101 kicking again in about 15 to 20 minutes. and over. southbound 680 around

we contacted cornerstone building brands. cornerstone then installed this brand new window, which you can see straight through. the way it's supposed to be. jim and jill didn't have to pay a penny. the company told us the warranty on this discontinued product has been honored and this claim has been completed. jim wrote us and said, i would like to thank you for all your help because this would not have been possible without it. we were happy to help and we're happy jim saved their paperwork. follow jim's lead and save your warranties and register them when manufacturers require it. after all, the cost of that warranty is probably baked into the price you pay. if a company isn't seeing your case clearly, well, maybe we can help. snap the qr code on screen right now to fill out our consumer complaint form online. thank you chris. well, coming up next, the top stories that we're following for you today, including dangerous sideshows taking over the bay bridge and east bay streets. the action, one city leader says,

of chaotic sideshows. at one point, one sideshow halted bay bridge traffic. the response? one bay area leader says he believes his city is falling short and gearing up for tonight's season opener. i have chills, i'm very excited and i'm proud of him. we catch up with the mother of one 49ers rookie about to make his nfl debut, and the controversial changes you're going to actually need to know about. if you're lucky enough to be tailgating tonight. outside of levi's. this is today in the bay gotta love those niners fan. always geared up and ready to go. good monday morning. thanks for joining us i'm laura garcia. does it matter if it's monday? any day of the week? i am ginger conejero saab marcus washington has the morning off. we've been talking about that monday night football game for most of the morning, and we've been looking forward to carey saying that things will kind of be cooling
6:32 am
off. yes. eventually we're going to see those valley temperatures coming down. it's been so hot for a long time and we're starting out cool this morning with mid to upper 50s and low 60s as you're heading out the door and then taking a look at foster city, a look at our temperature trend throughout the day. it's going from mid 50s to upper 60s here. it will be very nice. in palo alto 80 degrees will be the high 82 for san jose, with some low 90s for morgan hill to gilroy and in concord today, 91 degrees. so there's still some areas where you do have to crank up the ac. we'll talk about cooler weather and our microclimate forecast coming up in a few minutes. ginger thanks a lot kerry. first at 630. breaking news this morning that we're following in san jose. that is where police shot a gunman. they say opened fire outside a convenience store today in the bay's thom jensen is live at the scene and tom, police say the suspect has life threatening injuries. that's right. good morning. ginger.
6:33 am
this happened in the 4200 block of center road. that's where we are, right now at the center plaza. and this is where investigators are still focusing their attention this morning outside the 7-eleven in this parking lot and this mexican restaurant just on the other side of that 7-eleven. this is where police were first called to the scene at about 930 last night, when multiple sources called 911 reporting a man firing a gun at people outside one of these businesses. sapd says when officers arrived, they confronted the man who still had a gun, and an officer fired and hit the suspect. you can see from this cell phone video provided to us by a witness this morning. there were several people watching after police returned fire and brought the injured suspect into custody. there was gunshots. they shot him like, ten times. they shot him? yeah. someone someone is down right there. that man is being treated at san jose hospital but could still die from the gunshot wound or wounds. we're not sure how many
6:34 am
times he was hit. speculation in that video that he was hit multiple times. that has not been confirmed by police, but san jose pd says a shooting victim from this incident was dropped off at the hospital in a personal victim. still very early this morning, very early in this investigation, we will bring you more information as soon as we have it this morning. we're live in san jose, thom jensen today in the bay that cell phone video giving us a glimpse of what it was like last night. thank you. tom. well, bay area law enforcement agencies are vowing to work together in response to a weekend of chaotic late night sideshows. in at least two cases. video posted on social media showed cars striking people during sideshows late saturday into sunday morning. one sideshow stopped traffic on the bay bridge in oakland. police are working to identify people attending a sideshow on hegenberger and edgewater. in that case, a driver veered into spectators.
6:35 am
the chaos also included gunfire in some cases. oakland council member noel gayo says more must be done at the end of the day, we do need to enforce the laws that we have and because it's out of control and i have many people that are coming into oakland from outside of oakland, and we're allowing these individuals to get away with that. oakland police did not respond to our request for comment, but on social media, the police posted it's now collaborating with other departments, warning sideshow participants can have their cars towed and held for 30 days. developing right now north of the bay area firefighters in clear lake are trying to control a wildfire that destroyed multiple homes after eruerday at night, the boyles fire burned about 90 acres and was 10% contained. but it did wipe out some 30 structures, most of which are believed to be homes.
