have a game with the la rams remaining and the arizona cardinals the last game of the season. so they're going to have to go two and zero in those remaining conference games. and we're accustomed to seeing the nfc west pretty strong. we're not used to seeing teams at this point in the season six and five and five and six. so the best thing about it is everybody in the division is struggling. and if the 49ers can find a way to put a streak of wins together, they could be right there at the top of the division in a couple of weeks. so there's really no need to panic. but you really are leaving yourself zero margin for error, right? and the way they're playing right now, if they got into the playoffs, there's no one that's looking at them and going, oh, the niners are dangerous right now, right. because they are not playing their best football. yeah they're not playing their best football. but when you have the type of personnel that they have on any given sunday, anything can happen. you can have christian mccaffrey, george kittle, deebo samuel go off for a career game, not to mention jauan jennings or nick bosa two, three, four sacks. it's just

about getting into the dance. once you get into the dance, anything can happen. give me some specifics, dante, of what scares you the most about maybe the buffalo bills, who have won six straight games. they score 29.1 points per game. that's third in the nfl. their defense allows only 19.5. that's seven best. they beat kc last week. we mentioned that coming off a bye. and you're playing them in buffalo. what's the hardest part about playing this team josh allen. his ability to move inside outside the pocket make every throw tremendously strong arm. he has a chip on his shoulder to where he won't allow this buffalo bills team to lose. and he looks like he's destined to win the mvp award. and also take this buffalo bills team to the super bowl. so when you have a player with that type of competitive nature, it's hard to match that sustain and finish on a guy like josh allen. so if anything, josh allen really scares me. they beat kansas city

so for the bay area, it looks like this round we'll see those top rain totals from the santa cruz mountains and parts of the south bay getting started tomorrow morning with a drying trend just in time for thanksgiving. but we may have to deal with some patchy fog. a closer look at those rain chances hour by hour. and when things clear out in that forecast coming up in a few minutes. all right, rob, we'll see you then. in san francisco, businesses and neighbors are still recovering from the last storm, and some are cleaning up flooding before more rain arrives. flora grubb gardens plant store in bayview check it out. had more than an inch of water. flood their showroom. the rain and flooding forced them to close friday. then yesterday, employees rushed to squeegee all the water away and to get plants and merchandise up from the floor. luckily, we have lots of soil in bags, which basically double as sandbags, so we were able to like put those around and kind of divert water from coming in as much as we could. and then saturday morning we had to come in and kind of really deal with the aftermath before opening. while all the extra water was a hassle, they admit

dna testing answered that question. jacob crissinger. his family was notified just two weeks ago of the death that happened more than three years ago. i've spent the last three years looking for him, hoping and searching, you know, different halfway houses and rehabilitation programs and hospitals and jails. every time i went to the bay area, i would drive to areas where i thought he might be. family members say crissinger was a drug addict with mental health challenges, and they wonder if that is why the medical examiner based his identification on statements from employees at the dahlia hotel, rather than more scientific methods. you shouldn't be misidentified because they failed to do a dna test. they failed to have the family come down and identify him. they didn't look at the fact that my brother is only like five five, and that other guy is way taller, and maybe he was just a drug addict to them,

but to me he was my brother. a spokesperson for the medical examiner's office says we extend our sincere condolences to jacob christian cazares loved ones and family, and we are grateful for the department of justice for their assistance on the case. as for james robinson, seen alive in the tenderloin in may, he was tracked down in the same area by his sister in july. but after an emotional reunion, he refused rehab and disappeared again. his friends say they've seen him since his sister has not. we kind of know the idea of where he hangs out, so we've been just every few weekends or every other weekend or so. we'll go out and we'll search for a few hours and just in hopes to find him, it may seem the families involved are entitled to some kind of compensation for their trauma, but legal analyst stephen clark says that will not be easy to prove. this will be a tricky case for the plaintiffs because there are a lot of governmental immunities that would come into play here. but at the same time, you have to appreciate what these families went through. jacob christian

christmas in the park puts on this drive-thru event for cars, but after a request from cyclists, they decided to offer a bike only night. christmas in the park is all about inclusion, and we want something for everybody. and we have so many people who can't drive or choose not to drive. we wanted them to experience this the way they needed to experience it. happy holidays, merry christmas. from snow to santa, they put down their kickstands to kick start their holidays. money raised at this event goes to support christmas in the park in downtown san jose, which is short $100,000 for next year's event. since we're not getting the donations that we normally expect, we're looking at what we need to change next year. we're still going to be in the park next year. we're not going away. we just won't have the ability to do what we normally do. we'll have to make some changes unless we can come up with that shortfall that we have right now. but tonight the focus is on embracing this cycle of the season. no motors, just magic.
9:29 pm
merry christmas. this is the only night that you can bike through, but you can drive through this event through december 31st. and now i'm going to send it back to you. so i can keep on biking. i'm hearing that she's still out there. yeah, she's going around and around. marianne, stop. yeah, yeah. all right, so bring your wheels. that will be a fun night. marianne. thank you. yeah, well, hey, it was a spectacle in the south bay. still is. chinook salmon in the los gatos creek. it continues to draw crowds. we first told you about this last night at 11 today. the walking bridge overlooking the creek in campbell. check it out. lots of people there packed many of the people who stopped by hoping to see the migrating fish fight upstream. they saw our report on the phenomenon last night. a large number of salmon have been spotted in several south bay creeks. experts say it's an unexpected result of all the rain this past week, and local conservationists think all the attention is a good thing. i think that the more eyes that

