good morning. glad you're with me. i'm frances rivera. with less than 24 hours until election day, the race still appears incredibly tight. the final poll from nbc news shows the candidates tied with 2% of registered voters undecided. there is still a major gender divide with more men supporting donald trump and vice president harris has a similar advantage among women. today, the harris campaign will go all in on pennsylvania with a series of events and concerts. donald trump will travel to three swing states. here is nbc's garrett haake. >> reporter: duelling strategies from duelling campaigns in the race's closing weekend. a noticeably angry donald trump hammering kamala harris in pennsylvania at his first of three planned rallies in three states. >> that horrible, terrible, the worse ever vice president.

solidly red anymore. nbc's maura barrett went there to talk to voters. >> reporter: a midwest surprise. >> i didn't have this on my good evening behnke gal card. >> reporter: the highly respected des moines register poll showing kamala harris leading donald trump in a solidly republican state of iowa. >> it's kind of nice to see people are thinking twice, thinking more of not just kind of one-side, but more open-minded. >> reporter: the polls showing harris leading, but within the margin of error. a dramatic shift from september when trump led by four points. the change fueled by senior women and independent women. >> i feel like democracy needs to be defended. >> reporter: iowa, not normally a battleground in recent elections and has been ignored by both candidates in their final pitches. trump dismissing the polls. >> they just announced a fake poll. hey, think of it. right before the election that i'm three points down. i'm not down in iowa.

>> reporter: one possible contributing factor, iowa passed a strict abortion ban this summerwhich may be energizing women to vote. >> it should be between the person and their provider, not the government. >> this election unfortunately. >> this latest poll seems a bit off. >> reporter: university of iowa political science professor tim hagel echoing skepticism from republican and democratic strategists. >> if harris wins iowa, how does that shift the larger electoral map? >> we've only got six electoral votes. if it shifts to harris' side, it's a 12-vote shift. trump could have to win some other states in order to compensate for that. so that could be problematic. >> our thanks to maura for that report. israeli authorities are investigating after the suspected league of classified gaza intelligence, allegedly involving an aide to prime minister benjamin netanyahu. an israeli court saying sunday the leak compromised security sources and could have harmed efforts to release hostages.

it comes the same day the idf announced a recent special operation in syria led to the detainment of a, quote, iranian terror network operative. let's turn now to nbc's claudio lavanga. good morning, claudio. >> reporter: good morning, frances. well, that leaked document on gaza first appeared on a german newspaper on september. it appeared to contain the details about the negotiation strategy of hamas during that time. now more details are slowly coming out from that document because the israeli court only lifted the gag order on sunday. but the idf, the israeli defense forces did confirm that confidential sensitive information was leaked and the israeli court said that information could have caused serious harm to israel's state security, and also to the efforts to have the remaining hostages in gaza released. now, as you mentioned, one of the four suspects is allegedly a media adviser for the israeli prime minister, benjamin netanyahu, leading critics to

claim that it was done so to provide political cover to the israeli prime minister at the time when negotiations between israel and hamas ground us to a halt. now in the meantime, as you mentioned, the idf in a statement in recent months they carried out what they called a special ground operation in syria during which they detained an iranian terror network operative called ali soleiman al assi, claiming that he was gathering information on israeli troops on the border. frances? >> okay, claudio lavanga for us, claude yes, thank you. back here at home, at least 11 people were injured after severe storms tore across oklahoma sunday, spawning destructive tornadoes. heavy rain and winds designated neighborhoods, flipping cars and leavieing tens of thousands without power. the governor enacting an emergency declaration for six counties. the national weather service

>> one day too go. so much data. good morning to you, frances. a look at early voters, they are consistent. energized voters, what some call the super voters, if you will, and this year we are setting a record of them. i was just checking our data dae we are at 76 million so far. it's the most ever if you remove the covid phenomenon of 2020. in 2012 and 2016, when you look it, that was 36% of total votes for those election year. in 2020 it was 64 of all votes cast. we could see another record year this year. according to our nbc news poll just out, 65% of us are saying that we have or we will vote early. one-third saying that we're going to vote on election day. and evidently, when you vote, it

seems to say who you're going to vote for on average. you vote early, 7 percentage points above for favoring harris. if you vote on election day, the numbers plus 16 percentage points, frances, and also interesting tofactor in when you look at all of this, of course, is which way you will lean. >> when you're thinking of, that it's also interesting to factor in when it comes to who the red voters are, the blue voters. how does that break down when it comes to the parties? >> let's look at the core seven battleground states here, frances. when we look at that, as of today, it is still really close. four states had more early voters going for -- excuse me, that are registered republicans where we have data. arizona, georgia, north carolina, nevada. very, very close there. and three other states, democrats are ahead in terms of registering as democrats and voting early. now the one to watch, though, pennsylvania. plus 24% here when we look at

those who voted early and were democrats. the rest were mid single digit percentages all the way around. and again, pennsylvania 24% ahead. nationwide, let me show you those numbers. looking at democrats 41%. republicans 39. it remains unbelievable as you were saying at the top of the show. very, very close. typically, you would see more democrats that are voting early. this year you can see republicans coming on strong. some days surpassing the democrats on early voting. the wild card,ings of, it's 20% at the bottom, frances. which way did they go so far in early voting. that is the question we want to know. how about age and gender. >> age and gender, when we look at that, early votes very quickly here. women surpassing men. pennsylvania 13 percentage points, up. georgia 12. michigan, 11%. this is all as of november 4th when we look at women voting