6:36 am
no injuries have been reported, and it's not yet clear how it started. 635 right now, niners fans, it is time the team finally getting its season started tonight as john carr to a long kickoff weekend. and they host the new york jets at levi's stadium. that is where we find today in the bay's kris sanchez. this morning. chris, it's probably a little too early to start the tailgate, but there are some changes even outside the stadium this year. yeah, it's a little early to start the tailgate, but not too early to start setting the parking lot up for the tailgate. we have workers here who have been dropping off cones and moving barriers and dropping off the all important porta potties as well this morning, but as the tailgate time comes around, you might be chatting with your friends more than rocking out because there is one change that's going to affect how you play your music. they say you can't. music and things like that. like that's one of the
6:37 am
best things, you know, that people look forward to when they come to the game. so no amplified sound is one rule change this season. another changes to the parking policy. fans will have to park where they're told as they arrive, not where they want to. so unless you arrive with your tailgate party, you might not be tailgating together. fans are already circulating a petition to change that, but the team says that this is going to make more parking available and will also make the parking lot safer for both fans and staff. none of that matters to this mom. here she has having a one of a once in a lifetime experience. she flew into town from miami to where her son tatum bethune jersey and watch him play his first professional game. i'm here to cheer on my son, tatum bethune. this is his first nfl game. monday night lights. well, i'm going to be rooting for mama bethune for sure. now, rookie
6:38 am
wide receiver ricky pearsall will have to wait for his first nfl game. he continues to recover from that gunshot wound to the chest that he sustained during an attempted robbery. the good news is that he is on track to play october 6th against the arizona cardinals. he is, of course, an arizona native, so that's kind of cool, too. the 17 year old charged with shooting pearsall is due in court tomorrow and we will cover that for you then. levi stadium is expecting a capacity crowd and encouraging people to arrive as early as possible. so if you see colleagues in the morning and then you don't see them after lunch, maybe that's because of parking lots open at 145 this afternoon. stadium gates open at 315. the niners by the way, favored to win. kickoff is at 515. so hopefully you will. whatever your tradition is. hopefully you laundered your jersey or you didn't launder it. if that's your lucky strategy from the last super bowl. but
6:39 am
don't sit on my couch. oh my. yeah, exactly. we're going to we're going to check in on a lot of marriages at the end of the season. all right. a lot of fun. thanks kris. well niners fans, don't forget nbc sports bay area will have pre and post game coverage of tonight's game. the pregame show starts at four. that's enough time to throw a load into the laundry. if you need. yeah. no kidding. always time for that. all right. so here we are, the season upon us and the weather is going to cooperate at levi's. yeah, it looks great out there. i mean, upper 70s and sunshine. a nice little cool down as we head into the evening. we're going to see those temperatures dropping down into the upper 60s by the end of the game. and notice the winds gusting at 15 to 20mph. it's also going to be all nice and clear, really comfortable as well. as we take a look at our live view in san jose and you're heading out the door, we do have some cooler weather ahead. by wednesday we will be watching some showers to the north, some breezy winds picking up, but those winds may also increase our fire danger as we go toward
6:40 am
the middle of the week. here's a look at our highs for today. up to 91 in morgan hill and in san martin, 79 in fremont and in hayward and 75 in oakland. there will still be some low 90s there, but we may not see as many of those going through the rest of the week. mike, you're focused also on tonight's game. yeah, a lot of focus because that will bring a lot of traffic here for monday night football. you've probably already seen the signs up on 237 and 101. this is the issue tasman will have closures near great america parkway, very important avenue in lafayette as well. this is all around levi's stadium. if you're driving through the area, avoid that after 1 p.m. if you can, because that will get crowded as chris talked about. that's when the parking lots open. here's 237 101 even eight 80th may see more traffic flowing on major streets heading to the area. if you don't have to drive, maybe you want to try mass transit. lots of options. capital corridor will take you right to the great america station. caltrain will take you to the area from mountain view. you transfer over to vta, gets

to the great america station. same thing for bart. transfer over. get to the green and orange lines, which take you right there. meanwhile, the rest of this morning's commute. that's just fine. some folks may be resting up for the game. back to you, i say. let's go. niners. all right, well, the surge in evs is sparking a new tradition. yeah. ahead on today in the bay some big changes. triple a is now making to keep you informed as drivers change their means of getting around. and we're just one day away from the big political debate. we'll have the latest on strategy. plus, of course everyone is excited about the 2024 2025 football season. but of course, a lot of folks are also excited about the food. i'm marcus washington stick around because we're going to take you inside the concessions showcase. and oh yes, we are
6:42 am
i came to bayview hunter's point, where there was only one pediatrician to serve more than 10,000 children. daniel lurie said, i'm going to help. we opened a clinic for our most vulnerable children. i have worked shoulder to shoulder with him as we have brought solutions where people thought the problem was unsolvable. daniel doesn't take excuses. he holds himself accountable. and i know that he can do it for the city of san francisco.
