5:11 am
of our mountains and hills will have even some more of the gusty winds as our high temperatures today only make it up to 62 degrees in oakland, 64 in san jose. and we'll see mid 60s in the north bay. all of these numbers a little bit cooler than what's normal. and that continues into tomorrow as well with upper 60s in the south county as well as the inland east bay. so we'll talk about more of what's ahead, possibly more rain. we'll talk about that in a few minutes. mike's been tracking gas prices. how's it looking? yeah, well, since last week, it looks like our lows held through the weekend. livermore still leads our list with 379 at dimond gas and mart on south front road. looking good in marin county for the next number here. mill valley has the low of 391 at arco on redwood highway and at the bottom here, the south bay. we've held that steady as well. 399 like all last week, cupertino's best is aria gas and market on stevens creek boulevard. good stuff you can get and give those reports as you get out this week. gasbuddy.com on the roadways.

watching that weather for trick or treaters, because it's going to feel more like winter this week. we're starting out now with some low to mid 50s. 55 degrees in san mateo and san jose. now at 56 degrees. the wind is calm, but it will be picking up today as this system drops in. yesterday we had a cold front that brought us a lot of more of the cooler temperatures, and that's well to the south and east of us now. and we are also still seeing some spotty rain behind that cold front that will possibly make it into the north bay. and some of the coastal areas, much of the rest of the bay areas probably not going to see much out of this, but take a look at our highs for today. mid to upper 60s for the south bay, 66 degrees in morgan hill, 64 for hayward and 65 in walnut creek. so i'd say that's at least long sleeve weather throughout the day in daly city. we're staying in the 50s here, and it will also be in the 50s in much of san francisco, downtown, 59 degrees. and for the north bay,
5:22 am
we're going to see a high of 63. in sonoma. looking ahead. so we had that first wave of that slight chance of rain today, but the next one coming in between late wednesday and early thursday. yes, halloween day, it's going to be early coming in, but it will be in and out of here fairly quickly. and not everyone is going to see that rain coming in between wednesday night and thursday morning. so some of our models showing the possibility once again, a few hundredths of an inch of rain, possibly up to about a 10th of an inch of rain for parts of the north bay where we could see at least a little bit of some wet weather, enough to get everything damp. and then we have to wash the car again. going into thursday afternoon. friday is drying out, but then another system will be coming in on saturday and we'll be watching out for those rain chances as well. but for today it's partly cloudy. windy this evening, slight chance of rain and the next better chance of rain comes in late wednesday

into early thursday. mike, you were updating a crash in san jose. we'll start with the one we've been monitoring in san jose, where i've been watching it here, north 101 near the lawrence expressway off ramp. didn't hear confirmation of the off ramp closure, but again, if it is closed, the next up is fair oaks. but i did hear that the fast lane is blocked, which sounds like the opposite side of the freeway. we'll still track it. no slowing shows up on the sensors. so if that's not your exit, if lawrence is not your exit off north 101, everything is fine through the area. we're looking at some slowing now. westbound 84 approaching 680. chp report just showed up with a crash reported in the area. no word on injuries or lanes blocked, but we do see the slowing on the sensors as the commute just starts to build here. no delays outside of just the altamont pass. and here's the bay bridge. a smooth drive those taillights into san francisco. back to you. thanks so much, mike. protecting your money. we've seen a decrease in the use of checks, but unfortunately, we've seen a doubling in check fraud just in the past couple of years. head

rain in the forecast and some gusty winds. so yeah, we're going to feel the change of the season coming in this week. and we're watching now the radar and the satellite for that possibility of the spotty rain that we can see mainly in the north bay and near the coast. as of now, as you're waking up and heading out, it is still dry, but our hour by hour outlook does show a little bit of some hit or miss light rain coming through with a partly cloudy sky and going into this evening with things clearing out, but the wind will pick up. here's a look at our wind gusts forecast at 7:00 this evening. we'll see winds at about 25 to 30mph. some of our hills may even get some higher wind gusts later this evening. and it will be chilly heading into the next few mornings. mike, you are looking at a crash into antioch. has it been cleared? it has. that's eastbound highway 4 going this way, but the commute is westbound. and you notice, folks, there's some yellow sensors, so that start the commute has started to build through pittsburgh and bay point. same thing at the top of

