the year in october, which typically we experience some high wind conditions and all the fuels are extra dry. given the fact that we're under a red flag warnings, it means that we have the perfect recipe for a fire to be able to spread rapidly. cal fire now says the fire is 20% contained. the cause is still under investigation. now to a traffic alert for commuters heading into san francisco. it's a full weekend closure of the central freeway connector ramp. it will be closed all weekend. that's that portion of northbound 101 that goes from the freeway and ends at market street in san francisco. the map on your screen shows the closure. caltrans crews are making emergency repairs to the freeway barrier rails. all lanes of the connector ramp closed at ten last night, and will reopen in time for the monday morning commute. the detour is at the seventh street offramp. happening right now the uc berkeley campus is buzzing today

as the cal bears get ready to take on the miami hurricanes tonight in front of a nationally televised audience. in fact, it's the first home game of the season for the cal bears football team, with a rally taking place on campus yesterday at sproul plaza to get those students pumped up. the game is getting even more attention with espn college game day broadcasting live from berkeley for the very first time, with the winds piling up this year. cal fans are making their presence felt online with the help of a hashtag known as the algorithm. we spoke with the cal student who made that cal algorithm go viral, posting a meme following the auburn winds saying you just lost to the woke agenda. when i made that, it was basically a way not to not to try to define the politics of our entire fan base, because obviously i don't want to do that. but i saw it as an opportunity to kind of embrace the term and form our own relationship with it. last night
7:06 am
that meme creator there, goodman and his self-proclaimed meme council passed out game day signs to fans to keep the algorithm momentum going. the hope is that the buzz online will be on full display tonight inside memorial stadium. okay, we're going to take a big turn now to concern and dismay in san jose allegations against a city council member accused of sexual misconduct. we first told you about this thursday night, police sources confirmed with us that officers detained councilman omar torres, serving him with a warrant, seizing his phone and other electronics. a source involved in the investigation revealed it involves allegations that torres committed sexual misconduct with a minor and solicited inappropriate pictures of minors. torres also is being investigated for an incident that allegedly occurred while he was attending the democratic national convention in chicago. san jose mayor matt mahan briefly addressed the situation.
7:07 am
all i'm able to say at this time is that this is an ongoing investigation, and we have to let our detectives do their jobs. i know our police department is working incredibly hard to find the truth. torres released a written statement. in it, he says the case is based on misinformation provided to the police by someone. he filed a complaint against. he claims that person was stalking him and trying to extort him. torres maintains he did nothing wrong. if you can believe it, we are reaching one year since the october 7th hamas attack against israel, and now an alert from the fbi says the anniversary could lead to violence aimed at large gatherings. to be clear, there is no credible threat to the bay area at this time, but it comes as many groups have already planned events to mark the day. today in the bay's gia vang is in san francisco with the latest. reporter. nearly a year later and the fighting

heat, if you are headed to the niners game tomorrow, it has the potential to be the hottest 49ers game ever in the team's decade at levi's stadium. a reminder for all game goers wear your sunscreen, your hats, your sunglasses and stay hydrated. so perfect timing to check in with cynthia one last time before we are making history here. we are living it as we see those temperatures very, very warm for kickoff. even for people walking into the stadium, you're going to be sweating already. low seconds. and guess what? it gets even hotter from there. as we look towards the third fourth quarter, nearing that triple digit mark. so definitely an area to watch. we'll go on into monday. things will turn a little breezy, and when i say little, i mean little. and we'll bring down those temperatures also by a little. but then more relief should arrive. that ac should turn back on as we go on into tuesday and the rest of the week, where we go from the 100th this weekend, back down into the 80s for our inland valleys. now, of course, our beaches are also