6:44 am
presidential election is out and it doesn't tell us much. scott mcgrew joins us now. the numbers in the new york times poll, they really haven't changed. they haven't changed really at all. good morning to you. so you can see these right behind me. the new polling numbers there they are. you've got 48% support for trump, 47% support for harris. this is a new poll. these are new numbers, but they're the exact same numbers as they were in the very same poll conducted. right after harris announced she'd replace biden on the ticket. also, this is a tie
6:45 am
because these fall within the margin of error. you know, i'm not a huge fan of nationwide polls because we don't elect presidents with a nationwide vote. and if you're doing the math and think, well, hold on, no, we're missing 5% there, it's because they've got a group that said they don't know who they're voting for. i don't know what it's going to take to get those 5% to make a decision. but tomorrow's debate may help. it's hosted by abc, but you can watch it right here on nbc bay area as well. our special coverage begins at 5 p.m. george w bush probably knows who he's voting for, but he's not going to say he is not joining some republicans in endorsing harris. he says he's not endorsing anyone. here are the two candidates. the day before the debate. trump and wisconsin. harris and pittsburgh, where she was asked about that endorsement from republicans liz and dick cheney. i'm honored to have their support. and i think it's an important statement right now. a lot of what i think is happening, and i was just talking with some folks here in
6:46 am
pittsburgh about it, is that people are exhausted about the division and the attempts to kind of divide us as americans and them stepping up to make this public statement, i think is a courageous. but also for people like the folks i was just talking with, it really reinforces for them that we love our country and we have more in common than what separates us. if comrade kamala harris gets four more years, you will be living a full blown banana republic ruled by an anarchy and a tyranny. you're going to have something. and it's not her. it's the people that surround her. they're scum. they're scum, and they want to take down our country. they are absolute garbage. our nbc reporters covering the trump campaign say many of his supporters and advisers are urging him to tone it down. here's former republican candidate for president, doug burgum, on meet the press. so very quickly, stay
6:47 am
away from personal attacks. do you think, governor? well, i think that when he stays on the issues, policies, absolutely. those are those are the winning issues. because, again, whether it's crime, whether it's a border, whether it's israel, whether it's wars abroad, president trump has got not only the record of having served as president and accomplishing, you know, peace in the world and prosperity at home. but he's also got policies right now that make a ton of sense for every american. the two sides have different strategies for debate prep as well. trump says he's had a few meetings about it while harris's side is apparently built a mock set, and harris has been debating someone acting as trump ginger. thanks, scott. now to a live look at this morning's commute. new this morning, more and more triple a members now own electric vehicles, so the national auto club is now giving regular updates on how much it costs to charge up. pretty soon. triple a will have a map online similar to its gas map. for now, it's
6:48 am
sending out updates on where you can charge up for less nationwide. and this week you will see states like delaware and texas is listed as part of the top ten least expensive states to charge an electric vehicle, while states like hawaii and new hampshire are the most expensive nationwide, charging can go as low as $0.22 per kilowatt hour up to $0.56 per kilowatt hour. that, while gasoline prices are so volatile and they'll bob up and down every single day, electrical prices are remarkably stable. they will not budge for weeks at a time. as a matter of fact, i have not seen much of a change in any of the prices in any state in the past five weeks. triple a says about 2 million of its members now live in a home that has at least one electric vehicle. there is no date yet for when triple a will unveil its new electricity price map online, but for now, it will send out weekly updates in its fuel report. all right. we've been talking about the niners hitting levi's tonight. well, the fans will be as well. and they can gear up to fill up levi's stadium and their stomachs as well. here's today
6:49 am
