our top stories in just a few hours. the fight over the naming of oakland international goes to court. i'm bob redell. we're here at oakland international airport this afternoon. the city of san francisco will ask a judge, a federal judge in san francisco, to force oakland international to stop using san francisco in its name. you might recall earlier this year, the city and the port of oakland, they both changed the name of oakland international to san francisco bay oakland international airport. the city of san francisco has filed a motion for a preliminary injunction to ask oakland to stop using san francisco bay in its name. people in the bay area still in the dark due to the public safety power shutoffs. pg&e cut power to nearly 12,000 customers trying to prevent fires. here's a look at the outage map. most of the outages you see there in purple in the north bay. crews did turn the power back on in some spots last night. it included parts of santa clara and alameda counties, all power is expected to be restored by 10:00 tonight.

california air resources board. i'm kris sanchez. gas prices could go up by about $0.47 a gallon. if the california air resources board votes in favor of changing its emissions rules. now, today, the state average is 425 a gallon, a dollar 14 higher than the national average. but the air resources board, or carb, is tasked with cutting emissions to nearly half of 1990 levels, and they only have five years left to make that happen. that vote is coming up tomorrow in riverside. time now to get a look at that forecast with meteorologist kari hall. and it's nice to see a calmer wind this morning, but that also means a cooler start. temperatures now in the upper 40s and low 50s as you head out the door. lots of sunshine and it's going to be a very pleasant day with highs in the low to mid 70s for the north bay, 71 for the high and martinez, dublin and 73 in san jose. as we go through the forecast, more of the same temperatures into friday. a little bit cooler on

test and see if i got what it takes to be in this space. >> reporter: one of those key experts who knows what it takes is fred gidell-i. >> you have to develop all othoe other areas as well. >> these are guys who spent their entire careers working really hard, in-season, off-season training, trying to f find that extra edge that will help them on the field. one of the things i always tell them is what made you great as a player, you have to do those same things to be great as a broadcaster. >> you all are putting them through real types of reps that we get on live tv. are you seeing improvement from some of these players in realtime? >> yeah. their first takes they're all a little nervous, not really sure what to expect. they get a little tongue tied. but after they've done it once, you know, you kind of see the bravado that a professional athlete has to have take hold and they're much better the second time around. >> reporter: the league now

you've got a chance to have a pretty solid career. >> so, guys, i'm actually here in baltimore ahead of thursday night football's ravens/bengals matchup tonight. ravens long snapper nook moore was one of the guys in the broadcasting boot camp. imagine the positions he's been in. game is on the line, he's got to snap for a field goal. and yet he said participating in the broadcast boot camp was one of the most nerve racking things he's ever done. he said he was sweating bullets. he thought he was the only one. but when he started comparing notes with the other players he said we all were. it was such a step outside of their comfort zones and he said, tom brady's shown him, it's not as easy as it looks. >> you're right. you make it look easy, kaylee hartung. >> sure do. >> imagine us on the football field. we would be sweating bullets. >> i thought the guys whether or not do it well, it's the highest form of broadcasting because you're observing events in realtime, processing that information, distilling it down for the viewer and you're explaining it to a lot of folks who don't understand all the

campaigns are contests of competing visions. a country chooses one or the other. we accept the choice the country made. i've said many times, you can't love your country only when you win. you can't love your neighbor only when you agree. something i hope we can do no matter who you voted for. we see each other not as adversaries but as fellow americans, bring down the temperature. i also hope we can later address the question about the integrity of the american electoral system. it is honest. it is fair, and it is transparent. and it can be trusted. win or lose. i also hope we can restore the respect for all our election workers who busted their necks and took risks at the outset.

we should thank them. thank them for staffing voting sites, counting the votes, and protecting the very integrity of the election. many of them are volunteers who do it simply out of love for their country. and as they did, as they did their duty as citizens, i will do my duty as president. i'll fulfill my oath and i will honor the constitution. on january 20th, we'll have a peaceful transfer of power here in america. to all our incredible staff, supporters, cabinet members, all the people who have been hanging out with me for the last 40 years, god love you, as my mother would say, thank you so much. you put so much into the past four years. i know it's a difficult time. you're hurting. i hear you and i see you. but don't forget, don't forget all that we accomplished. it's been a historic presidency. not because i'm president.

>> president biden delivering what at moments felt like a farewell speech, certainly trying to capture the moment and what voters were trying to say as kamala harris was defeated, of course, to former president and now president-elect donald trump. the president also drawing contrasts about the election process and talking about that this would perhaps later rest the idea that there were problems with our election system. the president also talking about, of course, a smooth, vowing a smooth transfer of power. i want to go to our senior white house correspondent, gabe gutierrez, now, at the rose garden, gabe, we caught glimpses of some of the people in the crowd, cabinet members, staff. describe the setting. >> well,in lester, it was a very somber setting in the rose garden, as you said, the president was speaking with his staff, cabinet secretary, senior aides were in the audience, but he really tried to strike a unifying tone for the country,

and this is similar to what vice president harris said yesterday during her speech at howard university. really stressing the importance of a peaceful transfer of power. and this was a theme, lester, that we heard throughout president biden's campaign of threats to democracy and basically saying that we can't, the results have to be accepted, and we can't be american, we cannot support america only when we win, and that's something that he reiterated over and over again during his remarks today. now the focus shifts, lester, to the next ten weeks of his administration, and white house officials tell me he will be focusing on several things which he alluded to here, more aid for ukraine, further implementing some of the legislation that his administration passed, including that infrastructure law, and in addition to that, more funding for disaster relief. those are -- the thoughts are now shifting towards his legacy at this point, lester, and he also heaped a lot of praise on

his vice president, vice president harris, calling it an inspiring campaign. he did not take any questions, though, as he left the rose garden, lester. >> you mentioned this, and i want to drill down a little farther. he seemed to be expressing some frustration of the pace of getting credit for things done. he was talking about things done but noting the horizon, the time horizon of these things sometimes can be measured in decades. >> reporter: yeah, certainly, lester, and he was frustrated, i know in his conversation with you several months ago that the administration wasn't getting enough credit for some of its accomplishments, including on infrastructure and the idea that the economy was improving, that inflation was coming down or at least plateauing, and that his administration wasn't getting the credit for it. so, now, again, he has several foreign trips upcoming, and now he is working on his legacy, as this moves forward, but what these remarks were really intended to do, lester, is really strike this unifying tone at a time when america is so
