coast is causing major troubles for this traveling. drivers had to deal with those less than ideal conditions on the roads. also a stowaway was caught on a flight that took off from new york. our erin mclaughlin has the details. >> reporter: hey there, as you can see we are experiencing pretty wet and windy weather on long island. authorities are urging folks if they do take to the roads given the soggy conditions in the northeast to be extra cautious. good news is thanksgiving is actually the best day to be out on the roads as authorities say they are investigating how a stowaway managed to get through security without a ticket, make their way onto a delta airlines flight flying from jfk international airport all the way to france according to passenger the stowaway was discovered just prior to landing, hiding in the airplane

bathroom. we heard from delta airlines, they put out a statement saying they are investigating adding that "nothing is of greater importance than matters of safety and security." in terms of folks as they are looking to head home from the holidays experts say this sunday will be the busiest travel day with 3 million airplane passengers expected to pass-through tsa c checkpoin nationwide. for folks driving home the busiest drivetime will be sunday from 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., then monday from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. back to you. >> erin, thank you. a massive attack on ukraine's power grid left homes and businesses without power across the country. vladimir putin said it was retaliation for ukraine attacking inside russia. ukraine hit targets using tactical ballistic missiles made by the u.s. the power grid

was attacked just as winter is setting in with temperatures already freezing. it's a tactic thats deliberate on russia's part. the actions have been condemned as "horrific." stomach israel and hezbollah are accusing the other of violating the cease-fire in lebanon two days after it went into effect. israel bombed what they say is a hezbollah rocket facility but hezbollah accuses israel of shooting at civilians trying to return home to their villages. this fragile truce has many israelis feeling pretty hesitant about returning to their border towns. more from northern israel. >> reporter: the israeli hezbollah cease-fire and in northern israel work is starting on repairing rocket damage from the war. a few miles from the border with lebanon, the scars of conflict are still visible, and the sounds of battle still

audible. our camera caught outgoing artillery fire towards southern lebanon. idf saying it bombed a hezbollah rocket facility. both hezbollah and the lebanese army accused the idf of violating the cease-fire. in the southern suburbs of beirut matt bradley met residents coming back to massive destruction. >> he is saying there is no other option inside,e, it's either death or victory, so he sees this as victory. >> reporter: a very different picture across the border. this is a station hit by rocket fire just a few days ago, but unlike the scenes in southern lebanon people in this town say they are not ready to return yet. i don't necessarily believe that the cease-fire will hold, and they will only go back to their homes once they feel truly safe. we follow briefly returned to her home to collect items for

by police who are now treating this as a hoax. among those targeted, senator chris murphy and his home in hartford. his office says that threats appear to be part of a coordinated effort. meanwhile representative haze said police alerted her to an email saying a pipe bomb had been placed in her mailbox. similar threats were made earlier this week against several of donald trump's cabinet picks and top advisers. president-elect donald trump and the president of mexico were offering differing accounts this morning of a conversation between the two on migration earlier this week. after a phone call trump said on social media that president claudio sheinbaum pardo agreed to stop immigration through mexico, but claudio sheinbaum saying "we reiterate that mexico's position is not to close borders but instead to build bridges between government and the people." that call coming days after trump threatened a 25% tariff on goods imported from mexico.