take a look at what's now. what's next. will shower chances will continue. looks like the north bay will see the best chance over the next few hours. but overall we are going to have some windy and cold temperatures settling in for tonight and then rain chances return wednesday night into thursday. i know that's very close to our halloween, but it looks like it's in and out of here before we go trick or treating. so we are going to see some very light and spotty rain coming in behind the cold front that dropped our temperatures yesterday. and we are only seeing a little bit of rain out there now. but as we go throughout the day, a mix of sun and clouds and then the wind increasing as our high temperatures only hit 68 in concord. it will be 64 in san jose, and i do think that it's probably going to feel cooler than the actual temperatures as a result of the wind picking up and quite a bit of humidity in the air. we're also going to see more of about the same temperatures for tomorrow. 68 in santa rosa, 59 in san francisco and 62 in fremont. while we head into wednesday with slightly cooler temperatures in some

spots. overall, we're going to see more of the same high temperatures. but then looking into wednesday night, thursday morning, that's when we will see this next system dropping in. and the north bay will once again be in that highest chance of at least getting some more measurable rain. and then as we go into thursday night, it is clearing out. but looking at that hour by hour outlook at the timeline of this, this is before a lot of people get up and head out for work by about 4 to 5:00 in the morning is when we'll see that best chance of rain and the rain totals are looking like very light, maybe a few hundredths of an inch of rain from san francisco on southward the north bay could possibly see about a 10th of an inch of rain, and then, going into the rest of the week off and on rain chances here are highs will only be in the 60s this week, and our overnight lows will drop down to the low to mid 40s. so keep those jackets on. it will be chilly out there and in san francisco. gusty winds today, 30

to 40 mile per hour winds this evening. and then going into wednesday with another chance of rain late wednesday night. mike, you are seeing the bay bridge quickly filled in. yeah, it only took less than 20 minutes for them to go from a metering light activation to all of this at capacity at the bay bridge toll plaza. the hov lanes move smoothly, indicating a smooth flow across the span. we have the backup because we lose about half the lanes, and those metering lights are restricting traffic to keep that span moving well. a slow develops here in richmond and into pinole, so pretty typical build for the upper eastshore freeway. 242 showed some early slowing sticking around because all this traffic is feeding off highway four. pretty standard pattern for contra costa county as we look to the crash here. we're still monitoring the crash. reported west 84 at 680. the good news is we've held with just about the same amount of backup. and i hear that some lanes have been reconfigured over some weekend construction. so do keep that in mind as you travel through the area. but no word on lanes blocked. that might be why we're holding off

steady. maybe off to the shoulder. i'll keep tracking that over in the tri-valley in the south bay. we do have that burst of traffic that's lasting over from the first slowdown. we should see it ease up in the next ten minutes. highway one. fine along this portion of the map. way down in big sur. just a note today and the next couple of days. so these first three days, this week, they do have a closure there. rocky creek. so watch for that if that is in your travel plans. way farther south. meanwhile over here, contra costa county smoother drive. we're starting to build now for vasco road. we're going to reach about a half hour in the next 15 minutes or so as folks leave contra costa county and head down toward 580. things should be moving smoothly there, but there we go. the bay bridge. you saw the backup at the toll plaza. but here we go. the span itself does move smoothly because those folks are held back over on the oakland side. back to you. all right. thanks, mike. well, happening now, a mission and mission. michelin starred fine dining spot in san francisco has abruptly closed. the restaurant, called murad, served its last customer saturday night. now, the owner made that announcement on