are on the creek, the better it is for the fish. so more people are aware of it. we have signage out here so that so that fish and game will be called and fish and game is pretty active right now in terms of protecting things. so i think it's a positive. okay. so you heard him talking about those signage. yeah. it's against the law to try to catch fish in los gatos creek. that is something to be aware of if you go to see the salmon in person. marianne showed us some of their last, last night with a shopping cart, trying to catch fish anywhere. don't do it. an elderly horse right there, rescued from a deep mud pit on the peninsula today, firefighters were called to a property on runnymede road near woodside this morning. they get there and they find this horse right there, 29 years old. it had already exhausted itself trying to get free of the thick, deep mud. couldn't even move to try to get itself out of there. luckily, the fire crew had a number of experienced equestrians on hand and called a

veterinarian in for backup as well. they gave like full, full service to this horse. in the end, they used straps and a tractor to hoist the animal to safety. after giving the horse some time to rest, which was also another really important part of this is not to rush this process. we were able to successfully use the tractor to gently lift that horse and allow it to get on its four legs, which it did pretty quickly. and then again, give it some time to recover and ultimately the rescue operation was successful. and we're very, very, very happy with that. and it was successful because the firefighters kept trying and trying numerous attempts to free that horse. but as you can see, it was able to walk ever so slowly on its own afterwards. its injuries, we're told, are minimal. nice. okay. yeah, yeah. all right. rob is here now. and rob, i know that a lot of people probably enjoyed this dry weather that we had, but i know we've been talking about more rain. yeah, we're going to be seeing it as early as tomorrow morning, especially

around the santa cruz mountains, the south bay and a little bit different this time around. we are talking about an atmospheric river, but for the most part the biggest impact is likely to be just to our south, which means highway 17 areas south of san jose will likely get the most rain this time around. right now san jose partly cloudy skies, 55 degrees as we take you around the bay. 52 inland towards walnut creek and contra costa county might see a little bit of patchy fog moving forward to tomorrow morning. and right now, 53 degrees in san rafael and a view of the bay bridge 56 currently in san francisco. so for tomorrow morning, rain at times, but likely the heaviest rain. scotts valley, santa cruz areas south of downtown san jose. we begin the day in the 40s and low 50s, and by lunchtime the rain at times continues, especially for the lower peninsula southward and our highs tomorrow. it's going to be a bit chilly, upper 50s to low 60s around the bay area. so here is the rainfall estimate. and look what we have on the map. the areas in red. it's not the north bay and it's not the

central bay. it's areas really there to the south, santa cruz mountains down towards gilroy could be looking at at least 1 to 2in of rain from monday on into tuesday. so far tonight, what we've seen of the showers mainly light showers moving into the north bay, but you can see the moisture plume there to the south. that's what's going to be driving the higher rain rates moving forward into the morning around the santa cruz mountains, morgan hill down into gilroy, scattered showers for areas north of san francisco. so as we get into monday evening, rain rates might let up for a bit. and then they're going to fill in again as we get into tuesday morning again, mainly areas south of san francisco. and that is what's going to drive those rain rates up 1 to 2in, maybe locally more in the santa cruz mountains. but for things start to dry out as we head into tuesday night. now, better news for your thanksgiving holiday weekend plans. you see, thursda, their thanksgiving day looks dry. watch out for some dense tule fog in the central valley, and we might see some of that spilling westward at night into the north and east bay valley. so one more chance of showers friday into saturday. right now

looks like mainly south of the grapevine. if you're heading into southern california, you might have to watch out for that. but for the bay area, things are trending drier moving forward into and through the holiday weekend. so san francisco next two days. best chances of rain monday looks to be the wettest day of the week. we start to lose the rain chances after tuesday and a pretty comfortable temperatures. i think the top travel concern could be that dense fog with some of that could set up, especially in the east bay valleys. maybe some of the local airports as we head into the weekend, as we make the turn to a drier pattern, once we pass the middle part of the week, i see the 63 next sunday. what did you say it's going to be in buffalo, 29 degrees. no snow showers will be playing there. yeah, we'll have that coming up next time. all right rob thanks. still to come starting the holiday season by taking a step back in time. we're going to take you on a trip to the victorian era next. and a reminder as we head toward the holidays, we're helping to make sure everyone has food on the
