profile criminal trial now entering the homestretch. i'm ginger conejero saab in san francisco, where closing arguments are set to begin today in the murder trial of nima momeni. he's the man accused of stabbing and killing cashapp co-founder bob lee. prosecutors have argued all along, while many stabbed lee to death in a drug fueled rage over an alleged sexual assault involving his sister and a drug dealer. his defense team, however, says the stabbing was an act of self-defense. they claim it was lee who turned violent allman zenni after the two did drugs in a car. after closing arguments wrapped, the jury will receive the case. we can get a verdict in this case as early as sometime this week. well, foster city leaders tonight will hatch a new plan for what some call a noisy and messy situation involving a hard to control goose population. critics say the geese have been a problem for years at leo ryan park. so tonight council members will consider adopting a new management plan. supporters say it focuses on non-lethal methods

planet. that's identification. >> well, if you couldn't quite spot the difference in the clips, you might not be alone. that was the accurate portrayal of marcia clark in the people versus o.j. simpson and clark herself. since then, she has become a best selling author and a number of legal thrillers. now, she's diving in true crime with "trial by ambush." it is about barbara graham who was sentenced to death in the 1950s. marcia says it is the issue of truth. what calls you about the story of barbara graham? >> everything. it is weird because it was a story i looked at it by accident. i was investigating another case and saw it in a footnote. i saw it was the crime of the

century and thought never mind. everybody would have written about it. there's nothing new to say. i couldn't let it go. i think barbara graham. that case. when i got all of the transcripts and looked at it, it was huge. the story was a thriller outside the courtroom, but inside the courtroom with all things happening at the last minute. twists and turns. >> a ton of twists and turns. by the way, you are a former prosecutor. you are a defense attorney in this case. you really layout what went wrong. can you give us the thumbnail schedule? the 30 second elevator pitch? who was barbara graham? i had never heard of this case. it was the trial of the century before the trial of century. >> way before. in 1953. what was amazing about it. this was a girl who was thrown away a birth. her mother really didn't want her. she had two other kids after her. barbara kept getting thrown out

into the reform school. it was like guantanamo bay. she went through a hellish childhood. she was smart. she didn't get through eighth grade, but loved jazz and literature. her downfall is she was beautiful. she wound up in cahoots with bad guys. that's how she got wrapped up in the murder case. she was only supposed to be the lure that got the victim to open the door. >> she was convicted and put to death? >> and put to death. yeah. >> you reopen the case. what's interesting about it is obviously it is a different case than the one you are well known for. as you came along, there were aspects of the media coverage and aspects of the way the defendant, a female, a beautiful female treated, that wrung a chord with you. >> i watched the newspaper coverage exhaust edly.

it worked. >> it did. people are fascinated by crew time. you have a podcast right now. do you think it is a positive for the public to be interested? about the menendez case which was a few years before simpson now reexamined and re-sentencing with the documentary. what do you think about that? >> i don't think it is bad to look back at cases. every case is impacted what happens to us as a society and the issues in the case. particularly with child abuse and that sort of thing. we bring a more sophisticated idea of what was going on. that's a good thing. it brings us balance. it is probably an argument for doing that kind of thing as much as possible. that doesn't necessarily mean you change the outcome or the bob menendez brothers get relea.

you felt it was a positive portrayal? >> i think so. the simpson case is no different than any of the high profile cases that society puts the spin on them at the time. it has an impact how we view the case. the simpson case was not really a mystery in any way or shape. people created rabbit holes around it because it made it more intriguing. it wasn't. it was a domestic violence case. classic one in many respects. bigger than most because there were two nocent victims. there was not that much really to talk about unlike other cases that present. in a way, the menendez is a conundrum. it gives you more things to think about in terms of should we or shouldn't we and how do we handle it now. >> whether it is bar bara graha. >> that is true.