in the bay's marcus washington with a taste of what you can expect. okay, i know you all have everything covered when it comes to the game, but i want to take it a step further. i want to take it to the part that everyone loves the food. yes, right now we are in the concessions showcase for you this year. probably the best assignment, i think out there right now. and joining me to talk about all the new food that we have this year is chef alvin. chef, thank you so much for being with us. so let's talk about it because when you think about what you want when you go to the game, you have your classics, but you also have sushi. you also have i mean you have your classic wings, the sandwiches, i mean, whatever you can think about, you pretty much have it this year. yes, we do, we do. we were in the gamut of what, you know, you can get anywhere, basically, because truly, this is what it is. you can get this not only at the stadium, but you can go out on a any given day and you can enjoy b-boy berkeley's cheesesteak sandwiches, scratches chicken, their spicy chicken. toto's
6:50 am
their pizza, but they have a great cannoli. but that's the thing about it, because what you all are doing, not only are you bringing the great food here at the stadium, if people enjoy it, of course, which they will. you can actually go out and have it because a lot of local businesses are actually partnering with you all this year. they are truly partners because we can't do it without them. so many people i'm sure want to get in here, but they can't. so how do you create the best options for everyone? it's always a balance. so, you know, there's always great chicken out there, but we can't have 20 great chickens, we got to mix it up. we got to have some great chicken, some great pizza, burgers, of course, maybe not just a burger, maybe a pastrami burger. vodka, rodney. vodka or a great cheesesteak sandwiches. and, you know, in this case, they have great wings also. okay, i think i want to try this one because that's the thing. it's all about the taste. you can hold this for me. that was that. the peppers, the onions, the bread is warm and soft,
6:51 am
which is so important. a plus. there you go. thank you, chef alvin. the thing about it is it is a great spread for everybody. pretty much something for everybody who wants it. so this is a place to be if you come to the game come empty in your stomach right. yes. but you know, you're here for like six hours on a game. so keep going to the stands. all right? all right. thank you so much for giving us a taste test of all this. i've got more to eat, so i'm going to send it back to you all. i will come with a full report when i see you all. when i get back and he never came back. great he's still recovering from all the food. full report. a full belly. all right. a lot of excitement out there at levi's, and the weather should cooperate. yeah, it's going to be nice out there for the evening. even if you're watching from home and you're maybe prepping some of those meals for everyone who's coming over. we're going to start out nice and cool. take a look at the fog draped over the golden
6:52 am
gate bridge. so we are going to have our usual start here. and that's going to keep those temperatures in the city cooler away from that cooling fog. we're going to see spots like hercules stay nice and mild in the upper 50s at 8:00. clearing out at noon upper 60s there and headed for the low 70s for later today. but then, as you move away from the coast and the inner bay, it's still going to be hot. we're talking low 90s in concord, livermore, 93 in fairfield and vacaville, and some mid 80s for much of the north bay, and then for los gatos. expect a high of 88 degrees. tomorrow is when we start to feel a little bit better here with some breezy winds and most of us in the 70s and low 80s, and that will be the coolest day of the week. we may see more of the same on wednesday, while a few spots go up a degree or two, and then the breezy winds will kick on on thursday as this low pressure system drops in just to our north, and there will be another one right behind that that could dip a little bit lower near the
6:53 am
coast for the weekend. so we're looking at some changes in our overall weather pattern that will bring about a slight dip in those temperatures. looking at our highs in the low 80s for tuesday, wednesday and thursday and then just a touch warmer for the weekend. but overall looks like a nice week ahead. this will be the warmest day, and san francisco will be in the upper seconds and low 70s all throughout the week. mike, it seems like it's a monday smooth commute across the bay area. yeah, we do expect the slowing and that's what we're seeing in the south bay. that's independent of the crowd, that's expected around levi's stadium. watch great america parkway watch tasman watch 237 right now we have 8785 101 showing your traditional build. there's 237 with a little bit of sensor change, a smooth drive through the tri-valley and the rest of the east bay. no surprises at the bay bridge. back to you. thank you so much, mike. it is 653 right now and happening now. heads up for drivers in palo alto starting today, parking will be banned on el camino real between sand hill road and san antonio avenue. caltrans will be
