benioff threatened to take the event out of san francisco over issues of crime and cleanliness around moscone center here where we are this morning, the company and the city, they say they were able to make things work, at least for this year. we have 93 million in revenue that we estimate. the impact of dreamforce has on the local community, and we see that it creates about 1400 new jobs this week. so we love to be able to provide that back here in our local community. now, dreamforce is also known for its star power, and over the next three days, attendees will get to hear concerts by pink and imagine dragons, and they'll hear from speakers like jane goodall, matthew mcconaughey, mark cuban. there are so many more, and some of this is also free. you can stream some of these speakers and events all through the dreamforce website, but also if you happen to be by yerba buena, you can hear some of the action that they're streaming stuff out into there. so if you're

happening by the area, maybe ai and tech is not your wheelhouse, but it's still something that you can participate in. there are road closures in effect, a little tricky getting here this morning. and this isn't even the bulk of the traffic. so you're going to want to know how to get here if you're coming and how to get around. if you're not. oh, and have we got someone for that? oh that we do. mike inouye has been tracking some of those major closures around the conference. a lot of people expected mike. yeah, a lot of people. so that's the big issue. watch for the pedestrians because folks will be trying to figure out where they're walking and might not be watching those crosswalk signs. so be very careful. as a driver. the big closure kris you saw where kris was, they've created stone sculptures and actual caves and other mountainous stuff outside of moscone center. that's where all the activity is. that's the reason for the closure of howard between third and fourth. that's the major closure. there is a closure for another block off a third because of some of the related activity. but the actual closures, the easy part, you just go around the closure. lots of congestion. here's market,
5:41 am
here's mission south of market and before and north of the bay bridge and central freeway approach. that's where all the congestion will continue for the next few days. the concert is not in the streets this year. it's over at oracle park as it was last year. so keep that in mind as far as later on in the week. we're looking at not just the moscone center, though. we're looking at the central freeway because overnight, outside of the hours where dreamforce is active, we talked about the project that started yesterday night at 10 p.m. and nightly through the area. the central freeway will have some closures, either westbound or eastbound, getting to or from that bay bridge. they will close off lanes through the area. so you'll use harrison and ninth to get around that minor closure. if you encounter that, there will be signs in place. just keep that. it might be an issuee unfamiliar with the area. meanwhile, for the morning commute, we are looking at a no major issues outside of dreamforce in the city. we're looking at slowing for highway 37, and it looks like the crash over at atherton is the one that is in lanes. with a little more slowing behind me. highway four shows more build coming out of

stops because of lack of vegetation or plants that are under stress and they don't have enough water to transpire, then that energy would increase the air temperature. professor verde also tells us that while choosing native plants is good, research, recent research says that we should be open to new plant introductions that are showing us better results when it comes to water conservation and the cooling potential for more stories like these, learn more about climate change in the bay area, visit our website nbcbayarea.com and click on the climate crisis tab. thank you jerry. all right. well creating a united front next here on today in the bay. the way business owners in oakland coming together, attempting to change the narrative of the city's downtown scene. plus, my husband passed away from something i didn't even know existed. beloved comedic actor john ritter died 21 years ago of an aortic dissection. now, his
